"Inbetween Cracked Reflections"
Sometimes I want to crack, my internal hand mirror seems duller and destroyed making me wish I could just fade away.
But I can't really fade away, for the memories of me that once was of happiness will be only tainted with sadness.
I want to scream, but my screams will only be muted down from the buzzing static in my mind. As the never ending surrounding static, I am plagued with. Its noisy words that drown and beat down on my shoulders. its weight dragging each step i take down heavier and heavier.
I wish to stop inhaling for every breath I take and burn my eye ducts with unsheathed tears for the bottle that contains them is cracking and it's slowly dripping. a reservoir once strong breaking and crumbling down. A raging and weeping river wanting to crash and knock down all in its path, until its bitterness meets tanginess of crashing waves.
I wish to be drowned in the sea, only so that the salty waves can wisp away. to be engulfed in dark bodies where the only breathing things glow in luminous light.
Where breathes are exhaled in bubbles carrying away my troubles as my body grows light from the weight it carried.
I wish to be hidden away, the static buzzing fading into silence. I wish to simply fade away and to be remembered by the calls of a morning dove. To be carried by the fluttering wings of cardinals sent to give me eternal flight.
But then my face is hit by the sun's pestering light. My hearing is awakened by the silly calls of mockingbirds singing in delight. My aching body is soothed by the kneading paws of my feline claws. The static within me quiets with the occasional hushed morning crow call. I lay breathing in lighter puffs of air, the weight of my expectations being lighter as my fingers moved through soft fluffs of fur.
And maybe in time, with these cracked flections of mine, may once again shine with reflected the sun's loving light.

Chapter 9.
The death of Abel was a wake up call to a series of arguments and debates among the angelic council.
The holy ones, gods first children listened amongst their sections, their courts of all that speak on suggestions or ideas to fix the problem.
It wasn't the death of Abel that concerned them, it was the absence of reproducing from Adam and Eve that was the concern.
Both humans seemed to be raptured with grief so much that their main purpose was no longer seen as a desirable means to do so. Both did not seem to want to lay with each other to produce any child.
There was a suggestion of somehow bringing their second born back to life but a new problem arises when they could not find the soul of said child.
Only one that was smited could have no soul.
It was only One Seraphim who spoke up, begging the holy siblings to give her just one week and she will have both the humans back to their happy ways, and doing their one purpose of creating more humans, creating humanity just like they and the great father had wanted.
Sera was bold in her request, but heaven needed a leader to take more focus on humanity's progress and prepare heaven for the good souls that praised the lord's work and the creations of heaven.
Her delight was hidden as the Holy siblings, The lords first children allowed her to take onto her request, while she had their doubts they too still granted her wishes.
Sera had moved quickly, only a week to solve the grieving human's problems.
A week to ensure that her creation, Adam, would become once again loyal to the heavens as she saw him start to question heaven and their choices to his Wife Eve.
Shr had known that Eve had been questioning heaven and it was her questioning that influenced the bastard child to do the same and attack Adam's son, smiting him, accidental or not.
Sera could not accept that her creation was leading down a damned path like his wife. She had made him to be perfect, in her own image as much as the great fathers.
She would rebuild his strength, and she would ensure that he would make it into the heavens gates no matter what she must do.
Which is why she went into Metatrons extensive scroll room, collecting the scroll of where the forbidden gardens were hidden and moved to find it.
You were the key to her success.
After all, Adam did plant a seed within you.
And when she found you laying, the picture was perfectly frozen in place in great slumber.
A sacrificial spouse better than any lamb she could ever see be offered to the heavens, she began her work.
Placing a hand above your abdomen she focused herself on the unapproved and yet approved blessing unknown by the holy ones, she conducted above your womb.
The glow from her hands in holy light landed on your form, absorbing into your skin, through your twisted flesh and into the small womb you carried.
Sera watched as your Abdomen jerked, before a swell started she had to concentrate dearly as she felt your body's inability to such bodily function fight against her.
The infertility of your womb twitching and trying to squeeze out the blessing too soon.
She placed both hands on your abdomen, her wings splaying out as she forced more of the holy divine light into your body, forcing it to take hold of the blessing she was forcing onto your unconscious form.
She ignored the tears that formed down your cheeks.
Ignored how your eyes fluttered behind closed eyelids, or how your lips moved to one of pain.
for if you were to wake, she would only remind you that your only purpose was to make the two humans happy.
That enduring temporary discomfort and pain would bring them happiness before she ensured that you were forced back into your restful slumber.
The swell of your Abdomen grew larger and larger as her hands speeded up the nine months progress that Eve had taken to fully develop a human child into the matter of three days.
By the time your stomach had no room to give up any space for such a child, Sera pulled her hands away watching the skin stretch by the little kicks of forced life inside of you. She smiled as she watched your body spasm.
Nature taking its course as she watched the contractions involuntarily form, your body jerking.
The small trickle of golden blood leaving your inner thighs turning into a rushing ocean wave.
Your mouth flinched, a heavy wheeze leaving your lips in a pathetic noise.
Sera merely spread your legs holding her hands out as the crowning of the child's head started to form.
She did not offer you any praise, if anything her impatience grew as your body struggled to give birth to life.
She did not offer you any comfort, as a cry left your lips your facial reflection turning into discomfort and agony.
And when the child's head was pushed through your exhausted body, She had grabbed it and ripped him out of you, not offering much concern over the sound of flesh tearing from you.
The wailing childs call was all she cared for as she moved the young one in her arms gently, staring down on him, her eyes ever softening.
The perfect reflection of her own perfect creations.
Her gaze distracted on the wailing child, an exact little replica of his father, Her creation Adam. Yet a wail left your slumbering lips brought her attention back, Contractions moving from your body forcefully.
Tears rushing down your cheeks quicker than the gushing blood from your thighs as another wail left your lips.
Crowning began to form once again, but it was no child's head, but a wing.
Sera only held the wailing child closer to her chest as she watched in surprise as your body kept fighting and struggling to push out whatever else had grown in your womb by her blessing.
another wing
There was the sound of your tearing flesh and anguish screams, as something elongated was being pushed from your exhausted body.
two more wings
and then another.
And finally, with an exhausted whine, and the panting and spasming of your body, you expelled the form out of your nearly broken body.
a round crystalline ball of light six wings glowed between your legs.
An Egg that shimmered brightly.
a child truly divine.
Sera had ignored your body for she grabbed and held the egg close to her as well looking at it with astonishment.
With haste she took flight and left the gardens, left you covered in your own blood and cold, emptiness washing over you unconscious form as your mental state broke within as you were consciously aware the whole time as she took from your body without so much as a please let alone a small thank you.
For the seraphim only concerns were what is in her own arms, the labor your body broke apart for.
A child for humans.
and a child for her.
She took the crystallized egg to her home wrapping it in the finest clothes and blankets and with the screaming child in her arms she washed it clean from the blood of your womb and changes from her blood stained robes before destroying them.
With fine silks she wrapped the child, swaddling him well before ascending down from the heavens to place the wailing child at the entrance of Adams and Eves cave before ascending up to the sky hidden in the clouds and stars.
She watched as the two humans emerged from their cave, confusion written on their faces to their surprise as Eve gathered the small life in her arms. Both of them looked at the child in confusion before both variants of golden eyes looked up to the heavens, one of surprise, suspicion and the other of awe and wonder vise versa than she had liked.
They had accepted the child as their own, Eve at least did without second thoughts, bringing in the wailing boy and tending to him immediately. She cared for him and gave him love that every child deserves to be given, wrapping him in Cain and Abels old blankets and little robes she set aside for any more little sons Adam would plant in her womb. While she could not provide milk of her own for the child, she did not have to walk far to get it as the flock had plenty of mothering sheep to feed hungry lambs.
And while her focus had been on the child which she had waited for Adam to name, she did not notice how distant her husband uncharacteristically was towards the child.
Adam was not near the small boy at all.
And it had worried her, as for he was very involved with their first two children…Adam was very instinctive with children and she always saw him as a great father to their children..To see him so distant and into the young boy that was even given to them from the heavens themselves, had…shocked her completely.
She softly looked at the sleeping boy in her arms, tired of doing nothing but eating and cooing at her, yes truly a lot of effort for such a little ome indeed, she had swaddled hum away into Abels old cot before she moved out of the cave shutting the door to keep anything unwanted out and away from her third son. She looked for Adam, not finding him in the fields nor in the pens with the flock with a nervous glance to the close door of the cave she ventured outwards, the peaceful and serene creek did not have her husband, nor did the bittersweet whimsical meadows. Eve felt a great sadness clutch into her chest as the tall grasses hit at her robes as she moved through them towards the place where the winds carried salt in the air.
She had avoided the meadows, for it bow harbored loss there.
her bare feet pressed into warm gritty sand and she made her way down its up and down dunes closer to the waters, she scanned the beach turning and heading to where the sands turn into rocks. Where Adam would boil the seas waters to make their salt that they used to not only flavor their foods but store their meat in to preserve.
There not by the boiling pot but further down the rocks where the ocean beat against it she found him sitting at the edge.
She had carefully neared him, noticing how he did not turn to look at her not once even as she sat next to him.
His arms were around his robed covered knees as he stared off emotionlessly out on the sea's waves as if searching for something.
She had turned her head to search as well, not speaking, for if she asked he would not tell her, even when she could sense something wrong in his mind. So she sat beside him searching for whatever answers he was looking out for with him.
"Shouldst thou not be with yon lad?” Adams' voice was faint, his eyes not leaving the waters and she did not move here from them either.
"He doth sleepeth, I hath wished to be in thy presence, if it doth please thee.” She softly answered him, hoping he would not refuse her company, but if he did sue would leave and try another day.
He merely heard a sound digging into his throat but he did not speak of her to leave and so she stayed by his side watching the ocean waves clash against the gray crustacean covered rocks.
"Thou hadst not bestowed upon him a title.” She softly speaks after a short while of silence hearing a noise leave Adam.
"I see it not wise for me to christen him.” Adam muttered quietly and it was as if the clashing of seafoamed waves were wishing to hide his voice from her ears, but she had indeed heard him and she turned to look at him in curiosity.
"Thou dost not desire to christen our newborn son?” She softly asked him and she watched how his arms tighten around his knees pulling them tighter to his chest as his eyes narrowed at the waters. She had thought it was in anger, but she would be wrong in that assumption.
"He cannot be my own offspring.” He spoke with a sharpness on his tongue, the rejection of the small boy had surprised her and she looked at him with wide honey brown eyes.
"The heavens hath bestowed this boy upon us—"
"Now they do approach us? After I hath once again faltered? But instead of a fresh spouse, or another akin to my own cherished Echo, hath they taken our y/n, only to grant a son to supplant those I failed?” Adams voice had rose bitterness on his tongue as he hissed out words from clenched teeth. It had caused Eve to jump as she looked at him as if he was a stranger. Adam had never displayed such an attitude towards the heavens, even after their banishment he had believed if he showed how devoted he was they would bring them back to the gardens one day, but this?
She saw a glistening form in his eyes and he moved to bury his face into himself, his arms sliding up his knees to hide his face into them.
“She was right…”
She heard his wavering voice let out, making her question and moving a gentle hand to his back, her brows knitting together.
“Whom?” She had asked him, unsure of who he was speaking about although the tightening of her stomach seemed to give her warning of her suspension.
With the smallest turn of his head one of his eyes had been revealed to her, she could see tears welling up in it and knew the other one was on the verge of dripping as well as he stared at her so broken with one eye.
"Lilith... She spoke the truth to me... Ere she departed... ere thou wert formed, she had spoken that 'twas I, betwixt us twain, who was wrought amiss. I was the flawed creation 'twixt our kind... The seraphims did bid me to heed not her words, claiming she bore the flaw, not I... Yet now I perceive her variety.” He voice wavered, falling to a whisper thay the crashing waves wanted to so desperately hide away from her.
Eve had taken in his words and so quickly went to dismiss them, to insist that they were wrong as she moved her other hand towards him to watch him shrug away from her touches. His own words muted the ones she could barely get off her tongue as he moved from his arms to look at her with such a distant look in his blurry eyes.
"Thou knowest it to be true... I knoweth she must have divulged all about me to thee... and it must indeed be true... I mean she hath found a new spouse and they did depart sans quandaries... I hath needed the heavens to shape thee from mine own flesh for thee to hold affection for me, and even then thou too wouldst hath departed; hence they wrought y/n... They created them for I am so flawed at being a spouse that they required y/n to prevent thee from harboring disdain and departing as Lilith did... and even then... I failed at being Lilith's spouse... I am failing at being thin... I have failed at safeguarding thee, leading to our exile... I have failed y/n, they are being taken away from us... I have even failed at being a father…”
She could only watch as Adam dug his palms into his eyes as his shoulder began to rock, she could hear so much pain in his voice and didn't know how to mend his woes.
"Our sons are departed because of me... for I could not shield them, for I am naught… a blot of wretchedness... y/n hath declared it untrue, but it is so... I bring forth harm…” He heaved, digging his palms so harshly into his eyes as to paint himself of his own tears.
Eve could not stand for doing nothing and she moved, taking his hands with her own prying them away from his eyes, waiting how tightly he squeezed them shut.
