I absolutely "love" the flight attendant situation here, I can't 😭💜
The way some people cannot understand that when I, an aroace-spec person, call someone "hot" it doesn't mean I'd like to share bed with them, but that I think they are a pleasing sight for my eyes. Yeah, they have good features. Yeah, they are pretty/handsome. That's it. Nothing more, it's just nice to look at them. Just like looking at some flower or aesthetically pleasing food. You don't need to like the scent of that flower or taste of that food, but it looks nice.

Okay so, I am an agender person
Usually just saying that I'm nonbinary (since it's an umbrella term and I used to see myself as genderfluid, even tho I was and still am so confused about this).
My distant friend called me a girl today, I corrected him. He asked me about my gender identity and pronouns that I use (underlining that biologically speaking I'm a female due to my body, anyway), so I told him that I go by he/him and they/them
and then he just said that "he will use 'he' but not 'they' because for him it's like talking over my back"??
I mean, okay, he said he will use one of the way to call me but
We talk in English so:
-We just say "you" when talking with each other,
-Using pronouns like that in English usually means mentioning one person to the other, not like in Polish or French (or any other language that has it) where you have masculine and feminine nouns etc., so it would be speaking about me over my back (even if positive) anyway???
It's not even that I feel very offended by that, no, I'm just hella confused. I mean, I forgot to ask him "what if I WISH to be related to as they/them"...
I did make a joke about being a raccoon when he changed "girl" to "human being".
But still, what the hell
My brain has no idea how I should even react to that conversation and his statement.
I don't think that is for him to choose specifically how to call me if I didn't say "well, choose whatever", even tho he said he will use he/him and... Should I even mention it to him next time we'll talk? Or am I making problem out of nothing?? The heck
(It would be easier if pronouns didn't fuel up my gender dysphoria and that sometimes even the ones I go by trigger negative emotions in my brain... It's complicated and I hate it ;; I will probably talk about it with him but ughhhhh)

Being a young adult is so strange. You enter a coffee shop. The 20 year old girl waiting behind you cried all night because she just came to a new city for university and she feels so alone. That 27 year old guy over there works a job he is overqualified for, he lives with his parents and wants to move out but doesn't know what to do about it. That one 24 year old dude already has a car, a house, and a job waiting for him once he graduates thanks to his dad's connections. The 26 year old barista couldn't complete his higher education because he has to work and take care of his family. The 28 year old girl sitting next to you has no friends to go out with so she is texting her mother. That couple (both 25 years old) are married and the girl is pregnant.
