If you had to pick, what's the ONE trait in a fictional character that makes you immediately go "oh this one's mine"
#wearing a mask#figurative literal I don’t care I like when characters hide themselves#especially when the mask starts to crack a little#let’s them peek through#or somebody helps them take it off a little at a time#or they’ve been wearing the mask so long they’ve become someone new and to go back would be a denial of their new true self#of course this has nothing to do with my own years and years of heavy masking haha why would you even ask???

Yeah yeah, “I want a vampire to bite me” this, “Vampires are so hot” that, but could you ever make the ultimate sacrifice for love? Could you give up garlic?
#my sister is allergic to garlic and I’m the cook so I have already sacrificed garlic for love#honestly I don’t even miss it and now think most restaurants use way too much#unfortunately I also really incredibly would never want to be a vampire for other reasons#namely that living forever sounds like a nightmare and being stuck with one person forever even more of a nightmare#I’d let a vampire turn me for the bit and then be like ‘wait so you actually meant forever? really??’#and then I’d dump their ass and flee but the world is honestly pretty small and forever is a long time#we’d be bound to run into each other and they’d probably feel kind of awkward and maybe like a little angry#also the idea of drinking blood to survive and potentially hurting people would make me sad#overall just a bad time for everyone#might finally give me time to write though

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.
- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.
- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.
- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.
That's love. 🐈⬛🐈❤️
#every time I get a migraine#which is unfortunately often#dog immediately comes over to curl up with me#sometimes she even seems to know before I do#and she’s much gentler with me than she is with my parents or sister for some reason

Geological horror. You find a geode and crack it open and the crystal lining its walls is human blood that can't be genetically matched to anyone. You find a human skeleton but every one of the bones is made from rock, a rock that you know can't be whittled into those shapes. You find layers of clay and loam that sport ancient fossils at the top and the still-rotting corpses of modern animals at the bottom.

less “always reblog the suicide hotline!“ more sharing information on what happens if you do actually call one of these lines (i.e. will they send the cops to your house), more teaching individuals and communities how to help someone in crisis without involving police or hospitalization, more open discussions of how to share what we feel and make others feel seen, understood, and supported when it comes to extremely difficult feelings and situations
