Does your Fallout 4 MC have some sort of specific backstory, is does he follow Nate's backstory?

fallout 4 was the first game i played in the series so i kinda just went along with nate’s story for Red (my mc) because i’m uncreative LMFAO

for backstory i kinda avoided power armour for the first half of the game because nate was in the military and using it might’ve brought back bad memories, but i ended up using it for dangerous missions and i took that as him getting over that fear (literally me just projecting onto him)? also i periodically forced him to stare at his dead wife back in vault 111 and bring all his friends to watch too so, and i accidentally sold nora’s ring within the first hour

some diversions from canon is that i romanced hancock and live with him and shaun in sanctuary, while using red rocket as a like.. man cave garage.. and i sided with the railroad
