This was more than just a sunrise when I took this last year. Upon arrival I heard the calls of several gulls out in Lake Ontario. Even though I still see snow in my yard, I know Spring has sprung when the waterfowl have started returning to the shores of Lake Ontario. I caught this merganser really, really, really far away but it’s the sun that took me by surprise as it rose from the horizon. It looked like the orange sky was burning the sun with its flame-like pattern eating into the sun. (it was just clouds in front of the sun, but that doesn’t sound very exciting) .