"Thou art not... Thou art fashioned in God's image. How can thou be flawed?... 'It's we who art flawed.” She tried to comfort him, watching how he shook his head, his eyes opening and his hands moving in her own grasp to gently hold her wrists.
"I cannot be in His image... all I do is fail... I failed our sons... I failed my own offspring... if I had been better, they both would still be here... if I were better, we wouldn't be hither, but back home... we would be home... And they merely watched... they watched as mine own sons tore each other asunder…” His words rambled as he collapsed into her warm, his face hiding into her shoulder as he sobbed among it. Her hands found places in his hair and on his back as Adam sobbed into her hold, her protection. She did not know what to do other than hold him and let him let out his sorrows and it was until he was sniffling she softly whispered.
"Thou art but a man... What else couldst thou hast done?” She meant it comfortingly, meant to ease him as she heard his breath hitched.
"That day, I couldn't have asked Cain for his aid in tending the new field... perchance if I had... Or I couldst hath tasked Abel with extending the pen southward... but instead, I watched as they took off together... I couldst hath prevented it from occurring…” He let out a broken whisper. his arms had found a way around her holding her so tightly as if he was afraid she would vanish if he let go.
She wasn't sure how to help him, for her own heart bled out for the loss of her two sons. She too had questioned and still questioned what she could have done differently that day to have their boys with them. To watch her sons bicker across the suppers fire and to watch Adam scold them and tease them as well until she made him stop.t
"How couldst we hath known?” She had only asked as she felt her own eyes stinging as she held Adam tightly to her.
"I should hath given Cain the flock... and Abel the fields... perchance if I had, they would not hast quarreled... What if they deemed I favored one over the other? ... I cherished them both equally... this is my doing…” His rasped voice filled her ears, Her husband blaming himself for events that were not in his control.
She only shook her head against him.
"They took pride in the tasks thou gavest them…”She had whispered to him, only feeling the shake in his body against her
"Then wherefore?... wherefore did they not intervene then? Wherefore did they not halt mine own sons from destroying each other... Wherefore do they reach out to us now after all, with a replacement who canst not fill Abel's nor Cain's stead…” He had brokenly questions, for the first real time he questioned the Heavens' choices.
And her lips opened to speak but falling silent, for she did not know what to say to answer for the heavens. She did not know why now they come for them, why now they turn back to them after abandoning them for so long. But her husband's broken state had brought her pain and she could not bear to see it.
"They must feel guilt for their neglect.” She spoke to him, forcing confidence in her answer even though she did not believe the words herself. The heavens only worked for their own gain she knew that deep down in her own heart. They lie.
But to see Adam grow faithless did not bring her pleasure, to see him grow insecure had only worried her.
The days moved on as they always did and she watched how Adam pulled away from his devoted faith, the loss of their sons pulling him to a familiar state she had seen him in before shortly after their banishment.
She was alone in tending to the new child as she was as she watched Adam crumble once again.
She would not pray to the heavens. She could not partake in their cruel games.
she will handle this in her own way.
and she did
And so she had left the child in his cot the next morning and left the cave, she spent the day by herself to reflect on everything. She spent the day focusing on her needs, allowing herself to express her pain alone in the meadows where she could cry over her two sons.
She would always love them both so dearly and she hoped they would understand why she gave this new child her love as well. She hoped they would understand that she did not see the new child as a replacement for either of them, but a child heaven threw at her to play with her motherly love, and it was working.
She was destined to be a mother, much as Adam was to be a father.
She begged for Cain's and Abels forgiveness at her and Adam being such clueless parents, that they could not stop what had happened to the two brothers.
"Forgive us, my sons... for we were created and cast adrift with none to guide us. We were fashioned to be a father and mother with none of our own to instruct us on what such words truly entail... we still are learning what it even means to be a husband, to be a wife to each other…” She whispered upon the meadows whispering winds.
She had returned by dusk to the cave. She would beg forgiveness from Adam for just leaving him but when she entered the cave she was met with a sight she wasn't sure she would see again.
Rods of searing meat cooked over the fire and vegetables roasting in a clay bowl in the ashes.
Adam sat by the fire, with the new son in his arms, swaddled and warm, drinking sheep's milk from Adam's fingers, and while tears still seemed to stream down her husband's mourning eyes, he looked at the child with hesitated love, acceptance.
She found herself by Adam's side leaning her head on his shoulder as she watched him.
"Wilt thou bestow upon him a title?” She softly whispered, feeling him stiffen under her cheek.
"I fear I will lose him... as I have lost all the others…” He whispered fearfully as he looked at her with such emotion.
"I know not if I can bear losing another…”
And she knew he wasn't just talking about children. But the people he loved and adored, his family.
"Then permit me to christen them, so they may not be taken.” She whispered back, offering to take away Adam's responsibility to name the living.
a task he so willingly gave up.
trusting her entirely.
Eve had taken the child from Adam looking down at the child the Heavens tried offering as a replacement for their two previous sons.
in some petty attempt at an apology of their failure to act.
And while she would love this child wholeheartedly as her own, raise him with love as she did the first two, she would not let the heavens forget what this child was for…
So she named him Seth.
Heaven's replacement.
The heavens were quick to praise Sera for her quick work at mending the two humans' emotional states and having them back at fulfilling their purpose. As within a few months after Sera had created the smallest human Seth for Adam and Eve to care for, Eve had once again grown pregnant with another child, another of many to come. She had accepted the praises amongst her sisters and brothers, and the ones given by the Holy siblings they watched them all from.their high station's. Sera tried to remain humble so as not to be questioned for how such a feat was accomplished, nor why she always seemed to leave the present and upcoming meetings so early.
An action that brought suspicion from the Holy siblings above.
While participating in what blessings the heavens would provide upon the two human family and to keep their faiths strong in the pearly gates, Sera's attention was pulled to the nest that was hidden in her own home.
Each day after long hours of devoted work of the holy divine she would enter her home eagerly and head to the next with the crystalline egg, watching its small wings flutter as she would take it into her arms offering it warmth and care. She had thought by now that it would have hatched and the divine child inside would finally show its face to her, it had not seemed to want such desires as it stayed in its shell protected.
Sera did not have impatience with the unhatched child, unlike she had with your withering and pain filled body.
She had shown the egg gentle and loving care to the highest degree showing much respect to its time and need at a slow pace at forming, unlike she had in forcing your body to rapidly grow with pregnancy, labor and birth.
This divine child already mattered so much to her, merely a step above from her first creation Adam, as she knew this child would be a perfect reflection of herself.
A child solely formed in her own image.
She could easily forget that this child was a human and not truely hers.
She had already began a list of divine names to give the unhatched child, as gender did not truly matter for the truly divine like her own kind, and with the high praises she gained for her success and the newly appointed position to make all decisions regarding to blessings to humanity and human souls, as the Holy Siblings had announced that the heavenly father was pulling their attentions elsewhere to more important matters, Sera knew that no one would dare question her authority or question where her little one came from when they hatched.
Muh like they Hadn't questioned how she “created” Seth for Adam and Eve.
Or so she foolishly believed.
It was hearing the great father call upon to head towards the gardens is what brought suspicion from the eldest sister. Metatrons checked the room of her weld stored scrolls an area where very few had the privilege of entering and found the scrolls in an array, with a simple sent word to the other Holy siblings they all took flight and found themselves in the gardens taking in the sight of the one who was supposed to be in peaceful slumber, disarray and covered in dried golden blood.
Raphael had been the one to let visible and Soundful enragement and mourning out of his body as he quickly approached your suffering from his hands coating in green as he placed them upon your body. He mended your abandoned forced injuries, moving a hand to sew the tearing of life that had occurred from between your legs.
“Verily, how can one of our own allow such a hand at something so cruel and unjust? What punishment shall be laid upon her? How do we right the wrongs inflicted on this slumbering child?” Raphael had shouted at them, for an angel to weep was a rare occurrence but the state your body was left abandoned in was worth the tears that left one of the middle siblings' eyes as he tended to you carefully, too afraid to cause you more traumatic harm than holy good.
Azreal had come to their brothers and placed a hand on Rapheal's shoulder before summoning a washing bowl with another before they carefully worked on washing the crusted blood from your skin.
Their veiled covered eyes moved to stare at the eldest and youngest among them.
“I doth fear to confess that leaving one in slumber where they could not awake to defend themselves may have been more cruel than allowing my gentle hands to end their breathing.” Azreal had spoken lightly, the blue smokey whisps leaving their lips as they moved a gentle hand cupped with a wet cloth to remove the stains on your thighs.
“The one who did this handled them with careless disregard, devoid of love, and lacking even the decency of respect as the heavens would to an offered lamb... even towards carefully placed fruits and vegetables…” It was the youngest among them that spoke, Gabriel who looked upon his holy siblings with great disdain, perhaps it was what aided in Michael's emotions.
"They should have their wings removed and cast out to be-"
"Nay.” Metatrons many voices silenced her younger, silencing them all as her eyes ever glowed more brightly, the trillions of their fathers buried into her ear as her eyes temporarily borrowed to see what the great father allowed her to see, her lips and voices echoing their fathers sights,
the vision that plagued her eyes, a perfect to be forgotten until it's time is strucken.
"A silver blade, piercing into a chest of gold,
Enrapturing the spirit clean, to erase
The wails and tears of one ordained and the other damned,
Falling onto a seeded husk of blessings.
Their love, still ever strong, causes it to sprout
And grow into the most serene and vicious of flowers.
Their fruits filled with repurposed life,
A final and yet second chance of finding heaven's love,
With the grower as the protector of realms between,
Aided by one who had wandered between them for eons.
The middle, branching between two kingdoms,
And the leader to temporarily lifetime guardians.
And lo, a ongoing war brought to peace with wings of coal and gold,
A halo made from horns.”
The siblings listened to their eldest sisters fortelling their fathers visions in eerie silences watching as her bright glowing eyes dulled to their normal state, void of color and falling on them and not towards the great beyonds.
Their eye falling onto you, while some in pain for you others in worry, some in solidarity as they listened to their eldest sisters next instructions very carefully, they were to follow their fathers wishes and while some weep for the misfortune of more responsibility fallen on your slumbering form, the others held your body gently as glowing of the divine left their fingertips swelling around you like vines as they whispered blessed words for you.
"Now must we take their heart and split it between Adam and Eve, taking the other halves of their own and placing them in their chests.” Metatrons spoke, her words urgeing a hush choked cry of Raphael, as he move his hands to your chest to offer you as little pain as he can as two other siblings split it apart from the seams to take the pure golden organ and took flight to split it amongst the two humans, returning back with one half a golden heart with the faintest of black veins moving through its pumping flesh and another dark as a moonless light.
The holy siblings stitched the halves together to make one and placed it inside of your chest watching their blessing that took the shape of vines pulling your limbs back together, leaving your chest slowly moving up and down as your slumber did not lessen.
They, while knowing you should have always been left alone to slumber, agreed that they would take turns visiting the gardens to ensure you will never be found in such an array again and that if they found another besides them in the forbidden sacred gardens they would strike them down to hell where they surely belong.
They did not understand why the father would allow the one who brought such suffering among you to stay in their sacred realms but they knew not to question their parents, for he could see things far beyond their understanding of comprehension.
They pulled away from their involvement leaving it in the hands of those who were soiled, by their fathers wishes, merely appointing an underling to send words to keep them updated of the state of affairs before they joined their fathers presence.
Time, while having very little meaning in the great heavens , had a very different effect on the Earth. And one above had waited eagerly and nervously for this day, the day when her perfect creation would finally arrive though the heavens gates.
He had too, She would make sure of it, no matter what.
Others unbeknown to the ever eager one watched as well from their pulled away distances, For if said creation does step across the golden gates then their fathers words would ring true and a great fate would be set in place.
While they didn't age exactly the same as humans in modern times will, still over nine hundred years had begun to wear their bodies down.
They were here, the first steps of humanity on this earth, they grew to survive the planet's harsh conditions, they learned to grow, to build, they took and they gave, They saw death and they saw life, one even birthed it, while another praised.
They laughed, They cried, they learned joy and sadness. Love and forgiveness.
No longer had they lived in a little cave but in a house not far from it, not wanting to be so far away from where they started.
Laughter and noises echoed from outside the log built walls of their home. Their children now grown old, outside tending to little ones of their very own children. With partners made from their own ribs much like their own parents and great grandparents had been.
And while some grandchildren and Great Grandchildren wanted to pester their Great grandparents for stories, to play, to teach, they were ushered away by their parents, uncles and aunts.
It was a delicate time after all.
Adam moved with stiffness moving through his bones, his body weighed heavy despite still looking young and filled with life. His arm delicately wrapped around Eves, Their pace slowed from their home down a familiar trail, as he did not want her to pain her knees any more than they were already feeling.
He felt the soft squeeze of her hand turning his head to look into her worn but still lovely honey eyes.
“You look tired, dearest.” She softly spoke, her mourning dove voice had weakened into the dusk. Yet he smiled at her in adoration and love, as he could still hear the crisp mourning doves melody in her tones from when they first met each other up in the paradise they had both lost.
“I am.” He softly answers her as he turns his own worn eyes ahead of the path.
