𝓢𝓽𝓸𝓹 𝓐𝓼𝓲𝓪𝓷 𝓗𝓪𝓽𝓮 "Karthick Ramakrishnan, founder and director of demographic data and policy research nonprofit AAPI Data, told NBC Asian America that while the uptick cannot be entirely attributed to the Trump administration’s incendiary, racist rhetoric about the coronavirus, he believes former President Donald Trump’s wielding of the fact that the virus originated in China and repeated elevation of the 'China virus' rhetoric did play a part in fostering hate. 'What Trump did is that he weaponized it in a way,” Ramakrishnan said. “Trump's rhetoric helps set a certain narrative in place — and presidents have an outsized role in terms of shaping narrative. They don't call it a bully pulpit for nothing, and especially Trump, the way he frequently used Twitter as well as press conferences and off-the-cuff remarks to campaign rallies to frame the narrative in a particular way, it likely played a role.' Ramakrishnan explained that research on Trump’s use of racist language in reference to other groups shows that his language did have a profound impact on how people behave toward marginalized groups." UPDATE: I shared this post this morning and signed the quote as Mr. Willoughby when his real name is Yi Tien Cho. It just dawned on me that I used his colonized name instead of his Chinese name. I know he's just a character on a TV series, but with all of the violence being reported in the Asian community, it was tone-deaf of me to use Mr. Willoughby. I apologize. Representation matters. I've been rewatching Outlander. This time with my husband and he's hooked! We were watching the season 3 episode where Mr. Willoughby had to share his story to avoid a mutiny on the ship and this line stuck out to me. We don't know what will become of our lives, but what connects us now is our stories. It's a scary thing, but one that brings us closer to those we trust. Maybe you want to start a blog or maybe you just need to tell a friend about the impactul parts of your life. Either way, your friend and the world will be more whole knowing you and your stories. . . . . . . #outlander #outlanderobsessed #outlanderquotes #shareyourstory #story #storytelling #storytime #shareyourstories #write #blogger #blogging #bloggersofinstagram #creator #contentcreator https://www.instagram.com/p/CLhdf7_nb7G/?igshid=q7q3co2sfvga

Things We Were Taught About Purity Culture: I asked again and you did not disappoint, thank you! To my guy friends, girl friends, and non-binary friends: I'm sorry you were ever told these ridiculous things. I'm sorry you were told that your innocent body was the cause of someone else's actions. I'm sorry you were shamed for thinking and wanting sex and intimacy. I'm sorry you were shamed after having sex. I'm sorry you were shamed out of masturbation. I'm sorry you were abused by purity culture. I'm sorry "a loser in a button up" condemned you to hell for your sexuality. I wish I could take all of our pain and trauma away. Just know your body is beautiful. Your desires of healthy intimacy are beautiful. Your sexuality is beautiful. You are beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Love, Your thick sis ❤ If this post resonated with you, please share and save! It helps spread awareness and gets more eyes of my work ❤ Thank you all for being here ❤ . . . . . . #purityculturerehab #purityculture #purityculturesurvivor #purityculturedropout #purityistoxic #puritycultureisrapeculture #puritycultureistoxic #puritycultureisdangerous #religioustrauma #religioustraumasurvivor https://www.instagram.com/p/CLUuLqcnAfV/?igshid=i98sxjrws57e

1 Sweater: 4 Looks I haven't talked much about sustainable fashion on my page much yet, but I plan to! Here's my first post on the topic 😊 It's such a big part of my life. A few years ago, I watched the documentary The True Cost about the fast fashion industry and have never looked back. In my heart, I couldn't consciously contribute to an industry that was abusing (and killing) underprivileged workers. I have purchased 95% of my clothing secondhand every since. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect. I know we all have things we can reconcile and others we cannot. For example, I still shop on Amazon. Not as often, but I do. Friends of mine have since given up Amazon, but occasionally shop fast fashion. We're all just doing the best we can. In that regard, if you're passionate about sustainable fashion like I am, I'm here to teach you that you can work with what's already in your closet! I've had this pretty powder blue sweater since Fall and have only worn it once 😭 This reel challenged me to create new outfits and stretch my current wardrobe. Of course, I had to try socks with heels which I've never done before Sunday and I'm wondering why it took me so long lol If you enjoyed this reel and want to see more like it, leave a ❤ in the comments! . . . . . . #plussizewoman #plussizequeen #plussizetips #plussizemodeling #plussizebeauty #plussizeisbeautiful #fitplussize #thickthighssaveslives #thickfitchick #reusable #reuserecycle #reusefashion #reusedmaterials #creativreuse  #sustainablefashion #sustainability #sustainableliving #sustainable #stretchyourwardrobe #capsulewardrobe https://www.instagram.com/reel/CLHql9-HpcL/?igshid=yug9xu3ek68w

Things To Stop Saying To People Who Don't Want Children: I asked you folks to give me your answers and you CAME THROUGH, thank you! It’s safe to say, these answers are far too common and they need to stop. Someone's reasoning for not wanting children is no one else's business. To say things like "you'll change your mind" is to presume that everyone CAN change their minds. Some people will never be physically able to have children. To say "it's different when they're yours" is to disregard very serious mental health disorders. Don't tell someone who's depression prohibits them from even getting out of bed, showering, or eating, that they should have a child or need a child to feel better. You're not only disregarding the welfare of the person, but the welfare of an innocent child. We aren't selfish. We've thought long and hard about our decisions. Be kinder to people. There is nothing wrong with you if you don't want children. You are whole just as you are 🧡 Were there any that I missed? Comment them below! If this resonates with you, please share to stories. It would really help me! . . . . . #peoplewhodontwantchildren #everypersoniswholeontheirown #dontbeableist #idontwantchildren #checkyourprivilege #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #letwomenbe #intersectionalfeminism #intersectionality #intersectionalfeminist #postoftheday https://www.instagram.com/p/CKzDPIxnWkU/?igshid=1qk8qkaw2zh8g
