MARILYN MONROE BY CECIL BEATON, 1956
Cecil Beaton had only one shoot with Marilyn Monroe, which took place at the Ambassador Hotel in New York in February 1956.
The photographer compared the actress to ‘an over-excited child asked downstairs after tea’ and added: "The initial shyness over, excitement has now got the better of her. She romps, she squeals with delight, she leaps on to the sofa. She puts a flower stem in her mouth, puffing on a daisy as though it were a cigarette. It is an artless, impromptu, high-spirited, infectiously gay performance".

The first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on August 1, 1995 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
The world was first introduced to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 1995. Back then it was all about showcasing the brand's lingerie in a surprisingly humble way — there was no glitter, definitely no wings and no musical act to headline the show. The styling in 1995 was about projecting an image of the woman inspired by Hollywood icon Sophia Loren and staying ahead of the curve, as underwear became the new outerwear.
Models: Magdalena Wróbel, Helena Barquilla, Valerie Jean Garduno, Heidi Klum and Frederique van der Wal

Vittoria Ceretti had the honor of being Lagerfeld’s last bride. On Instagram, the model wrote, “ ‘I woke up in the middle of the night and started drawing this dress for you. The next day I brought the paper in at Chanel and I told them ‘this is either for Vittoria or we’re not doing it.’ This is what Karl told me the last time I saw him in Paris at the fitting, wearing the bride dress. Just like every other time with him, my heart was fulfilled with love, happiness, and honor.”

“Irina Lazarenu was Lagerfeld’s mod muse in the late aughts. Her dollybird bangs made her the ideal bride to sport this minidress-and-thigh-high boot combo.”
