The beasts of Alvyon are unique to the realms and countries that paint its surface. As unique and widely varied as the folk who dwell in these lands, so too are the animals a fascinating sight to behold. So much so, that you may even find yourself riding on the back of one! For a sizable sum, anyway.

While this post isn’t necessarily “Valdheim” content, it is something that I’ve got brewing up for my next campaign with my current players! Once this epidemic cools its jets a little bit, that is. Mind Flayer Resistance 101

As the party continues their trek through the Underdark, they uncover the potential to end the reign of terror the Illithids of Kirith’Fengal Caves hold over the entirety of the Deep Realm. To accomplish this, however, the party must infiltrate the colony in secret and destroy them (and their allies) from within. Shielding of the mind is imperative when facing these Eldritch Beasts from beyond, and in an effort to protect themselves, the party implores the aide of The Archsmith, an exiled Dwarf from the capitol of Dwarolengas, and ask him to craft them makeshift items to protect them on their journey.

These items were made for a temporary solution to the obvious problems that Mind Flayers face; but they are not made to last. Simply put, these are one-and-done types of wards, made specifically for this mission.

Items From The Underdark

In an effort to take down the infamous Blood Crescent, a group of widespread blood mages hellbent on drowning the world in blood only to have it reborn is a literal blaze of glory, the party make their way to the Underdark in the hopes of severing the connection between this evil cult and the vile races beneath the surface. While in these dark, deep, dank caves and gargantuan caverns, the party has found a few items of unique usability, and some have yet to be found. What will they do with these items, should they stumble across them in the pits of the Fomorian Fields?

Some more items from the home session, some of which have already been claimed. Hope you folks enjoy these ones! Not many are in this batch, so sorry about that. Next up, however, will be more info on the Blood Crescent, as well as a look at two of the most dangerous of their ilk; Kar’soth and Kar’hylas, the Right and Left hand of Karn the Everflame. Valdheim Magic Items #1

Most of the items listed here are either items of my own creation or items from other wonderful folks in various Homebrew communities. For those whom these are from, I take no credit, of course. More of these kinds of magical items will come shortly - but for now, enjoy these random (and hopefully useful) magical items! My players have a few of these at their disposal, and it’s fun to see them interact with them and use them in fun and creative ways!

Brinedge: Vestige

Gifted to Gamba the Bane, the most famous and revelrous pirate of all time, by Melora the Wildmother and Earathis the Lawbearer ages ago, this Vestige is a powerful sword that commands the very waters themselves. Since Gamba’s fall to the depths of the deep ocean, the sword has made its way to his daughter, Bahari Vissara (PC) and has blessed her with a new Warlock Pact - the Squall.

This homebrew is unique and tailor-made for the PC in mind, however it is an interesting item for any Swashbucklers, Pirates, or other water/nautical based PCs one may have. Feel free to test it out have fun with this crazy weapon!

Homebrew Warlock Pact: The Squall

Bahari Vissara, our Water Genasi Warlock (Lurker in the Deep), was once held to a pact with a great Kraken beneath the deep ocean - Scylla, Thirdborn of Umberlee. After discovering that, to fulfill her pact and to find a place within the occult ranks of the Children of Scylla (all turned to Water Genasis by their patron), she must give up her old life and new friends and sentence herself to servitude. Disagreeing with this immensely, she severed her pact and was left powerless, until she found her father’s magical sword - a Vestige named Brinedge.

Brinedge was a creation of the Wildmother and Erathis, a sort of loving creation from an ill-thought out tryst the two shared. As such, this item throngs with primordial powers and godly energy. When Bahari took up this weapon, she found a new pact and restored powers! Now, she serves the ocean itself - in the form of the Squall.

This homebrewed Warlock Pact was heavily inspired by the Lurker in the Deep, as some of the abilities were carried over from it directly. This was to be symbolic, and I therefore do not take credit for most of the abilities. Likewise, the Storm Aura comes from a Barbarian Primal Path, and some other abilities and Invocations come from other online sources, but tweaked slightly. This was done in an effort to create something new, fresh, and meaningful to both the character and the player.

I take no credit for most of this, other than the flavor text and the few personal designs and creations within. Still, I hope it’s cool enough to warrant a look-see!
