An interesting demonstration of how the human brain works.
But also something of a lesson regarding perception, and the unreliability of subjective perspective versus objective reality.
You can be extremely certain about how you perceive the world, your "lived experience," that which you "feel it in my heart." But that doesn't mean it's actually true. And it doesn't mean we have to endorse it, or ignore or outright deny objective reality.
‘this other doctor would have reacted in this way to lindy pepper-bean’
literally the whole point is that this would never have happened to the other doctors! she would have been a dickhead and selfish but it wouldn’t be that ending. she would have got on the tardis with a white person.
the POINT is that this happened to the doctor now, for the first time, because he is not in a white body. and he is facing that and the knowledge that many many other people he has saved before may not have trusted him if he had looked differently.
“why does 15 cry in every episode” because ncuti gatwa is the most beautiful crier in the whole wide world. do you go to art museums and complain about them using the color blue
Suzanne Collins really has the protocol down. On average twice a decade she writes a press release that's like "in one year there will be a new book and in two years there will be a movie based on said book. Here is the one philosopher I'll be referencing, and here is what upset me this time on the news enough to write another book. Enjoy!" and then she collects her millions, drops another banger, and doesn't go on twitter ever
A spoon's only objective in life is to make soup go upwards, and it knows this. That's why when you put one under a running tap it blasts the water way high. The spoon thinks there's suddenly TONS of soup to deal with and it freaks out.
idk i kind of hate the fanon concept that rose worshipped the ground the doctor walks on and never stood up to him just because she was in love with him because it’s absolutely not true! sure, they don’t have the type of banter donna has with ten but that’s because they’re very much on the same page in s2. s1 though? she is taking the piss out of him everytime they disagree.
s2 has less arguments not because she’s in love with him but because she’s becoming LIKE him. her morals are changing, her methods are changing. rose is a wonderfully strong character who always expresses her agency: like when she returns in the parting of the ways, or in doomsday or in the stolen earth, even when it’s against the doctor’s express wishes. everything that happens on bad wolf bay? she makes it her choice.
no, it’s the doctor who goes along with anything because he worships the ground she walks on. you’ve got it the wrong way around
