Re-watching 7x4 and I'm finding the subtle facial expressions during the air operations tour scene between Tommy and Buck very interesting.

I am not a gif maker, so I don't have any to use for this (I'm sorry), but when Buck says, "You should let me buy you a beer." (Boy has one pickup line, and we love it.) And then Tommy says that he has to take a rain check, you can see the sting of rejection on Buck's face. And he does this tiny nod as if to say, "right, of course. Of course, you wouldn't want to hang out with me." Like, please, this hurts my heart!!!

Then when Eddie and Tommy are talking about the fight in Vegas, you see Buck solely focus on Eddie until he says, "I was unaware." And he looks to Tommy because he's suddenly sad day panda that this man already reached out to Eddie who is more experienced in life and the man has a medal.

This scene is filmed perfectly for the "I want the cool new guy's attention but he has more in common with my best friend and I'm upset." of it all.

i suppose i should correct myself here because i see now how poor my choice of words was. when i wrote this ask i didn't mean to say that tim said to oliver that he'll make bucktommy work no matter what even if the story doesn't want to go in that direction, but that if all of this goes well he'll try to make it work. i do realize plans don't often come to fruition so it'd be foolish of tim to label them endgame from the get-go but i do feel like he wants them to work 😅

ok this is just my speculation ofc and in all probability i'm completely wrong but i feel like tim minear gave oliver his word that if this storyline with tommy is successful and if both oliver and lou are on board with it they'll go the tarlos route (hence oliver hoping that bucktommy follows a similar thread to them)

Honestly, idk if Tim would make that promise or give his word like that, just because he seems to have the chaotic nature of a ff writer in the way he plans (not all ff writers, mind you) and he's all about how the characters react to certain storylines.

I'm not sure if you've ever written ff or anything similar, but I know that for me, sometimes I want a scene to go one way, but my writing goes in a way different direction. And I know that kind of sounds odd, but if you know, you know.

I can see Tim saying that he's going to write the bucktommy storyline and that positive reactions will most likely fuel it to continue.

I can also see Tim saying that 911 needs a love story like Tarlos. And, as of this moment, it's best to bet on bucktommy.

911 really hasn't shown an actual relationship unfold through seasons like 911ls has with Tarlos. Bathena mostly happened during the break, Henren was already established, and Madney just had so much trauma, ya know? It just had a different tone to it. Plus, and please don't come for me because I adore Madney... but the writers went the pregnancy route with them which usually solidifies a relationship pretty fucking fast.

So, to answer your question, no, I don't think Tim said it like that, but I do believe it's heavily implied.

In general, im optimistic too about Tommy staying for a while.

Unless, they try to make buddie canon… at this point, I think they’re only platonic, but I don’t know what could happen.

If Buddie is not on the cards, I’m sure Tommy would be endgame, it wouldn’t make any sense to break up so soon only to get another LI…

And I think you're right. It wouldn't make sense to break them up just to get another LI. Especially when both Tim and Oliver have said that they want to stop the same 'Ole pattern that Buck has been on. Which puts Tommy in the perfect position. One thing I find interesting about relationships in this show is that the ones that last, always go through things.

Traumatic emergencies, fights, leaving... and from what we've seen so far, these lows are what ultimately makes the relationship stronger.

Having said that, we're starting to see it here. Tommy says he doesn't think Buck is ready and instead of just shrugging it off and going rogue, Buck makes the effort to not only reach out, but he tells Tommy that he's ready for something and that something could be with Tommy as long as they're both willing to try.

So, I think we're going to see bumps in their road, but only because, sure, the best things don't always come easy, but you have to be willing to make the effort.

as someone who got a cameo, you can request for it to not show up on lou’s profile and for it to stay private when you request it. so unless someone didn’t see that option, i’d say it’s fair to assume they’re okay with it being shared unless they see it and state otherwise.