It was a strange thing to hear him agree too, Eve had thought as they moved along the path. In all the time on earth after the passing of their two sons Cain and Abel, Adam kept himself busy never admitting how tired or exhausted he was, always trying to find ways to provide for their newest child Seth and even newer ones, Seth's siblings. which soon became their Sons and Daughters families as well and on and on. And while Adam had banished away a few of them who had done things that would be deemed dangerous to the family, The village they both created.
The parents of their legacy, and unknowingly, Yours too.
Humanity
The ones of pure hearts that could fly high,
The curious ones that were damned from the start,
And unknowingly, The redeemable ones with so much love that they can earn a second chance.
All running in humanity veins.
They approached the old caved home they had started in on earth, a familiar reminder of the home they had both lost in Eden as well of the painful mark of their beloved spouse they had taken away from them.
The old worn blogged doors did not struggle with Adam pulling it open, a pained groan leaving his lips as his body fought against the strain of itself no longer wanting to stretch like they had hundred of years ago with ease. Eve had moved a hand to his back, softly rubbing at the tension that built inside of his muscles and tendons. They both moved inside of the cave finding the old worn bed Adam had built for them and both sat on it, even leaning into his shoulder as they both took in their old worn home.
The worn and termites eaten tables and shelves Adam had built for them, old clay bowls cracked and chipped worn for the few years they used them, or little ones dropped on the ground by accident needing Eve to repair them with more clay.
The old playpen area where a few of their children were put into play or to sleep.
nearly two decades of life in this cave, and three sons raised.
They both reminisced the good times they both shared in the home, memories they wished you had been apart off, they both thought of the bad times, moments of regret they had now long accepted was unchangeable.
Eve moved her face closer to Adam's shoulder, enjoying the comfort he provided her, the safety and love he shared for her, the forgiveness he had blessed her with.
Adam moved resting his cheek on top of his wife's head, softly feeling her hair tickle his nose as he closed his eyes, the sweetness of the flora entwined in her hair engulfed him in peace. She gave him so much and he was so grateful that he had her when they fell from paradise's light. She had been so patient with him, allowing him to learn to change, to grow, to develop into the good husband he was always told to be but never shown.
She gave him so much more than what heaven ever had, a family, a home.
And as his chest started to stutter with his intakes of breath and he faintly felt her warm gentle fingers digging into his skin.
His mind was drifting from him, he could hardly even hear the soft cries from his wife's name, the panic and heartbreak of his name falling from her lips.
“Adam.”
“Adam please no..”
“Please, Adam please don't.”
“They wont let me be with you..”
His body felt like it was floating, he didn't even notice how his distressed wife had laid him down on their worn bed, nor how she pulled at his robes as she begged him to not mimic the breathing of a dying old goat from one of their flocks. Her tears fell soaking into his skin and clothes as she begged him to open his worn golden eyes to prove that he was still full of life that his youthful body still liked to portray.
“I want to go with you, Adam please, I want to be with you, with y/n..please…”
Soft cries of weeping mourning doves sang in his drifting ears, he never liked that sound, the sound of his wife crying. His strength left him, making his worn pathetic limbs strain more as he moved a weak hand on top of hers.
His lips felt like they were stuck together with clay and dust he once came from.
“We'll be in another's arms again..”
Words he had only prayed that fell on his wifes weeping ears, as his chest heaved once and twice more before stilling under her warm clenched palms.
Her lips apart screaming, sending him away with the sound of wailing doves to heaven's grace.

Chapter seven
Months continued to draw by and each one Adam had became very devoted to Eve's care and health.
Each month his loving life blessed him with the image of life growing inside of her as your stomach grew larger and larger.
With each month passed his wife became more demanding of him, requesting him to hunt certain animals no matter how dangerous they could be for him to strike down with his spear. A nasty five line scar on his side healed by her soothing salves was proof of that when she demanded to have a bear for a super and next day's meal.
Bruises coloring his backside from when he fell from a tree when Eve whined to him for wanting only the highest fruit as they tasted the sweetest.
She would even wake him from his deepest slumber in the night, wanting him to leave the warmth of their caved home to gather honey from sleeping bees.
He would grumble in blooming annoyance or her demands but then seeing the image of her placing her hands to rest on her swollen abdomen that carried a growing child with her soft glowy face as she whined for whatever it was she so desperately needed him to gather or hunt would make his eyes soften and mood shift to a serving one.
He began waking up earlier as well way before morning's light, not because he had too but simply because he wanted to. He liked the peace he had in the morning where he could lay beside his beloved wife and watch the fire's light dance on her glowing features as she laid beside him.
She had this glow to her skin, and a shine to her hair that had formed shortly after the ball of life in her stomach had started glowing. Her gentle features became even softer as she slept beside him. He loved waking up to simply admire her and her beauty, before he would get up to find her a filling meal for the day.
This part of her pregnancy had brought a simple joy to Adam as he carefully prodged  over her swollen stomach before laying a hand on there holding his breath for a moment before he felt the ball of life inside of his wife kick back at his hand. A hush chuckle left him as he pressed his fingers into Eve's stomach feeling the little ones kicking against them.
The little one had started this development months ago, For eve had been the one to so eagerly show him when the first kicks had started. It wasn't long until she had later told him that sometimes the little ones kicking had hurt.
He wondered how long until they could meet Eves and Your little one.
Adam watched as his wifes sleeping face contorted a murmured groan from her lips made him feel guilty as he softly rubbed at her stomach in apology for riling up the little one from its slumber. He moved to his hands and knees softly kissing her stomach before moving up to kiss her cheek before climbing away from their furred bed making sure she was securely covered in the thickest of blankets  before getting up for the day.
Adam had gotten up early gathering his spear strapping it onto his back with a leather strap Eve had made for him and gathering a woven bag from his wife's hands tie8ng it to his person.
His wifes soft snores hitting his ears as he turned to watch her sleep, furred blankets bundled around her tightly and some even folded under her stomach cushioning it more from the lower blankets that covered the floor.
He had stopped in his movements to simply watch her breath and exhale in her sleep, sometimes he allowed his mind to play tricks with him.
To picture you sleeping beside her, arms curled from behind her, your face buried into the back of her shoulder.
You would have your arm protectively placed on her stomach protecting the ball of life inside your shared beloved wife. How you open your e/c eyes to look at him tiredly seeing if he would request your help in his hunting.
He would have requested you to tend to Eve.
Adam shook his head allowing himself to smile fondly at his wife before quietly leaving the cave, heading down to where the air changed tasting of salt and became more breezy, where the forest changed to wide open meadows to golden sandy beaches.
Being on earth allowed them both to learn of new things, like new bodies of water that opened up to new food possibilities.
The sound of soothing crashing waves would wash up the beat tasting morsels if you awoke right before the sun just as the first light was peaking on the land.
He enjoyed mornings like this, where the sky was painted of bright colors and the soothing sound of the washing waves calmed any quells in his soul. He moved down to the wetten sand using his spear to move the sand as the waves washed around it and his feet, as his spear hit softly against what he was searching for he tipped it causing the two shelled creatures to fly from its buried state. He bent over gathering the clam and dropping it into his wifes woven basket before continuing on to gather more.
He would also gather bunches of washed up seaweed for his wife to make soothing salves with and store for when they needed to apply it to wounds or to ichy or sun dried skin, more for his sake than hers.
He also gathered a few pretty shells for Eve,seeing as his wife had liked making new things she calls necklaces and ear prettys.
He had thought them to be ridiculous at first but as she made some and excitedly showed him her small collection she made for himself, he found himself taking time to find pretty stones, rocks and shells to take to Eve for her necklaces and ear prettys.
He reached a spot on the beach that was covered in large stones, a small area having a rocky fire pit he had built with a giant clay bowl he had Eve make for him a few days ago. He had not explained why despite her confusion, not because he didn't feel the need too, he simply had not wanted to excite his wife to lead to disappointment if he was wrong.
He wondered what made his and Eves hair so stiff and their clothes as well when they left the Beaches waters.
Then
Days ago he had found dead fish on the beach, far from the water, stiff and crystallized, but it did not seem like sand had made it so stiff and crunchy, the meat seemed almost safe to eat, had it not been for how unsure he was of it being dead, or what could have possibly ate half of it before he had found it…
so he had Eve make a bowl for him, after he built this fire pit on the beach, he had carried it to the beach and filled it with the salty tasting water and set it over a low flame and left it for days to slowly cook and boil the water.
As he now five days later approached the pit he could see the smoke of a dying fire as he neared it, hoping that his thoughts were correct as he neared the smoldering clay pot, he crouched down beside it moving the branches he set on top to keep it covered and then the large dried withered leaves and peered down inside.
The brown oranged clay cowl was covered in white crystals all around, not at all like the sand in the beaches. He moved a stone carved blade from his robes folds and scraped it against the white crystals watching how easily they crumbled under his blade, he worked carefully scraping it all around the bowl, crunching them until it was a sandy powder. With a curious look he gathered his blade and brought it up to his face, eyeing it carefully before forking out his tongue to lick at the powder.
Its sharpening bitter tangy and salty taste melted on his tongue  much too quickly for him to adjust to it, making him sputter and choke as his eyes watered. It was far stronger than the beach's waters and he turned his head far from the clay bowl to spit out the taste from his lips. Despite his clear disgust at the over sensitivity of taste, excitement had filled Adam as his next actions was to cut leather from his robing to place the powdery sand in its middle and bunch the leather around it tying it shut with a thin strap before placing the pouch into the folds of his robes.
He gathered bowl carrying it back to the waving sea filling of its salty waters and back to the pit, filling it more with wood from the forest he had piled beside it days ago he brought the beach pit to flames once more and left it to gather more large leaves to place on top of the bowl to cover it shut and place wooden logs on top to keep the leaved weighed down and in place.
Once he had finished he moved on down the rocks that entered the beach's waters, then he gathered more taste morsels to fill Eve's woven basket up with them.
By the start of noon, Adam was heading back to their caved home. His excitement of the new powdery discovery died as he approached hearing loud piercing shrills of something so tenderly pathetic.
He pulled open the log door looking inside to find the blankets of their furred bed in disarray, small movement from it as the shrills came from it, but his attention was brought to all the red that stained the blankets, smeared across the cave floor in puddles to a back wall where his scratching eyes finally landed on his wife.
Eve cowardly went to the wall, her hair a mess and clung to her in sweat, her soft sobs wracking her body as she held her knees with bloodied hands, a pool of blood surrounding her.
He approached her first in concern, falling to his knees in front of her, unbothered by the blood that soiled them as he reached his hands to her.
“Eve.” He spoke softly as he tried to reach her only to watch and she coward away from him, her honey eyes opening in panic
“Halt!” She spoke sharply, causing him to father as he stared at her tear stained face.
"Verily, I am tainted, Adam. To lay thy hand upon me would but deepen thy damnation.” She sobbing out in gentle wails as she moved away from him. Though Adam did not understand as he looked upon her, she was covered in blood, so much of it, but she was as she always was, she had no resemblance of a snake. He cupped her cheeks wiping her tears with the pads of his roughen thumbs.
"I discern no impurity, but rather concern for thy well-being. Art thou injured?” He asked as his eyes moved to the puddle of blood she sat in with worry.
"To heal this affliction, might salves offer solace to thy wound?”
His eyes moved to meet Honeyed gold ones that wavered at him, tears falling from their glow but Eve's  did not part to tell him what to do. Another high pitched shrill from behind him echoed amongst the cave walls, making him turn his head to the messy array of blankets, he moved to stand to head towards it when bloodied hands grabbed at his wrist.
"Prithee, do not, for at the sight thereof, thou shalt deem me unclean, and thus depart. I beseech thee, stay, and forsake me not.” Eve begged, Adam had turned his head to take in her fearful gaze at him, and yet another wail from the blankets gathered his attention as he took his wrist from his and neared the furrs, carefully going on his knees he moved the blankets from the small moving thing and then revolted backwards as he stared into the image of the ball of life he had cherished in his wifes stomach hours before.
It was not of you at all.
Its skin is unlike the three of you all together.
Bright red circles burned into its cheeks and eyes open like the snake that had sired it.
Adam felt disgust move through him as the little fein had an extra limb that moved like a body of a serpent coiling around its one little legs.
He could hear Eves sobbing behind him, as he turned his head from the little snake in front of him. Its wails echoing over his beloved's wifes sobs and echoing through the cave's walls.
And yet, he did not get up and leave.
He forced himself to turn back to stare at the little feinds moving towards it and picking it up in a blanket staring down at it, watching how it's yellowed slit eyes morphed to a soft wonderfully familiar e/c. The red cheeks dullen and its inhuman skin changed to a soft light s/c tone. It's the blackened nose of a goat morphing into a soft human like one mimicking your own, The tail wrapped around its leg fading from sight as it looked up at him and cried, wailing for attention and comfort.
Adam turned his head again, closing his stinging eyes, his chest aching with pain and sorrow.
Not even a few hours alive and it has already lied and played tricks like its  true sire.
already a true snake.
And yet Adam did not drop the small thing in disgust. Did not find it in his heart to hate it like he had with its true father, he looked into those little e/c eyes with tears stinging his own as he moved a gentle finger to trace at its small nose it falsified to look like yours, before moving his hand down where little fingers wrapped around it. The little thing stopped all its wailing and stared up at him with gentle soft noises, soft coos of sweetness.
