Seeing other writers on tumblr talk about writing is so validating because all of them are basically:
“I hate writing but I love it more than anything but it’s agony but I have a million stories to put to paper but I barely ever write a word”
And like I’ve always felt this way and I worried it meant I wasn’t supposed to be a writer, which tore me to shreds. But no. That’s just the curse of being one, I guess.

Dragons. I used to be obsessive about drawing them, but they feel 'childish' to my brain sometimes, when in reality they're just a lot of fun. It's tough to just relax and not worry about a piece not generating some kind of income, or not resonating with social media. Or just drawing without the intention of posting it at all. Working on it though!

Dear Chuck, I’m getting Camp Damascus for my niece for her 16th birthday, and if you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to ask a favor:
Whenever I get my nieces books by authors on Tumblr, I always ask the author what piece of advice they’d give themselves at that age, and write it in the front cover of the book. I think it’s a cool way to give them some wisdom they might take more seriously than just hearing it from their parents, and also what teenager doesn’t think it’s kind of cool to get advice directly from someone famous?
So in that vein: I would like to ask, if you could tell your 16-year-old self anything, what would it be?

I wanted to do something fun and simple for my first steam after being gone for almost a month, so I combined two of my favorite things: books and cats!
