i have a little headcanon that virus didnt originally need glasses. that when toue messed with his eyes, the procedure wasn't perfected yet and it left virus with really bad vision, and he needed glasses after that. i feel like they wouldve done the procedure to virus first because hes older and then perfected it by the time trip was old enough to have the procedure done.
I never thought about it but that’ll be very possible. Poor him. It’ll be fun for Trip to make fun of it though.

OMG but that’ll be hilarious but very possible. I like to imagine he tried sometimes but ended give up so fast because it’s not his thing anyway and go outside to grab something to eat will be faster than do it himself.

Virus drabble
For @virus-week day 5: Fashion
Title: His Favorite Color is Green
Characters: Virus, Trip
Word count: 308
Warnings: None
Summary: Virus has his way of keeping mementos
“You’re getting scruffy,” Trip said skirting a finger down Virus’ jawline, “Time for a shave,” he added.
Virus tilted his head away from Trip’s trespassing finger, “Or I could just let it grow,” he said continuing to tap away at his coil. Toue had given orders not moments ago and Virus liked to utilize his time wisely.
“Why would you let it grow? You’ll look old,” Trip said rolling his chair nearer, continuing to invade Virus’ space.
“I am old,” Virus said unable to hide his smirk. He wasn’t old, he was just old enough to grow facial hair and Trip wasn’t, not yet. The younger had began his copy cat routine months ago and Virus enjoyed toying with it.
Trip sighed and leaned back in his chair. Virus stole a glance. A forlorn look and a distant gaze. Perfection.
“I’m thinking an anchor or perhaps a balbo style. What do you think?” Virus asked with a smile, turning to Trip.
Trip jerked himself from thought and answered, “Whatever you think is best…I prefer you clean shaven.” He emphasized the last bit.
Virus shrugged, “I’ll try it for a while and see how I like it,” he said before leaning over to Trip’s ear. “I was thinking about getting circumcised as well,” he whispered.
Trip gasped and turned wide, unbelieving eyes to Virus, who chuckled and leaned back.
“I was kidding,” he said holding up his coil and taking a picture. Trip’s eyes were beautiful, especially when bewildered. A shame that his other eye was due to be upgraded in a few days. The dual green and blue look held Virus’ attention in a way most things couldn’t.
“Why do you keep taking my picture?” Trip asked as Virus rose from the chair.
After a moment the elder answered, “Because looking myself in the eye will be boring.”

Virus drabble
For @virus-week day 4: Morphine (Yes, I’m just literally just writing these quickly cause I’m suddenly overwhelmed with Virus. I apologize for the lateness)
Title: To be Morphine
Characters: Virus, Trip
Word Count: 526
Warnings: None
Summary: The moment that inspired the name ‘Morphine’
The doctor’s were stingy, and quite frankly, they were tired of dealing with him, at least for the night.
“If he dies, he dies,” were the last words Virus heard as they left him strapped on the operating slab. He didn’t know who many seizures he had suffered. The procedure to his eyes had been complete but as soon as it was over he began having complications and the seizing began.
Virus turned his head and tried wiping the froth from his mouth with his shoulder. He knew another fit was on the way, his ears rang and the back of his head felt as if it would detach from the rest of him. He didn’t hear the patter of foot steps.
“Virus?” A voice asked. He couldn’t see but he knew who it was. Only one voice had ever held concern for him.
“Trip,” he acknowledged but didn’t know what else to say.
After a moment of silence Trip’s shaky voice spoke up again, “What can I do?”
Virus found a small laugh inside of him, “What can you do?” he mockingly repeated.
Another silence, “Well, I think there is some morphine-” Trip said before he was cut off.
“Yes! That! Give me that! Pump it in my IV!” Virus growled out, arching his back up as far as he could, the seize was coming.
“I don’t know how much-”
“All of it!”
“That’ll kill you!”
“Good!”
Another ringing silence, Virus gritted his teeth and turned head in the direction he thought Trip was in.
“You,” he gasped, “You either be my morphine and make my pain leave, or,” another gasp, “you be my morphine and kill me,” he choked out the last part before losing control of his body.
Virus felt terribly tired but his bladder was full and he needed to get up. After trying to rise he found he couldn’t. He suddenly remembered Trip had been with him last.
“Trip,” he whispered. There was a rustling sound beneath him.
“You’re alive!” the younger boy enthused in an exhausted voice. He had clearly been sleeping on the floor.
Virus shifted his hips, “I have to pee,” he said urgently, “Unstrap me.”
“I can’t, they’re padlocked,” Trip answered in a hopeful tone, meaning he had an idea.
After a second Virus felt something press against his thigh.
“Lift your hips,” Trip said. Virus wanted to contest, but his bladder said otherwise. He lifted his pelvis as high as he could and felt a bed pan slide beneath him. He felt humiliation as he relieved himself but he also felt gratitude.
“…Thank you,” Virus said as Trip slipped the pan out from under him.
Another long moment of silence followed. Virus wondered if Trip was still there, but then the boy spoke.
“I will be your morphine, Virus. I’ll either make your pain leave,” Trip took a breath, “or I’ll kill you if I can’t,” he finished. It was a strong statement for someone so young to make, but Virus couldn’t help but believe in it.
Virus nodded his head, “Good,” he said. For some reason his body relaxed and his mind felt at ease.