"Let us bestow upon him a noble name, one befitting his worth.” Adams words hit Eves as she looked up seeing her husband turn to him, the snake wrapped in her husband's arms in the tormenting image it too hard played on her. She looked up at Adam in astoundment, taking in how watery his blazing eyes looked as he looked back down to the snake's sired son.
"Doth thou desire to bestow upon it a name?” She asked her husband dumbfoundment in her tone with disbelief, he couldn't possibly be so forgiving…
He stared at its little e/c eyes and even though they pained him so, knowing that they were not the little things true eyes, he could not find hatred as he stared into them.
Because he could hear you, as if you were beside him with a hand on his arm, as if your gaze was on the little deceiver as well.
Yet so adoringly for the child had come from your shared wife and that was all that concerned you, for you would not care if it was not your sired child. For you would see it as your own, like you would for any of his that came from another, simply because you'd see any bastard child of theirs as innocent deserving your love and protection.
“No matter the outcome, love them as if they are mine own, As thine own, and thou shalt always feel my love beside thee.”
And he did.
His sourching eyes moved to dumbfounded honey ones as a weak smile bit his face and the tears he held back finally fell down his own cheeks, Forgiveness and love so strongly in Adams eyes as he gazed on her lovingly once again looking past her sins and hurt she brought to him.
"Why, prithee, would I be cruel to withhold a name from our very own son?”
And she cried, knowing that Earth was no true punishment for her, it was simply the pain she would bring to You and Adam and having to watch you both accept it and her regardless, and the child was simply a forever reminder of it.
Cain.
That was the Name bestowed on his first son. And learning to be a father and a mother to the small son was an experience Adam and Eve found themselves thrown into, for the little one wailed almost all of the time. Screaming for comfort, for food, for whatever it was that it wailed for almost at all hours of the day and worst in the night.
Both grew envious of the other when one was able to escape the childs never stopping wails to either gather, or hunt, to wash in the stream, or simply needing to get away for a few minutes.
Eve had been away, towards the creek to wash herself in desperation, She was too worried to speak to her husband, too worried if he would finally look upon her in disgust seeing that she was truly impure.
Sharp pains dug into her making her cry out as she washed the never ending blood that seeped from her legs.
The pain was similar to when she had birthed Cain into existence but this time there was no child's head finding its way from her legs. She sat on knees and cried, she did not understand why she was bleeding.
She only felt shame and a need to make sure Adam never found out that she bleeds for no child.
She sobbed as she walked into the creek sitting down in its cold waters letting it soothe her burning body.
she weeped as she glared at the abandoning heavens, wondering why they must punish her so harshly.  A bitterness towards heaven growing thicker, she had joined Adam with his prayers to the benevolent heavens, which they still did not speak to them anymore.
Now she was experiencing a pain of no other in her own womb and it weeped out painful red tears down her legs and into the creek's waters.
The heavens gates turned their backs onto them and she will not forgive them.
Eve let out a bitter snarl at a sharp pain that stabbed into her lower back bringing her discomfort.
She had no need to praise cruel beings of her prayers, and she will not utter them a single one for as long as she suffers from childless bleeding.
She washed herself clean as best as she could, the pains dulling from the soothness that came from the creek. She washed her clothes of the blood letting them dry in the breeze and sun before going back to relax in the chilled cold waters.  She only left it again when her skin was running and pulled on her mostly dried clothing. She was unsure what to do about her new bleeding problem, how she would hide the blood that wanted to run down her legs.
She walked towards the cave that was their home holding her stomach in slight pain as she wondered how she would possibly hide this from Adam.
hide her shame.
Her eyes stung with bitter anger as she rubbed them harshly from tears she did not want to shed as she stomped through the trail back to the cave. Until a soft breeze moved past her and what felt as a gentle hand across her back made her pause as the wind blew softly again and soft feeling fingers turned her head to the side, something white and puffy swayed into the grass catching her attention. Bundles of the puffy flowers swayed in the blowing wind letting her near and crouch down slowly to them. Her hands softly plucking some up feeling how bouncy and soft the white flowers were…
The wind blew again and that feeling of a softly hand grasping her shoulder made her jump as she turned back, facing back towards the creek. She sat there unsure as she spent so much time away knowing that Adam must be going crazy by little Cain's external crying. But the next gentle breeze coaxed her back to the creek where she stared at its cool waters and the bundle of white flowers in her hands.
Then she wondered if they could hold water.
She moved to the creek plunging them in watching how the white flowers swelled thickly and when she lifted them by their wilting stems she watched how they dripped.
The flower heads had tripled in size from the water giving Eve a strong idea.
She could sew leather together like a pouch and stuff the leather with as many fluffy flowers as needed until she stops bleeding.
She stopped as her excitement for the solution of her problem faded.
She would stop bleeding right?
A thought that had worried her as she went back to gather as much of those white fluffy flowers as she could.
Adam sat outside of the cave trying to carve a new blade with Cain snuggled to blankets between his crossed legs. The child kept crying, bringing Adam to quick frustration as the small thing had already been fed, changed to new blankets and was being held safe in his protection and yet that did not seem to please the selfish thing. His temper grew as each small wail chipped away at his patients, he threw the blade he tried working onto his side as he drugged his tired face into his hands letting out a frustrated yell into them of his own.
"Pray, wilt thou ever cease thy incessant prattle?!” He yelled in frustration moving his fingers to glare at the child in his lap only to met with silence, and wide hurt tear stained e/c looking up at him small sniffles leaving the small thing bringing immense guilt to Adams chest, he moved his hands from his face to carefully run fingers across his sons cheeks wiping the tears.
"Forgive me...Forgive me... Thou art fresh and diminutive... 'Tis unjust of me to berate thee for thine innocence and youth…” He whispered to his small son, watching how his little fingers moved to grab at his own and he allowed the small thing too.
Adam stared at his son silently watching him, before letting out a weak little chuckle as the small thing tried eating his finger.
"They would have cherished thee beyond measure…” He whispered, watching how those e/c little eyes moved to look up into his own, making him out softly in agreement to his last statement.
"Aye, thou hast another akin to us, little one... A…” Adam paused as he did not know what you would be to little cain..He did not want to tarnish your image with wrongful words. He did not know of any words that would fit you, for you were both a mother and father to Cain and choosing one or the other seemed wrong to do so, and thus Adam decided he would create a word for you, to honor your image.
“A parent, Your parent Y/n” He softly spoke as little Cain let out a soft coo upwards at him making him smile at his son.
"They may not be present in flesh, but their spirit resides within.” He whispered as he moved his finger from Cain's mouth to poke at the small things chest causing the child to let out a smaller squill, his little hands moving to take back his fathers larger finger. Adam chuckled pausing stiffly as a warm gentle hand touched his shoulder making him turn hisneyes away from his son and into the warm honeyed ones of his wife Eve.
She sat beside him leaning onto his shoulder looking at Cain, her fingers moving through the childs mimicking h/c locs.
"They were always filled with boundless affection for thee, my dear Cain. Their utmost desire was thy happiness, to witness joyous smiles upon thy visage.” His wife spoke of you softly warming his soul as he smiled at her fondly before looking at his son.
They spent the evening talking, telling his son memories they shared of you, until the little one finally fell into a peaceful sleep letting both them fall into one too under the warm sunny day until hours later they woke to the starry night sky and watched it before taking themselves and cain to bed.
Cain's first steps were a tremendous day, As it had been at the beach with His father and mother playing in the sand with him. The small toddler coos and makes noises of delight each time His mother and Father handed him seashells to add to the sand pile he was patting high.
Adam and Eve had sat merely a foot away from him, his mother resting her head on his fathers shoulder, her hands resting on a starting to swell belly.
"Dearest, might I beseech thee for some clams this eve?” Eve softly requested and Adam let out a small noise.
“"Do they not bring upon thee discomfort come the morrow?” He softly questioned her as he took his gaze away from Cain's play to her. Eve scrunched up her face at him, crossing her arms as she stared at him.
“They doth not.” She huffs more in trying to convince herself than him making Adams lips twitch upwards softly before letting another sigh pressing his lips to her forehead before moving up. He swore his wife did not care of her well-being sometimes as he moved to the water kicking the sand with his feet to gather the shelled creatures that she craved for tonight's supper.
That he will later have to pry open for her and cain to happily eat.
“Adam..” Eve soft voice did not register as he focused well on his given task.
“Husband! Adam seek!” Eve shouted louder but as if not to startle one as she watched as Cain wobbly tried to stand up. Her eyes moved from.her child to Adam who had not turned, finding herself frustrated but in a panic to get her husband to see the wonderpus thing their little cain was doing. Her eyes fell to a shell near Cain's foot and she carefully leaned taking it as to not startle the little cain before pulling away.
Her eyes glued to the childs chunky littles wobbles as he bent them, starting to wobble and push upwards to stand. Hsr hands shook, hesitating to grab the small child to help or to pull away to not hinder her son's attempts.
She looked back at Adam before pulling her arm back before thrusting it forward, feeling the shell leave her palm and into the air for a short while before it nailed her husband right in the back. She heard a yelp leave him making her bite her tongue to not dispel into laughter that would startle young Cain and make him fall, who now was fully standing with a slight wobble. Her eyes darted to see Adam turning before he too froze, eyes widening causing her to snap her own gaze back to cain.
The child cooed as he shuffled slightly trying to turn his small body around with the dragging of his feet before he faced Adams' direction. A delighted shrill leaves the small boy as he stumbles forwards making Eve yelp to push on her knees to grab him only for him to land on his foot and wobbly fall again to his other.
Eve rose her hands shaking them as she let out noises of excitement of her own watching Cain take his precious first steps cooing with delight as his wobby arms failed into the air with each small step he took towards his father. Her eyes darted to Adam who had a wide grin on his face as he moved closer to his son getting on his knees holding his arms out to Cain who cooed delightedly to take stumbling steps until he fell forward into his fathers arms.
Over joyment filled Adams face as he bounced to his feet holding Cain in hisnarms pure bright laughter leaving her husband brightly.
“He walks! He walks!” Adam hollered in pride as he spun little cain around in his arms his eyes finding hers as she found to her feet, moving to her to wrap one of his arms around her pressing his lips to her in silent cheer before pulling away cheering with little cains delighted squeals as he lifts his son into the air.
"Hark! My son doth tread upon his own two feet!” He screams to the ignoring  heavens showing them his pride and enjoyment that they ignored.
Unbeknownst that one hidden away weeped silent tears of joy in an endless slumber.

Chapter 8
By the birth of their second son Abel, Adam had made sure he did not leave Eve's side not wanting to leave her and give birth alone like she had for their first son Cain.
He had made changes in the cave with her, no longer did their bed of furrs lay on the ground of the cave floor but he had raised it up by building earth's first bed.
Cain was not able to get in the way because Adam with Eve's input had built the first kids pen to place his young adventurous son into.
Building had become a new discovery that Adam found himself enjoying, one that Eve liked to challenge seeing as the longer she kept Adam busy the better his moods became. He was eager to be of use to their small family and was even more so to provide so when she made a comment about wishing to stop beating the furrs of their bed out before they lay down to get any insects that found way into their cave home, he built it off the ground. When she commented about Cain being too quick for her to stop her wifely tasks to catch him each time, Adam provided an area of the Cain that had small fences made of cut logs and vines keeping their son safe in an area while Eve did her work.
She never commented on how he made the bed big, bigger than two full grown adults.
Now she was grateful for that space as she screamed, able to clutch the beds sides anywhere she needed to as she stood, labor pains ripping through her as she tried birthing their second son.
Cain had come out with ease, so why was her second child so difficult?
Hard labor breaths left her as pain wracked her body. She could feel cold presses of a damp cloth pressed to her temple, Her hair being pulled from sticking to her back and hips. Adam retwisting it and tying it back above her shoulders.
There wasn't much he could do but feeling him wipe her clean of sweat, keeping her hair from being covered in blood that pushed out between her thighs while going to tend to their already wailing toddler, that was all she could ever ask of him, He tended to her and their son making sure both were fed and while he neglected cain of his comfort and time they could forgive him as he focused all of it on her. Helping her up and down the bed, cleaning her skin from sweat and rubbing up and down her back providing her soft praises.Ones she did not know of how highly he saw of her.
"Thou art more splendid than thy maker, for they know not the toil to bestow true life.” He had softly whispered in her ear before placing a kiss on her temple.
She had felt strength fill her as she screamed out another contraction.
It had taken a full day and half a night before she finally was able to rest upon in their bed, small wails cried and she opened her tired eyes to see Adam standing at the end of the bed, a fur blanket wrapped around the small bundle that she did not feel was small minutes ago.
She took in how soft his golden eyes were as he stared down to the bundle with adoration.
His eyes moved to look at her in pride and adoration.
"His eyes bear thine own reflection.” He tells her a gentle smile on his face as he nears her side of the bed carefully placing their second son in her arms, Eve looked at their son's gentle features, his hair dark like Adams, his skin tone a mix of them both but bright honey eyes looked up at her. She cooed at their little one moving her lips to his crying head kissing his little temple.
"He doth embody perfection.” She softly mummed as she held their second son closely. Adam had smiled but it fell when he heard the wails of his first son, he scrambled from the bed heading back to Cain.
