Hello friends, followers and business partners! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy while enjoying some family and friends time and self care. This year has been a busy one for my little business wuth wholesale and for that I'm extremely grateful! I've learned valuable lessons in how to better streamline my time to be more efficient. This will be a major goal for me in the next year. If you have looked through my products I design you will see that I illustrate and sew everything you see in my shop. I've been an illustrator for over twenty years and have worked in the fashion and design industry since the late 80s. This year I've also been teaching illustration lessons to children and adults which has grown and I love it so much! Whirlykidde is a Fall 2021 Spoonflower Small Business Grant Recipient

Thank you so much to Spoonflower for nominating me and my small business, whirlykidde, as one of the recipients of the Fall 2021 Spoonflower Small Business Grant!

Without Spoonflower I would not be able to illustrate my own designs and upload them to create and sew my children’s product line. This is how I am able to maintain a sustainable product and business practices. You can read more below that you can also find on the Spoonflower blog too. I will link it here and on my website too. Please check out the other grant recipients as well and give them and their small businesses a follow to support them and their journey! https://blog.spoonflower.com/2021/10/fall-2021-small-business-grant/ “With a small business grant from Spoonflower, I can create more products for both wholesale and retail orders. I can also use the grant to assist with sewing supplies, website fees and design tool fees, and my Spoonflower Pro Membership. As I get busier with more orders, my business will need more cash flow to help stock up on pre-made items for wholesale orders especially. Pre-made items would be dolls and plush toys which utilize Spoonflower fabrics. Throughout each year, I design two collections of children’s toys and clothing and those are submitted for sale on both wholesale and retail platforms alongside many events both online and in person too.

My go to fabrics that I mainly use for my small business are Spoonflower’s Organic Cotton Sateen and Organic Cotton Knit. I use Organic Cotton Sateen for my dresses, dolls and plush toys. I use Organic Cotton Knit for t-shirts, blankets and doll clothes.”

Autism is close to my heart and family as I have a teenage son on the spectrum and know very well the challenges he and his peers face every single day.
