âI loved when he looked right at me. His kind of âold-boy shyness.â He had a real tough exterior - I shouldnât say a tough exterior - he had a real male exterior but there was a sweetness, a shyness in it too which is so appealing in a man. He wasnât a bravado guy we had a lot of guys come in to read and they were kind of like, you know, smart and hip and sharp and they were going to control Ann Marie. Ted had a whole other thing with you could just see that he would know how to deal with her as opposed to try to tame her.â
- Marlo Thomas about her co-star Ted Bessell in That Girl

George Harrison in Munich, Germany, 17 February 1988; photos by Fryderyk Gabowicz. Photos © Fryderyk Gabowicz/akg images.
âBRAVO photographer Fryderyk Gabowicz watched as the superstar arrived at the âFormel einsâ studio and calmly signed dozens of autographs, shook all of his fansâ hands; and he [the photographer] decided to set up lamps for a photosession - right in front of Georgeâs dressing room.
Fryderyk had come prepared, bringing along a Ephiphone guitar from his own collection. It was the same model Master Harrison had played during Beatle days. His plan worked. No sooner had he played few notes on the guitar than the door opened, George appeared to see who was playing. He grabbed the guitar and played three blues numbers.â - translated from Bravo, issue no. 10 1988 (x)
From that same day, a recollection by a German music journalist (who hopefully wonât mind that I translated his recollections).
âNo star on the door, no bodyguard, instead, a small, humble room. And inside it George Harrison with a cup of tea in front of him. [âŠ] George Harrison! THE George Harrison!
Fritz [Egner] asks and asks - it all rushes by me like a quiet and sweet river. George anwers and answers, and I am blessed, even though I canât understand everything. George Harrison is dressed completely normally, and he has radiates tranquility. âDear God, this person has found his calmness within you! I thank you for this moment!â [âŠ] At the end, he signs autographs on Cloud Nine promotional cards for Fritz and myself. But as I am leaving the small room, he brings me back again and wants to see his autographed card again. Good God, does he want to take it away again? No! He draws a big heart and a big peace sign on the back.
âWhat do you mean with that?â I ask, as composed as possible. âIt means nothing more than love and peace, my wish for all people in this world.â âCan I use this sign and word with my signature, too?â 'Of course! All sweet people should do so!â
And then he hugged me. George Harrison hugged me. Even though I hadnât even conducted an interview or anything else. He didnât know who I was. And he still hugged me. With Love and Peace. It wouldnât have taken much else and I would have floated away.
And since then, the heart and the peace sign - or even the words 'love and peaceâ - are a firm and unshiftable part of my signature. I couldnât imagine anyone or anything changing that.
Love and Peace, dear friend, God bless you!â - Arno Frank Eser, translated from the German book Beatlemania (x)

i hate how the mary poppins musical cut out the mom being a suffragette. i thought that was super cool when i was a little kid and it actually led to my parents discussing the womenâs suffrage movement in the uk and the us with me. i donât see why they had to cut that out.
