The way that Siege of Mandalore is, for all intents and purposes, basically a movie that’s just been split into four parts which is fitting since the show started with a movie so it’s only appropriate to end it with one. The way the opening battle on Yerbana parallels the battle on Christophsis in the first movie with Anakin, Obi-Wan, Rex and Cody fighting on a bridge to defend a city and using the false surrender war crime trick to defeat the Separatists, and in the middle of both battles Ahsoka shows up in a ship and walks down the ramp meaning their first time meeting her perfectly parallels their reunion. The way Ahsoka races Rex just like she raced Anakin in the movie except when she was racing Anakin they were going up a cliff whereas when she races Rex they’re going down to the surface, in other words the ascent has been replaced by a descent because everything’s about to come crumbling down. The way that pretty much all of the show’s biggest subplots that don’t already get resolved in ROTS (Ahsoka, the clones, Maul, Mandalore) have all been built up separately before slowly but surely coming together and are now finally colliding and preparing to come to a head in the finale. The writers were clearly drinking their big-brain galaxy juice for this ending and it SHOWS.
