It's what she admired about March / was she aware of that? That despite the teasing and bickering, it was a quality of hers that made Stelle's experience on the astral express so ... warm. Well, if she got too sentimental about it (feelings that often felt lost and void to her, a gap that ached somewhere inside) March would get embarrassed and probably tell her to stop making things weird. So for now, she'll keep that to herself.

It was an early morning. Stella had asked Sol to join her on the nearby test track to test the first functional prototype of the next model… with neither the cyber system, nor Zero Realm.

That meant zero assists, on a car that made 1,940 horsepower and weighed only 477 kilograms (~1,051 pounds). A power-to-weight ratio of nearly two (higher in metric).

Things were calm at first, but then Stella started to push her luck.

"Fine! If I can't pass you normally…" She was sending the car in sideways! "Then let's try this!"

"Ngh-!" Sol held his ground in a borrowed SA-01/C, keeping the STAR driver at bay. "Tch. Getting dangerous, are we?"

In the very next corner, Stella did it again! Seems this was her strategy now. "How about this?!"

"Not good enough!" Sol had learned to trust Stella's skills, and assumed she wouldn't push too hard. So, he continued to drive defensively.

"Come on, come on!" Perhaps Stella was starting to push a little too hard.

"Wha-?!" Sol was barely keeping the lead. However, Stella was barely keeping the car under control. "If this keeps up…"

Stella suddenly threw the car in way too fast! Or at least, it certainly seemed that way!

Sol watched her in his mirror, fear in his eyes. "Stell, no! What are you doing?!"

To the untrained eye, and additionally to Sol's protective gaze, that looked like the end. However, mirroring someone that she looked up to…

… She pulled through. She successfully overtook her opponent, and learned how to drift something as monstrous as the AKF-11.

"Dear Zeus… That mare really is crazy…" But it was a relief for him to see that she didn't get herself killed over an unofficial race.

Per il veicolo elettrico (EV) dell’anno, la mia scelta è ricaduta con ferma convinzione non solo su uno specifico modello (Seal) ma addirittura su un intero Costruttore: BYD. Bild Your Dreams (BYD) – ovvero, un Marchio da prendere in seria considerazione per il value for money incarnato dall’intera gamma del Costruttore cinese: un gigante mondiale operativo dal 1995 che nel 2023 ha venduto la ragguardevole cifra di 3 milioni di veicoli (di cui 1 milione 600 mila EV, contro i 1,8 milioni di EV venduti da Tesla che conserva così ancora per il 2023 il titolo di maggiore Costruttore di EV) con un incremento del 61,9% rispetto al 2022 (vedi relativo lancio d’agenzia Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/chinese-ev-giant-byd-posts-62-jump-2023-vehicle-sales-2024-01-01/ ; o il relativo articolo di BBC News: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-67860232 ), un colosso in grado di costruire intra moenia il 75% dei componenti delle proprie vetture – batterie incluse. V’è poi la piattaforma 3.0, specificamente progettata per veicoli elettrici, con la batteria posta nel pianale a svolgere anche funzioni strutturali – migliorando così precisione di guida e sicurezza (5 stelle Euro NCAP – 89% protezione adulti a bordo) -, con sospensioni MacPherson all’avantreno ed un raffinato sistema multibraccio (5 bracci, per la precisione) per il retrotreno. I dati relativi a BYD Seal parlano da soli: 480cm di lunghezza, 292cm di passo, 82,5kWh per la batteria – e due versioni: la Excellence AWD (trazione integrale con due motori), in grado di sviluppare ben 530cv e di accelerare da 0 a 100 km/h in 3,8 secondi, posta in vendita all’allettante cifra di 49.390,00 euro (per una vettura completa di tutto, praticamente senza optional a pagamento); e la Design RWD (trazione posteriore), in grado di sviluppare 313cv e di accelerare da 0 a 100 km/h in 5,9 secondi, posta in vendita all’altrettanto allettante cifra di 46.890,00 euro.
