was gifted a selkie dress by my mom for my birthday a few year ago

it’s beautiful (floor length blush pink organza, off the shoulder with lace trim around the shoulder flutter and the hem of the skirt) ((it’s the candy heart romance novel if you’re curious)), but it’s clear now that the intention was for it to be my wedding dress which was not made clear when i received it

i feel ungrateful because i want to pick the dress i get married in myself

it is hard to complain about my mom only using my new name publicly. that’s what she’s supposed to do, to use the right name around other people to set a precedent.

my family obsessively writes down and remembers birthdays. they have calendar dates written down for every person in their life, including spouses, kids, pets, and exes.

so imagine my surprise when i get a middle of the night text asking for my husbands birthday to add to the calendar. the husband ive been with for 5 years that they’re just now adding to the birthday calendar.

trying to get back into using pencil crayon again and this isn't great and i couldn't quite see the colours well since i was working by desk lamp but I don't dislike it as much as I did last night. I'm hoping to do some more stuff like this and try to stylize it a little more after some practice.
