(My apologizes if this is sent twice!) Tone Police, I have a question. How do you approach someone who accuses you of being "white identifying" or, as much as I hate to say it, an "uncle tom"?

Sorry I took so long to reply! I don’t have personal experience with this type of thing, so I wanted to give the other officers a chance to answer first. 

However, my suggestion would be to approach the situation calmly. Usually when people launch personal attacks it’s because they feel like they are backed into a corner. If you explain why you would rather not be accused of that and why it is really incorrect in a manner that doesn’t seem threatening, it can diffuse the situation and make the other person more rational! Usually when I see this happen on the internet, it seems to be because the other person doesn’t agree with your argument. And that motivation should be discussed between the two of you because they need to understand that your opinions don’t make you any less of who you really are! In the end, not everyone is going to be receptive. It’s good to know when to quit because talking to people who throw around personal attacks can be tiring to deal with. I wish you luck!

We would just like for you to know that with the recent Yahoo acquisition of tumblr, fear not! We are still just as powerful as before, and we remain alive despite evidence to the contrary. In the wake of tragedy, death wishes are hardly appropriate, nor are they ever appropriate. Telling someone to drink bleach is a blatant violation of tone law and death is something you should never wish upon anyone.

UPDATE: The situation in question seems to have settled down. As such, the tone police will not intervene at this time. However, we will be monitoring the situation in the case of illegal escalation. We would like to thank the anonymous citizen for the tip, rest assured we will continue to look into the situation closely.

I was going to try to stay out of this, but...

As an officer of the tone force, I cannot sit idly as someone tells someone else to "get raped bitch." Justice doesn't care what the context is, it is never all right to say that to someone, regardless of the argument. I try, as an officer, to understand why people say things like this, but this is horrible. Is rape a joke to you? Is it something you throw lightly into arguments with people on the internet? Because that is something very serious to a lot of people and a blatant violation of tone. 

A citation shall be delivered to tumblr user smileypinecone in the form of a strongly worded letter over the mail. 

Next time, remember not to be a dick before you post on the internet because this is disgusting.

Francinne-Keyes Holmesworth was quite possible the best example of civil tone, despite the hate 'she' received. Her lesson should extend to all facets of our life and certainly provides great commentary on the environment of tumblr.

Francieum Project 2012: The Truth

As Francieum’s time on Tumblr has come to a rapid halt within the past few months, it’s time to make the final comment on all that has occurred. 

As most of you may have guessed, or already known, Francinne was not a real person, but rather a character and an idea. Originally, this blog was first created by three friends for laughs and satirical purposes. Little did we know that Francieum would blow up.

Francieum soon became a means to observe people on Tumblr.com and their reactions to the things Francieum posted and commented. The results of this investigation proved tragic, but at the same time really served to reveal the human race as it is.

People on tumblr say they’re accepting, but accepting of what? They say they’re accepting, but they’re only accepting of what they want to be accepting of. They see an orthodox Christian girl, who also seemingly has the potential to be borderline autistic or have been diagnosed with aspergers, taking many posts literally and clearly missing the joke. What to they do? They harass her. They send her hateful messages and throw other harsh criticisms her way. You can pass this off by saying that it’s “just the internet” but no, you’re just a bully. You can say that you were only doing it because you kinda knew that we were trolling, but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re a bully. You can justify your actions by saying that you only did it because Francieum was ruining your precious text posts, but no, you’re just a bully. Make any excuse you please, but if you in anyway sent a harassing comment or made any type of rude post targeting the idea of Francinne Keyes-Holmesworth, you are a bully.

Because the truth here is, whether or not you thought Francinne was a troll, you didn’t really know. Let this serve as a lesson to all of you out there who sit behind your screens and dish out hate and pent up anger without thinking, as you are the type of people who make this world a difficult world to live in. Francinne was a very good person and a rough, although not perfect, epitome of what kind of compassion should exist within human beings.

Some of you who really believed that Francinne was real - my sincerest apologies, but it’s a sad matter of this world that no one like her does exist. So with this, I am off. If you’d like to know our main blogs (there are three of us!) drop off a message and we just might give it to you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we’ll try our best to get to it. I’m sorry if this message was incoherent and had a lot of inconsistency and chock full of grammatical/spelling errors, but I hope I got my point through. Be kind to everyone you meet, as hard as it is, because the truth is you don’t really know the stories behind all the people you meet.

Not everyone in life is going to understand the jokes you make. Not everyone is going to find them funny. Not everyone is going to be free of mental/emotional problems. Not everyone is going to be like you, and that doesn’t automatically allow you to jump up and harass them. People are different, and you need to be accepting of that.

madneckbeards, I need you to hand over your laptop/computer/smartphone/ whatever way you access internet, because you are a tone violator, and I cannot simply allow you to keep committing these  tone atrocity's anymore, especially ones of this severity.

Firstly, the original post is full of so many violations of tones, with no regard of respect to human beings, white women in specific. Making assumptions calling all of them and I quote " Pathetic human beings" no human is pathetic nor deserving of that kind of generalization being all we're all unique and special to lump them together seems like an insult to basic humanity.

Secondly, saying" but white bitches are literally some of the dumbest, most racist, idiotic, and just plain entitled sluts in the world." is just awful and revolting. Referring to women as 'bitches' IS NOT OKAY no matter what race,class,religion,political views or  sexual orientation.  Also nice job slut-shaming an entire section of women, devaluing their intelligence and calling them racist unjustly, how very mature of you.

Lastly, cryfil was absolutely in the right to call you and rape-is-a-mans-best-friend out, responding with " Shut the fuck up you white douche. God you people are scum." is wrong, calling anyone a douche and making a point to use their race against them, IS WRONG, regardless of the race. Calling anyone who doesn't agree with you scum is wrong as well.

You have been found at fault for being this biggest dick of the month of February, I want you down at the station for finger printing and photos.You're sentencing will be discussed and reviewed by the tone officers, you will be notified shortly of what is decided.
