So anyone of African decent can practice voodoo but African-AMERICANS can practice hoodoo? I think I get the grasp of it I’m it African-American decent but I do have African ancestors and would like to know how to use voodoo to contact and connect to my ancestors as guides

Yes anyone of African decent can practice voodoo but you need to be initiated and claim your blackside. 

Hoodoo is open to everyone apart of the diaspora, however it’s mainly African Americans that practice because it started in America. But every diasporic territory  has it’s own version of “hoodoo”.
