Thank you for this!
Will definitely implement the comfort clothing idea and try to get her to listen to music she likes, but I'm not sure if she'd be too keen on wearing headphones since having her hearing muffled makes her anxious sometimes.
Asking others to be present is a good idea also! We might try and "schedule" parts when we write up our leaving-the-house plans that we do weeks before public trips :)
Thank you again!! <3
One of our parts almost ALWAYS fronts whenever we're in loud, crowded, or otherwise overwhelming environments.
The problem? They're agoraphobic, and a symptom holder of many of our disorders which make us more vulnerable to public harassment.
We can't control switches. We've tried, it doesn't work. Until we're able to do that (if we ever even get there), what's something we can do in the meantime? Right now we're too scared to leave the house at all because it takes DAYS for us to recover from these switches.

Language Use and System Role in Plural Communities Online
Have you ever wondered if system members with certain roles are likely to use certain typing styles? So have I! So for my sociolinguistics class, I did a project on it.
I used a questionnaire and gathered over 250 responses from various members of the community active on tumblr and discord. Due to the method, my results need to be interpreted as a view into how people feel about texting styles; self-reported linguistic data is often more reflective of people's attitudes than the things they actually do, so further research is needed to determine whether people's attitudes are true in practice.
Here's what I learned:
There is a widespread idea in the plural community that system members should communicate differently from one another. This may be alienating for systems who all share one communication style over text.
The idea of "proper grammar" is a group of traits, and every trait must be present for something to count as proper grammar. So "hey guys i'm doing something cool" would not be proper grammar, and neither would "Hey guys Im doing something cool", but "Hey guys, I'm doing something cool." would count
Gatekeepers are associated with use of proper grammar.
I also used this project as an opportunity to ask the community what we would like to see studied in the future; the entire list can be found in the complete paper.
Here is the paper in Google Docs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PsZxxm61MnfrfkeLnCouh8qJUG-yku2aHHE5pKc7CJI/edit?usp=sharing

transfem headmates who exist in an afab body you are cool. transmasc headmates who exist in an amab body you are cool. trans headmates who exist in a body that doesn't present the way you do you are cool.
the way someone presents doesnt necessarily equal their gender. that includes plurals.

guess i learned the hard way that repressing my plurality for literal years can end up causing PNES. so here's your warning not to repress dissociative disorders. or plurality in general since I'm not saying this can't happen to non-dissociative systems.

They say this about our personality too. But I need you to understand that we are mentally and physically disabled, unable to work, and rely entirely on our parents financially to care for us and house us. Their opinion of us will affect their treatment of us.
It is a very privileged idea to think that a 'coming out' would go well. VERY. Especially when so many systems' trauma comes from their childhood upbringing?????
My parents: One day you're grunge, the next you're goth, and the day after that you're dressed like an adult toddler! It's like you have a wardrobe for every personality– like one of those, uh, you know, the people on TV with multiple personality disorder! A hundred bodies in one!

Plural culture is discovering that the system host might actually be a subsystem and that there’s multiple different versions of them, but also everyone in the subsystem is really similar to each other so they don’t actually want to be differentiated all that much so we don’t know how that actually affects us

