In Perfect Cherry Blossom, if you shoot Ran's 幻神「飯綱権現降臨」 Illusion God "Descent of Izuna-Gongen" the spellcard gets more and different types of bullets as you deplete Ran's healthbar. A similar thing happens with Yukari's 結界「生と死の境界」 Barrier "Boundary of Life and Death".
However, if you timeout these two spellcards, the spell will be in the "first phase" until the timer reaches 30 seconds, after which it unleashes a very powerful variant.

After many years, the Characters page is now finished
You can find it at https://touhou-memories.com/characters
It contains links to the appearances of all characters in all games (collages, gifs, etc.), categorized accordingly to the legend on the left side of the screen. The page also has a filter which allows you to find the characters that appeared in a specific game. Please let me know if you encounter any issues with this page (this includes typos, wrong links and so on).
Hope this page will be useful to some of you ~
In order not to clutter the main menu with too many links, the Characters list can be found in the Miscellaneous page, together with the Music list.
The Music list has been removed from the main menu, for consistency.

Leftover sprites from Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
If you extract the files from Perfect Cherry Blossom, you will see that stg1enm contains Cirno sprites and stg2enm and stg3enm have a Koakuma and some Patchouli sprites. While Cirno appears during stage 1, she only uses one of the sprites (check #cirno7 tag for reference). The rest are unused.
There are small differences between the EoSD sprites and the PCB ones: the first Cirno sprite has some dark outlines and the second one has more evidentiated eyes in PCB. It also seems that Patchouli's has a slightly different shade in the lower part of her dress.

Unused Kurumi sprite from Lotus Land Story
While remaking the gifset with Kurumi back in January, I was also checking the spritesheet for anything that didn't appear in game. There was one sprite that didn't seem to be part of any attack.
This is based on observation, so if I am mistaken please let me know!

Other unused sprites from Violet Detector
There are more unused sprites than the ones mentioned in this particular post, you can find the rest at: /post/184510863039/ (bat forms), /post/187304872254/ (Eiki Shiki), /post/185520084644/ (Ran Yakumo), /post/185597819729/ (Yuyuko Saigyouji) and /post/186746662979/ (Raiko Horikawa).
The reason I decided not to delete the other posts and make a final post now with all the sprites is that I want it to be visible that they were posted in 2019. I found out something that has deeply upset me (more details under the cut).
I don't say two different people can't reach the same conclusion while independently researching something (because it can happen and that's perfectly normal), but some things are so obviously scraped from other sources without any regards of the other person's research. On tcrf wiki in the Unused Sprites section, you can currently find only the 5 characters that I posted about in 2019.
Somebody decided to just take the information from my website and post it on the tcrf wiki in 2023. No mention of where they found it. And don't tell me this was their own research of the game files because if it was a true research they would have found the other unused sprites as well. Or what, just because they posted the transparent background versions of them this means they shouldn't give credit anymore? I link back to information sources even if for the posts I take own screenshots and gifs.
How comes that only the info from the five posts specifically is there? It's too big of a coincidence for me to believe this was not taken from my website. Again, in many cases I am reasonable and am aware people can find same stuff on their own, but come on, this is clearly not the case here.
I did not post everything in 2019 because at that time I was still actively doing the gifsets with the characters' appearances. The last gifset was finished around 2022 and by then I realised there were quite a lot of unused sprites and it would be better just to compile them in one post rather than post them separately. I was going to delete the old posts at the end and have it all gathered in one final post. But changed my mind after seeing this.
When I take information from another website I link it in the decription of the post, why is it so hard when it comes to my research to be linked back when it's reposted on other platforms. It makes me so angry. How comes that when some people take information from other websites they link back to the source, but when stuff is taken from here it's as if my website doesn't exist at all.
It's so disrespectful.

The "Legacy Mode NoMiss Clear!" congratulation screen from Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom has some additional messages for Normal, Hard and Lunatic difficulties, which are different from one another. On Easy mode there isn't any additional message.

In Mountain of Faith, if you stay on the SE Volume option, it will keep repeating the sound. In ver. 0.01, the speed at which it was repeating was very fast. The speed was lowered in ver. 0.02a.

Minamitsu Murasa's 幽霊「シンカーゴースト」 Phantom "Sinker Ghost" survival spellcard from Undefined Fantastic Object (Normal mode). On Hard and Lunatic the spellcard is called 幽霊「忍び寄る柄杓」 Phantom "Dipper Creeping Close".

The second loading screen from Hidden Star in Four Seasons trial version showed the "Now Loading" text and the fps on the purple pattern in the bottom right corner. But in the full version, the "Now Loading" text and the fps seem to be under the purple pattern.

The title screen of Unconnected Marketeers doesn’t have any animated effects in the background. But if you select “Game Start” option and then return to the main menu, the rising rainbow circles effect will be overlayed on the title screen.
You can make it go away by selecting anything else from the menu (excepting "Option") and return to the title screen. This happened in the trial versions too.
This issue exists in Hidden Star in Four Seasons (see /post/174756345429/), Wily Beast and Weakest Creature (see /post/746228896188465152/) and Ten Desires (see /post/746223732908081152/), but while in HSiFS and WBaWC it's the "Game Start" option that does this, in TD it's the "Spell Practice" one.

The way the title screen was transitioning to one of the menu's option screens was different in ver. 0.01a of Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom. When you selected a menu option, the logo of the game from the right side of the screen would simply vanish.
This was changed in ver. 0.01b where if you selected a menu option, the logo would move to the right and fade away, similarly to how Reimu does on the left side.

In Ten Desires you can see a falling petal effect on the background if you select most of the menu options. But when you return back to the main menu, the petals would be gone.
However, when returning from Spell Practice, you will still be able to see falling petals in the right side of the screen. Entering and exiting any other menu (exepting "Option") will get rid of the petals.
This thing did not happen before Ten Desires and was not fixed by the 1.00c patch either. Some other games after Ten Desires have a similar behaviour, but I will post about them separately.