Picking up his first son holding him tightly, he whispered soft apologies for his attention not being provided as he carried his son to where his mother and brother rested, sitting beside Eve he held Cain in his lap to see his brother.
"This, thy brother Cain, anon shalt thou findeth a companion for mirth.” He softly told his young son as he looked towards his second born in Eve's arms. Cain let out soft small words as he was just starting to learn them as he reached his small hands out towards his brother too quickly.
Eve had jerked her arms away from Cain holding their second son closely to her chest.
"He shall inflict harm upon him.” She had protested and Adam frowned, shaking his head as he moved Cain to settle on his lap before moving an arm to take his second son from her, bringing him carefully to his chest.
“He shall not. He's only eager.” He said sternly as he let Cain look at his younger brother, his other hand stopping his first born from snatching ahold of his second born with gentle scolding, taking Cains hand with his own and carefully placing it on his second son.
"gentle son, he is but small as thou once wert, thou must handle him tenderly.” Adam softly whispered, allowing his sons to meet each other under his supervision.
Eve had watched, watched her boys together with a smile before she allowed sleep to fill her, exhausted from the long hours of labor.
Her eyes opened to a familiar place, one she hadn't been in for so long. Sweet smells of flora hitting her nose as the bright perfect sun landed on fields of flowers.
The meadows she adored.
Soft squeals of children echoing in the field and she felt a hand squeeze her own making her turn to see you. You were staring out to the fields where she followed your gaze to see Adam playing with her sons. Cain chased his legs in the flowers with their little son tied to his back in leather swaddling softly cooing and letting kut shrills of his own.
"Fair wife, they are exquisite to behold.” Your voice softly hit her ears making her heart swell as she looked at you squeezing your hand.
"I do yearn for thy presence amongst us.” Eve spoke, watching how your face frowned and turned to look at her squeezing her hand so tightly. Grasping as if she would disappear, as the world around the both of you started to go quiet.
"In thy presence I stand, by thy side... behold?” Your words spoke quickly, almost pleading.
a sense of panic filled her and she quickly spoke
“Of course!” The drumming sounds of Cains and Adams laughter and the gentle wind with the tall grass of wildflowers grew once more. You haven't smiled at her simply squeezing her hand as you turn to watch them, she did not miss how your eyes looked dewy.
She thought of her words carefully.
"Art thou secure? As the fields doth oft wither come season's end.” She speaks while watching her children and shared husband play.
A soft squeeze on her hand, the feeling of trembling fingers.
"I am no flower, but a bear in slumber 'near the first snow. Yet vigilant as a rabbit, shedding its coat, and in some way, my mind doth soar through thine like an owl in the night.” You softly whispered turning to her showing tears leaving the wondrous eyes Cain's mimicked.
Eve went to say something to comfort you, her hands finding a way to your face to wipe away tears but your hands cupped her own.
"I am burdened with the task of never unveiling my eyes, my mind tethered to two yet distant as the mist. And when one of these two minds doth find its way back to me, it must deem it as the capricious winds. And when they depart from me once more, 'tis as if the moments together were of fleeting snow.”
your tears warm under her fingertips as she stared at you, your warm hands squeezing her own.
She wished she could say more,
but all she could do was stare into your E/c eyes as everything faded away.
As did her memory of the spoken words between you two.
The boys grew up quickly, Eve could not believe how fast the years went by. She remembers Cain's first steps so clearly then his first words, Abels first little walks with shrills of delight as he learned to chase his older brother.
She smiled as grabbed a clay pot down from a ledge Adam built in their cave, bringing it down to a table. She moved her hand inside pulling out strips of dried dehydrated meat from a sandy powdery substance.
Salt. Adam had so cleverly named it.
She moved a blade through it cutting through the toughen meat into shorter chunks before placing them into a clean clay bowl, reaching up to the ledge she grabbed another clay pot she brought down pouring water into the meat chunks, she then gathered smaller clay pots to drop in plants and herbs she had collected, allowing the mixture to sit she washed her hands and moved out of the cave that was her and her families home.
The bright sun greeted her and so did the laughter of her boys as she focused her honey eyes to the side of the clearance of the cave house. Cain and Abel ran around chasing each other, both their hands digging into woven bags she had made to throw handfuls of seeds at each other, squealing as the seeds would hit them.
Her husband not far from them, his spear long changed into a hoe, rising above his head to be plunged into the ground, ripping away weeds and roots out of the soil he churned. Sweat moving down from her husband's temple and neck, his robes lower to his hips leaving his skin exposed to the sun to burn and darken as he created row after row of piled fresh exposed soil and tumbled seeds thrown around by their sons.
She neared his starting cropping area watching how he turned his head to her, a smile forming on his face as he leaned into his new tool, the sweat coating him shining.
“My sun.” He greeted her with a pull of his lips growing. “Come to bless me?” a light tease coming from him causing her to smile, his eyes moving from her to their sons a sigh leaving him knowing he would have to go find more seeds from the meadows making her giggle.
"I have arrived to witness what new endeavor thou art embarking upon, my dear husband.” She tells him as she turns to watch their sons play in their glee.
"To summon the Gathering to our humble abode, wherein thou mayst cultivate thy desires, my dearest... That is, if any seeds doth take root and flourish.” Adam explained as he watched their sons, shaking his head as he watched Abel chunk a handful of seeds at Cain's face making his first born sputter before lurching at Abel tackling his younger brother into the soil where both boys laughed at each other and tumbled each other through the soil not at all caring if they ruined their fathers straight rows.
"Aye, cease thy antics, ye mischievous scoundrels! The garden does not serve as thy playground. Take thy frolics to the creek or the meadows, anywhere but amongst the sacred blooms!” Adam scolded their sons, his words being met with their childish laughter being utterly ignored making his brows furrow before he looked at eve.
“Verily, 'tis as if their birth hath forsaken them the gift of hearing.” Her husband huffs, making Eve's shoulders shake as she covers her lips with her hand, not so silent giggles leaving her as she moves her other hand to his arm.
"Observe and glean wisdom, my dearest husband.” She softly tells him before she moves her hands on her hips letting a noise leave her lips that caused both boys to freeze at their mothers scolding noise.
"Begone, depart, leave thy father's labor untouched, for thou shalt return ere the sun fades to night.” She scolded them moving a hand to shoo the boys away, and to Adams squinting eyes at how fast both boys scrambled up seeming intentional kicking more of his straight tilled lines apart as they took off giggling down the trails to the creek where they would play in for hours until dinner was served by their mothers hand.
His wife had only laughed at his temporary misfortune before kissing the bittersweetness away and headed back to the cave, with a glance back eyes slanted in a tease as she vanished behind the door into the cave.
Making him freeze side eyeing his new made tool before back to the door of the cave before he headed to the cave leaving the Hoe laid against a tree trunk.
A hard working man deserved a break, after all.
By the time the boys were young teens, their home was transfixed and they were given work by their father to help around the house.
Cain was entrusted with a portion of his fathers fields, which had grown far larger than the gardens when he and Abel were in boyhood.
Cain had enjoyed the work, he liked tending to the plants and keeping pests away from the crop that would feed his family. He believed he had the most important task, tending to the crops with his Father and helping his Mother harvest only the best and ripe to be served on their clay dinner plates.
What was work in the sun surrounded by the freshest air compared to working at cleaning animal dung like his younger brother?
Cain grinned with pride as he filled two baskets of only the best fruits and vegetables. One to bring to their home for his mother to use for supper and the morrows break fast. The other he would take to the place his father would provide sacrifices to the heavens in good faith and hopes that their family would continue to be good.
He headed to the sacrificial stone, first setting the basket on it. He got to his knees holding his hands together to pray the words his father had taught him, but the words did not come from his lips.
His Mother Eve had told him that the heavens do not always listen.
And he sometimes wondered if that was true because he never felt like his Fathers words that he was taught to say ever felt true. They did not fill him like it seems to with his Father and Brother. Cain opened his eyes to the basket on the stone before at the bright sunny and cloudy skies.
The young teen thought for a moment before tipping his head back down in respect, his eyes closing.
He would not praise the heavens in his prayer.
Instead he would pray for a new meaning, a request that he hoped for his hard working Father and gentle ever loving mother would come true.
Perhaps it was selfish to request heavens instead of praising it like his Father Adam had always done.
"Oh, merciful heavens, I offer not this humble basket in mere praise of thy blessings. Today, I beseech thee to return unto my father and mother, my missing parent. If thy love, as my father still fervently believes, be as boundless as the sea, then I implore thee, release my parents Y/n back into their loving embrace... May our family be whole once more.” The words fell from his lips and once they finished leaving him he opened his eyes looking up at the fluffy clouded sky in hope before crossing his hands against his chest and head like Adam had shown him and Abel in their boyhood before he pushed himself up from his knees bowing his head once more before turning carrying the second basket back home eager to give his mother the basket.
Surely the heavens would be touched by his humble request for his parents to be reunited that it couldn't be ignored.
Abel groaned as he dug his shovel into piles of sheep dung, moving it to an area where he would later cover with the sheeps leftover uneaten straw, where it would all break down for Cain to use on his crops.
Abel had been tasked with aid in tending to his Fathers flock, mostly in feeding them, and cleaning up after them and carrying their waste to the pit where it will break down into a rich soil folder to be used on Cains and Fathers fields.
He huffed as he dragged a basket of freshly cut meadow grass his father had harvested in the early morning and spread it around the pin that held the flock. His work was filthy work and it always sent him to the creek to deeply clean himself and scrub away at the robes he wore now coated in straw bits and what he liked to think was mud and not the other brown substances he moved back and forth with the shovel crafted by his fathers hand.
"Thou dost appear most unsightly.” a teasing tone called from the pin making Abel snap his head to meet the e/c eyes of his older brother with his own honey ones. A huff left him too quickly as he stared at Cain.
"Thou art most gracious in thy compliments, elder sibling.” Abel answered back, his eyes rolling as he shoved the shovel back into the piles grunting as he lifted and carried it to the pit just outside the fence to drop the load into.
He heard the creaking of the wooden pen first making him turn his head watching with honey eyes as his eldest brother climbed into the pen moving towards him rolling his sleeves up his arms as he held a hand out for the shovel.
"Relinquish it swiftly, for thou tarriest overlong, and I have no desire to sup late due to thy tardiness.” Cain spoke with a tease in his tone but also with a firmness that made Abel most eager to hand the shovel to his older brother who took it and began to carry out his given task.
Abel let out a sigh as he leaned against the fence watching his older brother work.
"Pray, why dost thou always conclude with such haste?”Abel asks his brother, making Cain chuckle as he carries a loaded shovel to the pit.
"I doth awaken with father were the dawn's first light, unlike thee, who rouses with mother mere hours before noon's zenith.” his older brother tells him before tilting the shovel letting the flocks dung fall into the pit and he turns to look at him.
"Hadst thou risen earlier, brother, thou wouldst find thy tasks completed ere the sun's descent, thy ablutions done ere the sky's first blush, and thy supplications to the heavens concluded ere mother's call to supper.” Cain tells him, before moving back to shovel more of the flock's waste.
Abel had fallen silent before he moved forwards to take his shovel from his older brother, a determined look on his face.
"I shall strive to prove my worthiness, to demonstrate that I am indeed capable.” Abel said strongly, earning his brother chuckles and hand ruffling his hair.
"Thou art already capable, dear sibling, merely lacking in swiftness.” Cain teased instead before taking his leave to go to the creek to wash himself and the harvest clean before returning to the cave where he helped his mother with the cooking.
Abel had approached the offering area covered in mess but he looked at the heavens painted skies with gentle loving eyes as he got down his eyes, holding his hands over the stone and tipping his head.
"I may not have earned the honor of presenting thee a lamb, as father does, yet I humbly offer my praises and gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon my family. May thy divine light illuminate the morrow's sun.” Able softly whispers to the great heavens before looking up at the gorgeous painted skies of the sun set and moves his hands across his chest and head before rising from his knees and head to the creek to wash himself before heading home in time for supper before his mother calls.
Time moved fast and the young boys had gone from boys to young teens and from young teens to merely the starts of men.
Both brothers worked hard on their given jobs, providing for their family in different ways, and while Cain did aid in providing the family with the bests harvests, his work began to be overshadowed by his youngers brothers brilliance of tending to the Flocks and having them produce many lambs in the fresh spring, which meat was able to butchered and salted stored away for the upcoming winters. The fresh sweet milk from the sheep collected and turned into a new delicious treat that was thicken cream on their tongues.
His younger brothers praise clearly being more thickly than the praise he got on his own.
Cain tried to feel pride for his younger brother Abel, but what could he create that was new with simple plants when his brother could do so much with the flock?
And while his own work did not go unnoticed by his Father Adam, as his father would always place a hand on his shoulder or ruffle his hair speaking highly of him, and how his Mother Eve always seemed delighted in using his harvests for their nightly and daily meals.
It was the heavens that made him feel so inadequate, unworthy. For his request to have all his parents to be in each other's arms did not seem like it would ever be granted. He had been begging the heavens for such an event for so long.
Why was it so unattainable to have all of his parents?
Cain wanted to meet the parent his mother and father said that would and had been loving him for so long. He did not understand why they all could not be a family.
