This is a rare one, folks! I usually just sell patterns, but I have an extra Three Cheers, and much as I adore that record I don't need two cross stitches of it. So now's your chance! Be emo AND artsy! Support small artists! There's literally no downside here!
If you want to make your own, you can get the pattern here: https://rileydoescrossstitch.etsy.com/listing/1233701668/three-cheers-for-sweet-revenge-my

Hey y’all! My housemates moved out five months early, so I’m now in the exciting position of either having to move in the next couple weeks or Acquire Living Room Furniture. In honor of that new adventure, everything in my Etsy store is 10% off for the week! If you’ve had your eye on my Desert Song sticker, now’s a great time! It’s one less thing to potentially pack! Here’s the link, and thanks for all your love!

i love the desert song sticker! are you ever going to do a full sticker set like you have for the cross stitch patterns (that im definitely sending to my mom 👀👀)
Thank you so much!
That's a good question! I haven't thought about it. Off the top of my head my answer is "I'd love to but not in the very near future."
I'm adding new sticker designs bit by bit, because I have to order stock in advance, so I'm trying not to spend a thousand million dollars on the front end hahaha! But if there's interest, I can definitely look into doing a sticker sheet with the four designs when that side of the shop really gets off the ground.

LET’S GO STICKERS!!! If you love obscure My Chemical Romance songs and the fiber arts, today is your lucky day, because my Desert Song cross stitch is now a 3” vinyl sticker! These things are practically indestructible, so stick them on everything and let everybody know you’re the coolest of the MCR fans. Head to my Etsy store to buy dozens of them and help your friendly neighborhood grad student save up for a laptop from this decade 🥰

So the other night during D&D, I had the sudden thoughts that:
1) Binary files are 1s and 0s
2) Knitting has knit stitches and purl stitches
You could represent binary data in knitting, as a pattern of knits and purls…
You can knit Doom.
However, after crunching some more numbers:
The compressed Doom installer binary is 2.93 MB. Assuming you are using sock weight yarn, with 7 stitches per inch, results in knitted doom being…
3322 square feet
Factoring it out…302 people, each knitting a relatively reasonable 11 square feet, could knit Doom.

I told my dad I was working on a cross stitch birth announcement for my new baby cousin and that it's a train with a bunch of animals on it, and he immediately asked 1) what animal was the train conductor (it was a teddy bear) and 2) is there a girraffe sticking its head out window with a long neck (there absolutely is)
And just like thanks Dad you get it you understand my craft

This may be my greatest success in the field of mini album art cross stitch (and is definitely my #1 Green Day album). Everything about it makes me happy: the font, the tiny Christian and Gloria, the fact it reminds me to listen to my favorite Green Day album when I see it… I don’t talk about this one enough so now you get to look at it!

if you like crafting and also free things, might i suggest the antique pattern library?
it’s a not for profit that’s gathering books, patterns, and other materials related to crafting that are out of copyright (or getting permission from copyright holders in some cases) in order to share them online. they scan items, clean them up, then make everything available for free!
free things are great, especially when you’re just starting to get into something. like oh, i’m supposed to spend money on this hobby i just picked up 20 minutes ago???
the first time i ended up on the site, i seriously spent hours just trawling through everything. there’s the usual suspects like knitting, crochet, embroidery, but there’s also woodwork, calligraphy, and books on things like how to mount and frame pictures. with cross stitch patterns, they also make modern charts with the dmc colour codes available.
links to their webbed site and instagram:

behold, a glorious cat cross stitch pattern (link goes to antique pattern library page):

The pattern that introduced my pastor to TAI (I was stitching this at a church craft night, and when I said it was a lyric he went “oh cool! what band?” and immediately pulled up YouTube. Shout out to Pastor Nick). Anyway, I love this song and I love this band, and if you don't yet, you should too. And then express your love by cross-stitching it. Get the pattern here!
