It’s not your typical bald eagle picture but that’s why I like it. . There’s a reason why I cropped it this way. In the full image I had clipped one of the wings so it didn’t look good. Instead of tossing it away into the egarbage bin, I salvaged it by creatively cropping into the body. Vancouver Island is an island in the northeastern Pacific Ocean and part of the Canadian province of British Columbia. The island is 456 km (283 mi) in length, 100 km (62 mi) in width at its widest point, and 32,100 km2 (12,400 sq mi) in total area, while 31,285 km2 (12,079 sq mi) are of land. The island is the largest by area and the most populous along the west coasts of the Americas. The southern part of Vancouver Island and some of the nearby Gulf Islands are the only parts of British Columbia or Western Canada to lie south of the 49th parallel. This area has one of the warmest climates in Canada, and since the mid-1990s has been mild enough in a few areas to grow Mediterranean crops such as olives and lemons.

Even though I still see snow in my yard, I know Spring has sprung when the waterfowl have started returning to the shores of Lake Ontario. I caught this merganser really, really, really far away but it’s the sun that took me by surprise as it rose from the horizon. It looked like the orange sky was burning the sun with its flame-like pattern eating into the sun. (it was just clouds in front of the sun, but that doesn’t sound very exciting) .