It also strung a ravenous sting when he had sat in the meadows one day with his younger son talking of their prayers and hearing of what his younger brother had prayed for and had it granted.
"The heavens have ever bestowed their blessings upon me and heeded my prayers.” Abel told his brother as he rose to his feet to gather at some of the tall grass wispy grains playing with them, it made Cain feel a bitterness in his chest.
"It appears the heavens turn a deaf ear to my entreaties.” Cain let out a huff, Perhaps his mother was true in her words.
Heaven ignores them, it's merely luck when one's prayer is answered.
Yet it still stung him so deeply.
"Perchance they find favor in me more than in thee, simple though it may be.” His brother's teasing words hit his ears hard.
And Cain felt something scorching burn through him as his eyes darted to the back of his youngest brother's head harshly. Moving to his feet the feeling grew heavily, as he hissed a noise he had never made before causing his brother's head to turn to look at him with wide honeyed eyes.
Blacken claws gripping his younger brother's robes as he yanked him towards the slitted yellow eyes that burned out from his head as he snarled at his younger brother.
"Who thou art to presume to speak on behalf of the heavens?!” Cain hissed at his brother, two fanged teeth enlarged from his jaw as they bared at his brother in that scorching feeling of his chest.
“Cain- '' Abel sputtered his tone wavering as a fear blossomed in his eyes as he took in his brother's sudden appearance, his chest shook with the urge to flee and he struggled in his brother's grasp to get away from the thing that had taken his brother's voice.
"Why do thy foolish desires find favor in their sight, whilst mine pleas for our family's wholeness are disregarded and callously cast aside?” Cain yelled at his brother, his hands shaking in his brother's robes before he shoved him backwards watching Abel fall to the ground, a small cry leaving his brother as Cain snarled glaring to the sky.
Abel fell his body colliding to the meadows ground harshly his back eating the dirt and his head coming down upon rocks hidden by the tall grass, his vision blurred from the awful thing that had took his brothers place from.the blurring of the sky before it spiked with n arrangement of colors as his head bounced from the rocks to land back down on a sharp edge.
A sickening cracking echoed.
Cain found himself freezing as he heard a shuttering gasp leave Abels lips before his slitted eyes moved from the heavens to the ground where his brother had landed, Ables neck snapped at an angle and golden blood seeped from his head, Abels honey eyes still wide open as his body shook.
Cain let a breathless strangled noise from his throat as he rushed to his brother's side grabbing at Abel a surge of panic coming from him.
"Brother, Brother, forgive me! I shall mend this rift... I shall bring healing unto thee.” Cain sputtered as he pressed a hand to his bleeding head. Watching how Abels eyes were unmoving, Cain moved his brother's neck back from a strange angle; another sickening cracking noise that made his stomach sink came from doing such action.
Cain ripped at his own robes tying the long strips around his brother's head before pulling away with trembling hands.
"There, there, all is restored, brother…” Cain spoke to the limp body of his brother, his body shaking with each second Abels unblinking eyes stared through him, to the sky above, the gloss in them fading.
“Brother, thou art healed now... Abel... Abel, speak to me!”
Cain shook his brother, his eyes burning with tears as he did not understand why Abel was unmoving. They both had been hurt before and had healed quickly. Surely his brother was playing a nasty trick on him and Cain shook at him.
"You win, thou cursed trickster of thine! I yield, but prithee, speak to me!” Cain begged a wail leaving him as the tears began to fall as his brother did not move an inch. Worry Settler in his stomach as well as something else he did not know off, Cain had risen to his feet and ran through the tall wisps of grass into the overgrowth of trees until rocks ate at his feet and larger ones slicked with green that nearly made him fall.
The soft serine trickle so rushing water hitting his ears as his cupped hands dipped harshly into cool waters scaring away the aquatic life there before his rose them, droplets dripping as he ran back through the rocky trails until soft grassed and dirt kicked from his pace, until tall wispy grasses slapped against the hips of his robes as he found his brother still unmoving. Cain wheezed and heaved as he moved his trembling cupped hands to give the little water that managed to stay in them to his brother's lips, filling his mouth full of the cold refreshing water of the small stream.
Cain could only watch helplessly as his brother's lips were filled to the top with water and it dribbled out from the corners of Abels mouth and a choking sob left Cain as he threw himself onto his brother's chest clinging to the fabrics of his younger brother's robes sobbing.
“ABEL!” his screaming voice echoed through the silent meadows.
When the sun had begun to reach its setting peak and A few yells from Eve outside the cave, It was only a worried look his wife gave him before Adam was on his feet, grabbing a spear and heading out to find his sons.
"Bringeth them back to me safely.” Eve had called to him softly by the door as he exited, Adam did not reply but he did spare his wife a gentle gaze before he left.
He did not tell her that he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.
He started on the field's, and the pens, seeing if his sons had merely gotten busy in helping each other with their workload, but he found them empty as he headed towards the creek.
Perhaps he would find them wrestling each other in the cool waters, he had hoped so, but when he came upon the cool peaceful scene of an untouched creek the pit of dread started to consume him more as he rushed towards the meadows that lead to the beaches.
He called for his sons by name, waiting to hear them call back or their laughter.
He only heard his eldest screams of panic from his brother's name.
Worry and relief filled him as he rushed through the tall wispy grass not caring if they hit and stained his robing as he neared his eldest screaming.
“CAIN! ABEL!” he called out for them both, hearing a silent form before his eldest screamed a retching while calling him.
“FATHER! "FATHER! FATHER, COME NEAR! FAST!” Cain had wailed, hope filled him immediately when he heard his father, Adam's voice. His dad could fix anything, he's seen him fix and build so much in his whole lifetime. Cain just knew that his father could fix Abel and that they could all go home and eat the supper his mother made them and tomorrow will be a new dawn. He had expected to be comforted by his father, then to be teasingly ridiculed for playing too rough and he fixed his little brother as if none had ever happened.
He had only felt the harsh shove from his fathers hands and watched as his father grabbed Abel's head watching how it rolled back to the harsh angle with a much more dull sickening sound. His fathers chest moved quickly as he moved his hand from Abels locs to be coated in gold.
"What hast thou wrought?!” His fathers voice had trembled with fear, rage, and agony.
"I... He... He mocked me, and I nudged him; 'twas not with much force! He fell to the earth and hath not stirred since... Yet, thou canst mend him, father... Thou canst mend him... Canst thou not?” Cain explained himself, tried justifying his actions, his voice had been stronger but it began to waver and leave him as he saw the haunting face of his father who stared at his unmoving little brother.
"Mend him...?... How can I mend one who is DECEASED! He's DEAD, Cain!” Adam screamed, pulling his dead boy's face to his chest, his hand gathering into his dead second born's hair, the other gathering the robes on his back that his mother mended him. His scorching eyes raging as he stared at his first born with scorn and pain.
Watching how yellow and red eyes watered, no longer playing into the lies of mimicking a false sire. No longer the wondrous E/c that you and only you possessed.
No because one that committed such a thing could never have your eyes.
Nor could bare any reflecting light of your image.
So here he kneeled holding the dead corpse of his second born, whose body had grown cold and starting to stiffen in his arms, whose golden blood seeped into his robes staring into the eyes of his wifes bastard who killed his real first born.
Listening to how the snake bastard cried and pleaded for forgiveness, to Him, to the heavens even to his dead Abel's body to come back.
But Adam did not blame Cain.
For Cain was simply a byproduct of his true sires darkness.
No, Adam blamed himself for ever believing a deceiver, a sinner, could be trusted with the safety of his family.
His eyes unmoving from him, kneeled down weeping, his once child, the spear across his back heavy as he laid Abels body down and grabbed it standing to his feet.
Cain reached for his fathers feet, his anguished wails increasing as a small terror formed from the silence his father permitted, his head not moving from facing the ground where his tears fell nourishing the greedy weeds that had already spoken in the gold from his brother's veins.
Adam felt the spear heavy in his hold, his hand trembling as he stared down at the one he raised.
And when the deceiver he raised looked back at him with his yellow and red eyes swirling into the false dull, no longer as bright and vibrant e/c. A choke swelled in his throat as he lowered the spear with shaking hands.
Because how could he strike his boy?
The little boy he held and cried for the day of his birth?
The little lad who squealed in delight and took his first steps to follow him.
Him?
Like a true father?
How could he bring pain to his son?
But what of his other boy?
The one he failed to protect because he took a sinner under his arms.
Killed by the one Adam had told him was his brother.
Murdered by one Adam said he could trust and love as kin, regardless if it was an accident or not.
How could he trust a deceivers words when his first act from birth was to trick one's mind?
How could he ignore such an atrocious act?
When the cold body of his only blooded son slowly rots behind his feet?
“Father-” Cain's words were cut short as Adam brought down the spear, strong as his own will, but true to his heart as it plunged into the ground beside Cain's frame.
"Thou shalt depart. Take this spear for thy protection and one of the laden baskets at the altar, then depart.” Adam words shaken with his emotions but he steeled his eyes to not give such as he glared down at Cain. Ignoring how the tears stained his once son's face or how his eyes trembled with emotions.
"Thou shalt depart, and returneth not. Go far, yea, farther still, for thou canst not flee far enough. Thou art no more my son, and should I chance upon thee again, thou shalt not be the lad I raised, but the demon that slew my sons.” Adam growled slowly watching how the other flinched backwards and stumbled.
But Adam did not give the sinner any more attention than that, he turned on his heels to gather his dead boy in his arms and carry him past the one who cried meaningless words of forgiveness.
Words could not bring back his son.
Words that could not bring back both his sons nor the illusion he allowed to trick him.
Adam left the meadow, tears falling down his cheek.
For he had lost two sons this day.

Chapter 6:
The judgment came too quickly for the humans, Yet it had been a long ordeal for the truly blessed ones.
an argument back and forth between them as their following assistants watched and only could help aid them with visuals of what had happened, to aid in the debate on what the punishment for the humans were to be as well for the traitors of heaven.
It had taken them a great while to come up with the decision, but once had been made following after the most holy ones lead of what the true father may have wanted.
It had been Michael's judgment to cast out the deceiver and fallen Lucifer out of the realms of heaven and the gardens, banishing him even from the realm of earth to somewhere far below into the unknown where Lucifer light would not shine. The traitor of heaven's wife had joined him, where to stay in that eternal darkness, Where neither will see the light again. He also had no mercy for the other created humans as he believed they too should be banished to such a place as heaven would not allow the damned to taint its unity as well the sacred Gardens of their mother who had become one with the galaxies that extended through the great beyonds above.
It had been Uriel's wisdom that influenced the other holy one's judgment to send the humans who had been tricked into sin to the new realm they had been creating. Earth.
It was her wise proposition to send the humans who had partaken in the fruit of the forbidden tree to be banished from heaven's grace and the safety of the Gardens to earth. Where they would face many trials and temptations in their remaining days and shall they resist them, they may prove that they were always loyal to heaven and at the end of their days they may be allowed to come back to their original blessed home.
As all the holy siblings bickered back and forth it was Raphael who brought up another issue that would have arrived, what to do with you.
"By our command, they were wrought into existence, fashioned to accompany Adam and Eve. As the young seraphims assembly, still pure as holy light, shall we punish them for the deeds of their partners? Do we comprehend the consequence should they be sundered from their counterparts?”
As he did not see reason for you to suffer for actions you did not commit, and what would your divine purpose be once the damned were removed from the gardens. Could a soul like yours even survive without your original purpose? His words only spurred a longer debate as others could only make assumptions, until all faces were turned to one in their union.
Azrael had leaned forward from their balcony in the court staring at the other faces of their siblings as they inhaled before exhaling wispful smoke from their lips.
"Verily, they would languish in torment, for 'tis the love betwixt Eve and Adam that binds them so. Their presence, their unyielding devotion to each other, sustains their corporeal form and tethers their souls. Yet, to cast a pure soul into a realm tainted by sin and darkness would cruelly rend its radiance asunder.” They spoke to the court smoke leaving their lips in small huffs as they placed their hands on balcony counter interlocking them as their silver white eyes glowed from the shadows of their veiled face
“Let us recall our pact: Eve, condemned for eternity for her transgression in partaking of the forbidden fruit, yet carrying within her womb a sorrowful child of heaven. And Adam, still bearing the promise of redemption to tread once more within heaven's gates.” They continued watching the faces of their siblings and even their appointed underlings, their eyes falling to one who scribed away at the meeting's contents to be stored in high security to be records of their final divine judgment. Azrael knew that their siblings, while always respectful, were wary of what they brought forth, what their divine purpose was in their fathers great work.
They brought death.
though death did not need to be cruel.
And Azreal had no ill will towards you, a being that they see to be a victim in all.
“Therefore, we must ponder: Do we dispatch Y/n to endure a protracted agony upon the earth, to wither before their beloved in anguished disarray, risking the erosion of Adam's devotion and steadfast faith? Or do we, in mercy, claim their life ourselves, sparing them the anguish of dissolution after banishing their spouses from the gardens?”
There was silence, besides the scribblings of ancient symbols on holy parchment before that too ceased in sound.
"We abstain from taking life, thus any course must tread delicately, so as not to affront the efforts of the Almighty. Having heard your deliberations, I propose a novel solution." The soft but yet firm voice of their sister metatron Spoke up her voice an echo of many as she commanded her siblings attention, her hand moving the feathered quill against the parchment she so Devotedly scribbled her words down as well of their reactions, her eyes prying key to detail.
