"Oh, that gross kissing day is about a week away isn't it? Ugh. Can't we just skip it this year? And every year afterward? Let's just forget it was ever a thing people did."

“Honestly you’re probably better off for it. Can’t stink any worse than dealing with all that mushy stuff.” Whether or not she can feel her intention, the smaller girl’s reply is dead serious.

★ "Dating...? You know those people who marry an inanimate object? That'll be me."

"With a garbage can." Her deadpan delivery makes it very difficult to tell if she's joking or not.

"Sounds to me like you're not in the business of losing to children and just don't want that to start."

"I'm not in the business of fighting children."

"Well, seek no more! I'm just about the strongest fighter around back home and I haven't gotten to prove it in a long time. I'm so up for it!"

"I seek a worthy opponent."

"Man...I really wish there was some kinda costume contest going on. I totally would've applied to be a judge. I dunno if it would've worked, but it would've at least been hilarious."

"You can do tricks all day every day. I don't see any reason to hold off for another minute!"

"What time does trick or treat start? Or can I do the tricks all day..."

"I have no idea what this latest weirdo change in the city did to me, but this is AMAZING!! It's like I can feel the whole planet underneath me if I just hold myself real strong and steaady like this! Can I stay like forever?"

The much-greener-and-vinier Toph seems to have some kind of roots coming from her legs into the ground, quite oblivious to the full extent of her condition.

Instantly Toph’s senses were on alert. It was a small shake- definitely made by someone, not a natural tremor. Her own seismic sense picked up on where it had come from and the little girl now sat down right in the center. She hurried over and bent down, offering a hand to help her up.

“Hey, was that earthquake from you? I haven’t met anyone else here who’s been able to do that!”

WHOOPS. A small baby tremor was not what she was trying to do. Pandora was trying to summon a baby demon like she had done before. Even though the little earthquake was just small, it was still enough to cause the young demon to fall on her tush.

Oof.

Her tail swishes behind her, thumping against the ground as if showcasing her annoyance.

Toph's had her fair share of engaging conversations with strangers, whether back at home or here in Spirale. For as long as she'd been here, it still provided some pleasure to the quieter times.

"I get that. Even with the wild random events that keeps cropping up every now and then, it still just feels...routine." She turns her back to the railing, leaning back against it with her head toward the ground. "We deal with whatever crazy crud they throw at us, then everything goes back to normal. It's hard to feel like we're doing anything of note sometimes."

Edelgard is not one to care about intermingling her affairs with strangers, even as the night sky darkens her shadow. She sighs, letting her arms lean against the outdoor railing.

"These days blend together unnervingly.. Am I the only one who feels this way?" Even if so, it will not deter the emotions she has bottled and suppressed. "I've spent more time doing.. nothing, than I care to admit."

Still some days left- time for an event pt 2 starter call! With her full power restored, Toph is all too eager to help kick some butt! …Unfortunately, due to the circumstances the dwellers are in, the only one she’ll be able to fight is in Yesteryear, and a lot of her concentration will be in keeping everything stable. She' can still be helpful in fighting latchers that creep into the settlements, and if you're fighting off ones that have snuck the station, she can show off her metalbending! (She really wants to show off her metalbending guys)

"Eating rocks? Pfft, how do you guys think I got so great at earthbending? The best way to move the rock is to take it into your gut- BE the rock!" A slam of her foot shot a sizable chunk of rock into the air, with a step back before shooting the same foot forward again making a pillar to smash it on its way back down. "Go for it! You all have my full support."

"I'm pretty sure we've tried this before..."

"But like heck I'm gonna stop trying before I move that thing! Point me in its direction Kay- that moon is MINE!!"

"Since the moon is a big rock... and you have rock powers... does that mean you could..."

"HA! You chumps still believe in the Moon. That's rich."

That was something they'd agree upon, were the point to be brought up. Toph much preferred fighting people, or any other opponents who could speak and think. It made it all the more fun when she wound up humiliating them.

"Eh, you stick around here long enough, you learn there's all sorts of places out there with humans. It was weird to find out, but I got used to it pretty fast." It wasn't any more alarming than having to get used to being in a "modern" city given what she was used to.

Speaking of things she was used to- oh boy! Condescension!

"Lady, everywhere I go is a dangerous place. Then I leave and it's safe again." A dismissive hand was thrown out in the large woman's direction. "I appreciate the concern, really, but maybe worry more about yourself, okay? I'll be fine."

If they wanted to attack her, she'd gladly oblige... though, even animals that large are still just animals. She prefers to fight opponents who can understand why they're fighting.

That's how she justifies her choice to just sit around and watch them, anyway. Can't have anyone thinking she's lazy. Or worse... actually impressed.

"I thought humans all lived on the same planet. 'Habitable zones' or something. Speaking of, isn't this a dangerous place for you to be?"

"And what about it?" Lack of demeaning intention aside, she can't help but imply some offense. Of course, she couldn't really be too upset about it, since... "I've met guys as big as you and kicked their butts before. Humans can do some pretty amazing stuff...well, the humans I know at least." Okay...maybe this guy was actually a foot or two taller than the Boulder and every other Earthbending Rumble competitor she'd gone up against. But she could take on a fighter of his size for sure. Probably.

"Humans are so...small." War observes, but he doesn't mean it in a demeaning way. It's an observation laced with curiosity.

"Not mine, that's for sure. I've never even heard of dinasours where I come from, but I'd prefer to have them around over most people I know. They're a lot easier to understand- you don't bother them, they won't bother you...mostly."

She'd been through this song-and-dance before, so she had some idea of how to handle the dinos. Though the fact remained they were big, strong monsters- if any decided she and this big lady were worth attacking, there might be trouble.

"So those are dinosaurs?"

She's pointing to a herd of long-necked behemoths peacefully demolishing a forest's worth of trees.

"You're telling me Earth used to be full of these monsters, but then they replaced them with worse animals? Whose idea was that?!"
