Progress Log 39
A great deal of thought has gone into this next phase of planning. While I do not want to divulge everything just yet, I propose a question to you.
What patterns have you noticed in your life?
How many are your own habits? How many have no beginning, so directed by muscle memory that there is no clear source to their origin? How many are outside of your sphere of influence, and how many of them are you subjected to? Which are out of your control, and which can you change?
How often does it feel like the machinations of your life play out like scenes on a stage?
Stories have archetypes, shorthands with sources going back all the way to the very beginnings of consciousness. These instinctual roles we oft fall into have informed the decisions of every person who has ever crafted a tale, anyone with a unique viewpoint they have wanted to share with the world. They are tools, intended to be played with, or broken to subvert expectations.
But the source comes from somewhere.
Perhaps these can be applicable to the real world. The same beats have played out over and over throughout history, and they did not come from thin air. Perhaps taking a step back and examining the threads around you may reveal more than you initially thought - and you may also begin to see that the patterns that have woven themselves into your life happen to sync up with the stories we tell each other.
And you can break free of them, if you so choose.

Being a bio-electrokinetic, one side of his powers means that Charge can encourage growth in flowers and plant life with a light, electrical charge.
When he and Silver run across a field that has been torn up and destroyed by Eggman’s robots, the hedgehog is understandably upset since it was once a very pretty field.
Charge can still sense life below the surface, and in the hopes of cheering up his friend, he extends his power to help some of those struggling seedlings grow and bloom, until a full patch of flowers and grass has been restored.
“See? There’s always hope. Even in places ravaged by war and destruction, life will always find a way to grow anew and flourish.”

I personally like to imagine that Starline has a specialty tailor and stylist that he goes to to fix his outfits and buy new ones from.
Ain’t no way this fancy boy is buying his clothes from the Sonic world’s equivalent of a Target and calling it a day.

I’m probably going to take a break from lore crafting and draw some random Sonic / OC art for a little while.
The new Starpoint AU story isn’t coming to me anywhere near as easily as the first one did, so I need to step back and give it a long rest. Hopefully it’ll solve itself when I come back to it. :)