“Let us conceal Eden from all eyes, ensconcing it in a realm of tranquil repose where Y/n's soul may find solace, shielded from the anguish of separation from their beloved.” Her words echoed through the courtroom, up the grand pillars that held it high. Her quill hand never ceasing as she took in the court guests' reactions to her words.
“There, let them slumber undisturbed, their souls unscathed by the torment of earthly parting. Permit their consciousness to wander, beholding the memories of their spouses through their eyes, so that their soul may never languish in solitude. Thus, poised betwixt life and death, their essence shall endure, harmoniously entwined, neither fading into oblivion nor sundered from existence.”
Her proposal backed by Uriel and Raphael nearly immediately and after details of how to make such a thing happen Azreal had brought forth a method to keep your soul in a soundless slumber between life and death.
A coma.
The angel of death had named it.
The holy siblings devine decisions of judgment had been made.
And young angels were sent to announce said judgment
The morning light had just started to rise when the air of the clearance of the forbidden tree was suffocated in its sudden combustion.
The noise of splintering wood and the feel of a heat of a million sourcing suns caused your eyes to fly open along with your wife and husbands.
Adam had reacted first, flying up and covering Eve's body underneath him as his golden eyes took in the blaze that consumed the forbidden trees.
The sound of batting wings came soon after
As Adam was pushed away from your and Eves bodies allowing you and your wife to scramble up to take sights of the flame engulfed tree as well the holy bright light swarming around figures concealing their faces from your eyes.
It was only the familiarity of them being the ones that created you was all you had to know what they were.
"You have defied the will of the Almighty and brought sin into this sacred place.” A voice of femininity spoke down to the three created humans, The other Angels following their lead stayed in the air above, witnesses to account the banishment and peaceful slumber was smooth and seamlessly.
The young Seraphim stared at the humans who one looked up with wide wondrously pure e/c eyes, the other two of corrupted gold.
She had taken hand at physically creating all three humans below, but she avoided looking at the one she had solely worked on alone, perhaps making his eyes.Reminding herself that he was not a child of hers, she had only made him, and he had failed heaven.
“"Disobedience hath marred the purity of this paradise. Henceforth, Eve, thou art banished from the Garden of Eden, forever estranged from its splendor and plenty, deemed a threat to the heavens, never to tread its sacred ground anew. Adam, likewise, art banished from these Gardens. May thy soul seek solace or be condemned alongside thy wife. Let the consequences of thy deeds serve as a solemn reminder of the dire ramifications of defying the Creator's decrees.”
Young Sera announced The holy one Divine Judgment that was written down and delivered to her by the Gabriel one of the younger of the holy ones for her to be bestowed the responsibility of announcing the Judgment and punishment towards the humans and to watch over to ensure the Banishment went without much resistance and that your peaceful rest would not be delayed a second after Adam and Eve's souls were casted out of the gardens.
It went as she expected it would go. and she turned her head away from the sight of the other angels forcing Adam and Eve away from you, angels holding you from running towards your spouses.
"RELEASE THY HOLD! PERMIT ME TO DEPART! ALLOW ME TO ACCOMPANY THEM! I BEG THEE, LET ME ABIDE WITH THEM! ADAM! EVE! I BESEECH THEE!” Your shrieks cut through the gardensas the other humans' screams did.
Adam fought back against the angel's much like how Sera would have thought he would, it was his purpose afterall to protect those he was married to, such a strong instinctive drive she made him have.
"Unhand them! Unhand my spouse! Grant us our beloved spouse!” Adam shouted, demanding what would have been his entire right if the holy ones had not come up with their decisions.
Sera had turned her head to sounds of your and Eves screams watching as the other angels finally managed to throw Adam off a cliff falling into a portal that would have him descend into the new realm Earth.
Your screams of pure terror left you as you tried struggling out of the other angels arms.
“ADAM!” your shrieks came with a heart shattering tone, You screamed and bucked in the angels hold as you watched them shove your wife down from the clift another shriek leaving your lips and it was as if Sera was seeing you began to unravel immediately.
“EVE!” Your high pitched scream echoed and you collapsed onto your knees a sob breaking from you quickly as your body began to tremble the hastily smoothed over seams of your flesh started to appear and began to split open making you scream more in agony as you clutched your chest screaming for Adam and Eve, your wife and your husband.
Blood seeped from you as you began to fall apart much like how it was predicted.
The angels moved quickly unveiling a blue powdery substance made by holy Azreal and blew it into your face. You choked on it, tears falling from your face before your eyes rolled back into your head, a deathless sleep coming over you. Sera let out a breath she did not know she held as she moved to you, watching the angels clean your body from the blood and smooth your skin back over your flesh to hood you together again.
They washed you clean before levitating your sleeping form up to take back to the small cave you humans had shared.
Sera had taken pity on you, gathering the fur you had covered yourself with and dusting it off before spreading it out over you like a blanket, she felt something hard in a pocket and pulled the object out seeing a seed.
Perhaps it was the empathy she had for your fate because she did not destroy the seed like they had been ordered to destroy the forbidden tree, instead she had placed it in one of your slumbering hands allowing you to hold it onto your chest.
She had stayed by your side as they moved you to your once shared home, shared caverned and laid you down in the furred bedding that still smelled of your husband and wife.
Once you were placed they all left the gardens of eden, Not one of them turning back as the Gardens vanished, the holy ones blessing to make it where no man, nor angel shall ever find it and disturb your rest taking effect immediately.
She had ignored the tears that streamed down your cheeks from closed eyes.
The first experience humans ever had on earth was a treacherous one. It had been cold, wet and surrounded by an angry storm that they were unequipped and unknowledgeable to be thrown in such conditions so quickly. Frigid cold rain pelted against their delicate skin harshly causing a sting as bitter icy winds burned past them. Adam and Eve had fallen into an area that was experiencing one of earth's firsts and many more to come hurricanes.
The wind was harsh, knocking them over causing them to fall into the mucky nature floors covering them in mud and other unknown substances. Lightning struck down harshly flashing the dark night around with a horrifying display of shadows of the unknown enough to throw them both into heuristics. Eve had kept screaming, she clung onto him tightly and Adam clung back to her Desperately as he tried to guide his wife to any form of safety.
The storm wasn't just the worst part of the night,
It was the feeling of being surrounded by Eyes.
So many eyes focused on them both, watching, judging, fueling their paranoia.
He had never felt so seen in a way that made him want to curl up and hide. A deep shame filled into his lower stomach and a nonstop dreaded feeling filled his chest on top of push aside mourning as he stumbled through the unknown lands with Eve right behind them.
He didn't even feel relief when he managed to find them both a measly shelter, a whittled down old tree with a hollow center. He had guided Eve inside of it first, letting her get into the deepest spot of the tree that managed to stay somewhat between damp and dry but kept her out of the cold unforgiving rains. He had taken the position nearest the opening having his back exposed and continued to be rained on and hit with cold bitter winds. He could only look down at his wife's face who hid into his chest, her arms clinging to his chest as she sobbed, something he wanted to do but wouldn't allow himself to.
He needed to be the strength between them, someone needed to be strong.
He couldn't allow himself to be weak, not in this unknowing yet cruel place.
when they were safe, truly safe, then he would cry.
So he squeezed his burning eyes shut and focused on his breathing, trying to ignore the harshness of the storm pelting on his back, or how his body trembled from the cold, focusing more on how Eve's body trembled against his not just from her sobs Either.
He moved his arms trying to cover her, stroking her back and arms to build heat from.his own freezing body to warm her own.
Every crackling of lightning and thunder making them both jump, small screams leaving his wife's lips as she clung to him more, he only would tighten his grasp around her tightly, each time he felt how his heart seemed to get stuck in his scratchy throat pounding, hoe his chest would heave as the palpitations of his heart grew so did his need to breathe more quickly.
He was thankful the angels had spared you from this cruelty.
Eve clung onto Adam, burying her face into his chest as she cried, he was the only thing of familiarity and comfort she had here. She did not understand how the Angels could be so cruel. As the treacherous night continued they both could hear sounds of animals stalking through the storm, she felt how stiff Her husband grew as wretched calls neared their tree. He had turned from her, his back facing her as he peered out of the hollowed tree, his eyes watching through dense thick rain and dark shadows that would be flashed with bright light by those awful crackling noises. Eve would have never seen Adam so tense, his chest heaving so quickly, between the lightning flashed she saw how his hands gripped at the hollow tree entrance, how his knuckles drained of all color of his tanned skin. Another thought had crossed her mind and her chest was frantic with pain and worry.
You had always helped Adam take part in protecting the three of them, and that the gardens never had true danger except those who loved to deceive.
Adam had known every potentially dangerous animal in the gardens and even then they understood why he needed to hunt them, they never sought out to hunt them back.
But here,
It seemed the animals siblings did indeed want to hunt them back.
Another hellish sound other than the storm echoed and about hundreds more followed after making Adam take in a sharp inhale.
"Coyotes... They search for us…” Her husband wheezed out in realization. He took steps back pushing her deeper into the hollow until her bare back dug into the harshness of the hollow bark and despite this her husband was still more exposed than she.
She shivered against his freezing backside, tears burning her eyes as they fell, she wanted to seek out for more comfort but she knew she would not receive anymore from Adam that night. Her heart burned and ached as she longed to be buried into your arms, hearing your saccharine words of sweet comfort, that your shared husband would keep her safe and that you would as well.
she could no longer have such comfort from you and she blamed the angel's for that.
When morning light came, it should have brought peace, but it didn't, as both of them felt the true need of thirst and the pains of hunger. Their throats ached for clean water, their stomachs felt as if they were tearing through their other organs to satisfy its needs. Their skin felt extremely itchy from the dried muck and mud that were on their skin. Both felt true exhaustion start to take place, heaviness in their eyes from the first night of no sleep. Their bodies were already aching as they left the whittled old tree hollow into the seeming bright day.
The earth's lands had transformed into one of horrors to one of beauty in the sunlight which had been a slap to both humans sleep deprived faces.
Both had not spoken a word to each other, Eve merely following After Adam as he lead through the unknown land, it had not taken him.long to find animal trails that lead them to a river, the sight of clean rushing waters relieved them both as they moved towards it cupping their hands into the water and bringing it to their lips over and over gulping the water greedily. Both had taken the liberties to wash their bodies with the rushing waters clearing the muck from their blemishing skin.
Eve had turned watching Adam as he washed his hair, how dark circles rung around his tired eyes, she had never seen him so worn down, not knowing that this would be a common sight of her husband for her to lay her gaze upon.
Even with having time to allow relaxation to hit them, she watched as he did not allow it to come, he immediately worked on crafting a spear and a blade, to her surprise when he handed her a carved blade of her own. She had taken it and looked up at him with wide honey eyes for the only time she ever needed a blade was when preparing a meal shared between three.
He did not comment on it.
Merely handing her the blade and moved on,The first day Adam did not speak to her much, other than simple commands
“Come, wife.” when he moved forwards into the unknown land
"Stay thou here.” when he was unsure if a certain area was safe for them both to travel together.
She did not dare complain, even when her stomach was gnawing through her, because She knew well that he was too and yet he focused on finding them somewhere safe to stay.
A place he did eventually find hours after the first strokes of morning light as the sun hit noons peak. The cave he found brought familiar comfort as Eve moved inside of it with him, her eyes taking in the bare cave that's flooring was covered in small gravely stones and dead plant matter. She moved to start cleaning away at the cave's floor, quietly as she heard Adams command of her staying here and he turned and left.
To hopefully provide them a meal
She silently prayed as she focused on her task at hand.
He had not.
Instead of rushing to find food Adam had prioritized another concern, as Eve was greeted with him dragging logs back to the cave, as well vines wrapped around from his beholder to hip.
She watched as he began to stack the logs over the caves entrance before moving vines through them, weaving had never been her husbands strongest and she moved from the caves flooring to help him weave them through, she expected some words as he never did like being corrected, she had prepared praise on her tongue for him to soothe him.
But Adam had merely stayed quiet.
Accepting her help without a word, and with all the change they had been thrown in, Eve found herself wanting to hear her husband's typical complaining at not needing her aid.
The woven structure he made closed the caves entrance, she believed it was for added protection.
Which she would have been correct as Adam did not know what may come hunting after them now that their scents were all over the forest and lands. Letting predators know of a potential new prey to hunt and feast upon.
But it was also to hide away from the eyes that plagued him.
watched him, stared at his naked body relentlessly.
Inside the enclosed cave, he finally felt as if the eyes were off of him, allowing him peace and privacy only to bombard him again when he left the cave to gather clay from a nearby creek gathering it on a large rock he could pick up and carry back, quickly as he entered the cave he felt that lingering gaze on his body leave letting him shutter as he moved to the cave floor laying the cave down and started building it upwards until he had to leave for another gathering of clay trip and soon wood. The heat of the day grew and the sun beating down on him caused sweat to form against his hairline as he moved about underneath its gaze. Yet it meant the sun was hot enough to lay wood outside of the cave for it to dry so he could light a fire to keep his wife and himself warm when the harsh heated sun fell down for the moon to dance in the sky.