Do you have any resources for RAMCOA? Resources for like...the types of programs and stuff like that. We're going through things and trying to research and pinpoint things, but finding resources has been absolute hell. If you get this twice, I'm sorry. Our tumblr is kind of shit.
Hello! I have several resources that I think may be helpful to you:
This document (LINK) of "rare programs" and their descriptions, posted by @killercatboys.
Chapters 4 and 7 of Becoming Yourself by Alison Miller (LINK) discuss programming and chapter 7 includes an anecdote with specific programs and definitions. The entire book is really a great read and is geared towards survivors of RAMCOA, just be sure to take it slow and take care of yourself.
Common Programs Observed in Survivors of Satanic Ritualistic Abuse by David W. Neswald (LINK) - massive trigger warning for suicide, self-harm, and abuse.
Spin Programming: A Newly Uncovered Technique of Systematic Mind Control by John D. Lovern (LINK) - includes symptoms, implementation, and uses of spin programs; trigger warning for abuse/torture methods.
Healing the Unimaginable by Alison Miller (LINK) is geared towards therapists and professionals and includes more in-depth information about RAMCOA than Becoming Yourself does. Again, massive trigger warning throughout the book for RAMCOA.
Kinds of Torture Endured in Ritual Abuse and Trauma-Based Mind Control by Ellen P. Lacter (LINK) - partial list of torture methods used in RAMCOA; trigger warning for abuse, near-death, and torture.
Mind Control: Simple to Complex by Ellen P. Lacter (LINK) - describes twelve "stages" of mind control and programming, going from outward compliance to torture/trauma-based mind control; trigger warning for descriptions of abuse.
Some Indicators of Trauma-Based Mind Control Programming by Ellen P. Lacter (LINK) provides common indicators of TBMC; most survivors of programming will have many of these indicators, but their presence does not prove the existence of TBMC and their absence does not prove that one has not experienced TBMC.
Adult and Adolescent Indicators of Ritual Trauma by Ellen P. Lacter (LINK) provides indicators of ritual abuse in teens and adults; as with the last bullet point, their presence does not prove ritual abuse and their absence does not disprove it.
Child Indicators of Ritual Abuse Trauma in Play and Art by Ellen P. Lacter (LINK) provides potential indicators of ritualized abuse in children and pre-teens; as with the previous two bullet points, their presence does not prove ritual abuse and their absence does not disprove it.

rapid switching today. not nice. first time has happened. know what trigger is– processing earlier experience where felt threatened by parent (was bragging about hurting stranger). means we have been switching and cannot commit to any task so just been doing nothing for many hours. body hurts, too weak. feel sad and very very scared.

tips for depressed, chronically ill, & disabled littles
it can sometimes be hard to feel little when you spend a lot of time in pain, bedridden, dealing with scary big thoughts, or any of the other things that can accompany mental or physical disabilities so these are things i do to feel small with little effort
ᯓ★ keep soft blankets + stuffies near you
literally what’s smaller than having your soft little comfort plushes with you? this is probably the easiest thing i do that always makes me feel at least a little smaller
ᯓ★ download mobile games for kids
if you aren’t someone who can get up and down off the floor or if you’re in a lot of pain, or if its just a rough day and you want to stay in bed little kid games are good for feeling tiny
ᯓ★ play baby music or soft lullabies
if you’re not feeling up to playing at all and just need to rest lullabies and nursery rhymes are rlly good for helping you rest and helping you feel tiny
ᯓ★ age regression fanfic
this might sound silly by at a little with chronic pain something that genuinely helps me is mood boards, one shots, etc. about my favorite fictional cgs
ᯓ★ think of your ‘lazy’ clothes as baby clothes
toddlers and babies are almost always dressed in comfy soft clothes so if you’re always in your soft sweatpants or cozy pjs to alleviate discomfort it’s just like little kids getting dressed in their soft little clothes
ᯓ★ middle regression is always an option
if you’re worried about regressing because you have to take care of yourself (ex. handle a walking aid, medicine, etc.) middle regression is super accessible because you can be regressed and do a lot of the things big you can already do
middle regression can also entail less rambunctious/active play (videos games, reading, coloring, etc.)
ᯓ★ audio books
if you look up ‘audio kids books’ or some form of that on youtube you can find kids stories read aloud! its something super fun that can make you feel small and you can do it anywhere at anytime.
ᯓ★ calming kids activities
there are a whole bunch of websites that have ‘calm down’ activities for when kids are winding down from rambunctious play and i use those a lot (playing with play dough, sensory toys, singing abcs/nursery rhyme games)
ᯓ★ remember not all regression looks the same
you don’t have to do anything to be small or to be valid as a regressor, regression looks different for everyone. there are ppl who regress and watch horror movies or ppl who regress while doing big kid things like going to the store or to school. your disability, no matter what form it comes in, does not invalidate your regression.
these are some of the things that i do, feel free to add more if you’re a little with disabilities, ily!!!!