By sun down, they had a new home, they had a fire pit alive with a crackling fire, He had a spear and they both had blades, a place to gather clean water to drink and wash their bodies from.
And fish.
After a long day of work He still hunted even if he felt as if his body was going to collapse.
Adam after eating the smaller fish out of the two he had caught for Eve and him to eat upon that night he moved, falling onto a bed of leaves Eve had put together.
He felt her join him moments later.
"It is but little, I do apologize.” She softly spoke to him as she laid beside him, not joining on his chest, merely beside him. He did not complain as his body ached too much to have any added weight, his heavy eyelids already fighting to stay open as he turned his head to look at her.
“Thou needest not apologize, this sufficeth.” He gravely spoke, feeling the soreness of his throat now focused on it made him dry cough and move a hand to rub at the lump that stayed there. It had not yet left him, but he hoped it would soon if he drank more water to wash it away from.his throat.
Eve had spared him.a withering smile before looking at the ceiling of the cave, silence taking over them both momentarily.
“Dost thou reckon they art safe?” Eve softly whispered, making his ears slightly rang and his chest throbbed as he was forced to acknowledge your missing presence.
He had inhaled sharply beside her.
"In paradise they dwell, Beyond mere safety they reside.” He spoke, reminding Eve at how peaceful and safe the Gardens had been. He knew you were safe as long as you stayed in those gardens. Eve had gone quiet for a few moments only speaking once his eyelids had dropped, almost allowing him sleep, almost.
"Dost thou believe they shalt replace us, as did thy former wife?” She asked, it had made him freeze his eyes open as he turned to look at her.
She watched as Adam opened his mouth to speak before it fell closed, a new kind of pain moving through his eyes. Yet he did not speak any words.
Had he not thought of such things?
tears brimmed her eyes as she took one of his hands.
"Shall they forget us once a new pair of spouses doth grace their lives?” She weakly asked him, feeling how he squeezed her hand tightly a hitched breath taken in by his lips. She saw how his eyes began to water before he squeezed the shut turning to face the ceiling. She had suddenly felt cruel for asking such as she felt a tremble of his hand form.
He had not answered right away.
"They are our spouse, woven into our very being... They... They vowed to love us until their final breaths... Nay... My echo, our beloved, would not entertain the thought of another wife... nor husband. Our love endures, unyielding.” He spoke, a sting of uncertainty in his tone and yet a whole lot of beloved faith.
It had been his faith in you that made her cry silently as a wave of relief washed over her.
"Shall we ever behold them again?” she gasped out through hitching breaths. Adam had squeezed her hand pulling it up to his lips where he pressed it against them before he turned and looked at her with merely broken golden eyes.
Yet still so faithful
“"Thou canst not fathom the lengths I would traverse to ensure our reunion. I vow to make it so, my dear Eve.” His words broke and rebuilt her heart, and Eve decided if she was ever to have faith in something it was that promise.
Adams promised for you all to be together once again.
She would face whatever was thrown their way if it meant for you all to be in each other's embraces again.
she smiled at him, moving a hand to his cheek watching how his tired eyes fluttered close at her touch.
“"I harbor no doubts thou wouldst falter in such a pursuit.” She whispered. whispered her faith into him, into his promise, into the hope of once day of being with you together again.
It had taken them months to understand the new lands, months to build a simple mockery of the home they once shared, the missing of one's presence started to take its toll on the one who didn't allow themselves to mourn.
And Eve watched the cracking of your shared husband.
He had prayed everyday, still being so hopelessly devoted to the ones that abandoned them here.
He had given offerings to prove that they were still loyal followers.
Every day, every night, every meal, Adam prayed for them both, but it wasn't the same as praying in Eden. Where the sun would grow brighter after a prayer, the stars twinkle and rocket across the sky.
Here, Prayer seemed meaningless to Eve. As each time she saw how her husband would stare up to the heavens hopefully, ever waiting for something.
Something to show that they were being heard.
Yet nothing ever showed.
Frustration came from him as he hunted better offerings, he even aided in binding them clothing from what he hunted to cover them both up entirely, modestly, even offering some of her best workings to the heavens.
Until he became unmoving.
His skin dullen with his hair and nails.
His eyes drained from the scorching light in them, if he even had energy to open them.
an illness taken over him so quickly and no matter what herbs or mixtures Eve crafted to heal Adam, none deemed to work.
At night when perhaps he thought she was not awake she could hear his shuddering breaths, muffled painful weeping that came from him.
She could only hold him tighter pretending that shenwas in deep sleep, How his trembling arm would hold her so tightly as if he feared she too would be taken away like you had to both of them.
it hurt to know that she had once before.
This sickness consumed Adam, and she grew worried for him with each passing day as he went longer and longer from waking up. Her gentle shakes had begun to turn to panicked rushed ounces, her eyes brimming with tears of relief when he would finally make a sound and open his dull ringed eyes up to her honey ounces.
She wished for something that would heal her husband, to make him strong as he once was, to rebuild the dying hope into him.
And for the first time since her banishment with Adam, she had prayed. Sitting outside of their home on her knees as she could hear the soft intakes of shaking breaths that echoed in her ears of Adams' breaths, she leaned forward placing her hands in front of her palms flat onto the ground and prayed.
Prayed to anyone that would listen.
"I beseech thee... do not sever him from my side as well... grant Adam the vigor, the radiance to recover... I implore thee, withhold not him from me... I shall do all in my power... I beg of thee…” She whispered, she repeated over and over hoping to feel something, anything that she was heard, that her pleading words would be granted.
but she felt nothing.
It started with laughs leaving her lips, before she clawed at the ground sitting up and throwing whatever was in her hands around her, she screamed at the starry heavens.
"HAVE WE NOT ENDURED ENOUGH PUNISHMENT!? WHAT DOES HEAVEN REAP FROM OUR AGONY?! WHAT MEANING LIES IN FAITH IF THOU ABANDON US SWIFTLY?! HEAVEN'S LOVE, IT IS SAID, KNOWS NO FALTERING! YET THOU HAST FORSAKEN US AT OUR FIRST ERRORS! WHY ARE WE DENIED REDEMPTION WHEN THOU THYSELF ART CONSTANTLY IN FLUX?!” She screamed, a wail breaking from her lips as she clawed at her eyes.
"Pray, I acknowledge my transgressions, the anguish I have wrought. Even if thou shalt disregard me, if I am deemed unworthy of redemption in thine eyes, do not mete out such cruelty upon him. He is steadfast in his devotion, and thy averted gaze weighs heavily upon him. Thou art draining the life from him…” She pleaded, she cried the entire night, only joining back to Adam's side in the early morning's light where she held him close to her, her trembling fingers moving through his dull and brittle hair gently.
She weeped as she buried her face in his hair, hearing rasped breaths from him.
"Oh y/n, what wouldst thou do to mend our husband? To halt this unraveling?” She muttered as her tears soaked his hair, her eyes growing heavy for sleep at once and she feared when she awoke she would truly be alone.
Yet her dreams brought her peace, she was not in the realm of earth but back in paradise at the beautiful pond which the angels had blessed her and Adam with you.
She could hear laughter and she walked closer hearing splashing of water.
Her sights took in you and Adam in the crystal waters, your delighted shrills as you fumbled around with a fish in your arms, unsure of what to do as Adam clutched his knees laughing at your attempts of fishing.
"I do not joke, aid me! Husband!” you shrieked at him only making Adam laugh at your misfortune more, the sight bringing a wide smile to her lips as she neared the waters watching how Adam finally aided you in moving the fish to the shore banks with a small pile of four.
"Is this not an excessive burden?” she asked as she saw how your precious e/c eyes snapped to her, how they brightened with so much love and affection as you scrambled out of the waters to engulf her in your arms adoringly.
"My beloved wife, it is simply too much! Why dost thou walk in thy condition? It shall exhaust thee so. Permit me to carry thee back.” your tender loving words had shooker her and she pulled from you in confusion.
"Art I truly well?” She questioned hearing your soft giggles, Adam soon by your side his bright eyes burning strongly as he looked at her, concern forming on his face for a moment before a grin forming.
"Speak not so lightly, my beloved wife. Allow them to attend to thee. Our cherished spouse is filled with nothing but the purest joy at the prospect of the little one thou shalt bring unto us.” Adam spoke to her gentle words with a firmness she didn't quite understand.
little one?
Her hands moved against her own self aware thoughts to rest upon her stomach, which was slightly swollen. Shock seemed to burn through her distracting her as your arms moved under her knees around her back before she was picked up and pulled flush against your chest.
"Art thou hungry, my sweet wife? I shall gather thy favorite fruits.” You spoke to her as you walked down the familiar path to their beloved home the three of you shared, their true home.
“I…” Eve could not speak, her eyes falling over your shoulder to see Adam, a look of concern on his face, a look of pleading, to follow, to not question.
She broke their eye contact turning to look at you seeing how concern filled your eyes for a moment, how the world around you both started to seem as if it was fading.
“Yes! “ She spoke in a rush breathing thickly as she watched the world brighten and sharpen it its detail and color, she watched how your face changed to one of happiness*
You had placed her down on a thick fur mat during the fire, your hands moving into a bowl of cherries working on pushing a blade through them to remove the pits. Adam on the other side of the fire roasting the fish you both had caught. You and his chatter echoing over the fire and around the cave.
She watched you both.
Her hands rested on her stomach.
how it seemed to be real.
The fish had been heavenly, and the cherries sweeter than they ever had been on her tongue.
Everything seemed so perfect. blissful.
Your smiles had been bright, your words lovingly and tender as always.
Yet she felt pain, Eve still felt pain in this paradise…because she knew..
it could not be real.
She and Adam were banished.
You had been taken from them and them from you.
and Adan was slowly dying beside her.
Her thoughts had darken but she felt a hand on hers making her look up into bright e/c eyes, a soft sadden smile on your lips as you moved forward kissing her forehead so tenderly and softly.
"Thou must awaken now. Thou must seek sustenance for thyself and the little one.” you spoke so softly to her making her look at you in bewilderment, her eyes flicking over to Adam who seemed busy on doing something at the moment.
she felt your soft fingers against her cheek making her look at you.
"He shall press onward. Our beloved husband is resilient; this illness shall not claim him, my sweet wife. Thou shalt witness it soon, but thou must awaken.”
Your words drifted around her and the world was fading, she had desperately tried grasping onto you.
“Wait…” she gasped, feeling your hands slip from hers once again.
“Awaken.” Your words had echo.
Eve woken sharply sitting up breathing heavily, sweat pooling around her skin as she heaved, her hand moving to touch Adam's arm for comfort only meeting furrs instead. She turned, finding the furrs empty and a spout of worry formed in her soul as she scrambled up from the furrs moving to the cave entrance, shoving the thick logged door away.
“ADAM!?” She screamed in panic , filling her. She nearly screamed for him again until arms wrapped from behind her.
“I am here, beloved wife.” His words brought a tremendous comfort and a wave of relief as she turned to look up into his dull eyes, the rings around them seeming to forever stay there, but he looked at her softly.
She had so many questions and yet when she thought of them, she couldn't remember what she was going to ask. She only knew she had an experience unlike any other, she looked back into his eyes wilder on her own. She only felt his fingers find her chin tipping her face down so his lips pressed against her forehead. A sense of familiarity hit her even if she did not know why but she looked up at Adam as he pulled away a soft smile on his lips.
"All shall be well, my sun.” He assured her confidently, in such a way that was like his old self, that she could not have any other beliefs other than that everything will be well. She smiled at him as he led her back to the cave after she followed him to where he was skinning and cleaning rabbits. She watched as he shooed her away from taking over to cook the meat, watching how he stabbed the rabbit's flesh on sharpened skewers he had made and rested them over the fire pit he had built for them to roast the meat himself.
It was a tender feeling that took her as she watched Adam cook for her, a warmth filling her heart as she watched him lovingly.
Her hand unconsciously fell on her stomach as she focused on him.
His golden eyes finding her, dilling to her hand before looking at her bright honey eyes, he did not know why that sight was suddenly so important to him or why his head was filled with tender loving words of your voice, he just knew that for the first time in so many months he awoken feeling at peace, when he saw Eves tried and worried sleeping face he wanted to wash away her worries, that he felt as if they continue something tragic would happen that would make it feel as if everything is lost. So he had gotten up, washed himself from the creek and drank a fill of water before he hunted feeling light.
Feeling hopeful.
His catch was successful and he watched Eve eat the roasted meat with a sense of pride filling his chest as he ate his own much smaller portion.
And as the months continued with Adam's speedy recovery of such an illness, A new discovery made way to both his and Eve's knowledge, and Eve watched at how Adam took her in with so much pride and hope. Even as he returned from a hunt and fell to his knees in front of her his hands wiped clean on his robes she made from the leather and hide of animals to rest on her swollen stomach. scorching eyes looking at her in utter devotion as he placed his lips against her robed stomach.
His wife was creating new life.
Life that would be of you.
He pulled away a grin on his face as he looked up at Eve lovingly.
"I am so proud of thee, my beloved wife. Thou hast bestowed upon me great blessings.” He so adoringly spoke to her, making her heart warm.
No matter the outcome, love them as if they are mine own, As thine own, and thou shalt always feel my love beside thee.”
your words had echoed in his head.
