Its been over a year and I don't think my feelings about Hades 2 being Supergiant's next game has changed. I'm still immensely disappointed.

I despised Start Up, so the fact I'm watching Castaway Diva is weird. The writer really likes to write unlikeable male leads I guess. But the question is, does she actually know who the unlikeable one is in this show? Because she apparently didn't when writing Start Up. lol

Now that Dead Reckoning is coming out on home media and presumably streaming in less than a month, I'm just gonna say what I've wanted to say since it released.

I adore Ilsa. Always have. Her death was a worthy one. I'm tired of when every single time a character dies, people just say "they deserved better" as if that's some sort of legitimate criticism. It especially happens when a female character dies. Modern fandom doesn't know how to take a fictional death anymore and it's just annoying. She died trying to save someone and the world. A heroic death. Exactly how I expect any of these characters to die.

And I'm also tired of people acting like Grace was written to be a replacement. She clearly wasn't. They're entirely different characters.

Seriously, some of the complaints I've seen are completely bone headed.

Love at First Sight is just more evidence that Haley Lu Richardson has incredibly soulful eyes.

The editing in this Zoey 102 movie is terrible. Really makes it feel like there are entire parts of scenes missing.

MI Dead Reckoning Part 1 is excellent, as expected. Too bad the fandom is gonna be a dumpster fire for a while because of THAT moment. Which I personally thought was done pretty well. But whatever.

Though I understand this perspective, I also think there’s a lot underneath Ethan’s development that we tend to ignore. And MI2 probably wouldn’t make any sense if it was placed anywhere else in the canon. Mostly because, Ethan being the confident lone wolf alpha type is understandable when you consider he lost his entire team in the first movie. Now perhaps this wasn’t intended by the creative team behind MI2(though it could be), but the impact of his team dying around him manifests itself within him even now. It changed him forever. And I think there’s room for him to be the kind of man he is in MI2. It didn’t last forever because it shouldn’t, but think of it more like a phase in his life. We can respond to the events in our lives in many ways. Perhaps Ethan’s way of coping was to try become a James Bond type, to give himself more distance from people. He’s certainly more distant in MI2. I mean, the film opens with him by himself doing a dangerous stunt just because he can, not because he needs to. I don’t consider that to be a very Ethan thing either, but the idea that he can’t have a phase like this over the course of his life is incorrect I think.

The point is: MI2 is so ooc when it comes to Ethan, women and sex

Ethan doesn’t has sex with random women. In mi1 Ethan is shy mess around his bosses wife. In mi3 he has sex ONCE with his wife, during their wedding night and it is cut really short. After that he has one kiss, in three movie (not counting the white widow kissing him without consent)

I DO understand why they went that road in mi2. After the shy mess Ethan was in MI1 they wanted to show him being more like James Bond, a man, all grown up, sure about his sexuality, lucky with the ladies

But that’s not Ethan. Ethan is a shy mess around women and that’s okay. It’s okay to have An action hero who is a shy mess around women.

And I am so lucky MCQ realized that and gave us him and Ilsa

There’s nothing that prohibits you two from being together anymore.

CALL IT LOVE (2023) - Finale

Call it Love just referenced Before Sunrise. This is an S tier show now. It took 16 episodes but better late than never.

Feeling disposable and lonely is the default emotional state of men. I guess it’s part of what drives us to be successful. But what’s insane is we can never quite shake that default state. Society is really good at keeping the status quo.

Something about a melancholic Korean drama just hits different. We just don’t get these types of shows in America tbh. Our dramas tend to be either too edgy or super depressing. Korean dramas know how to do melancholy really well without going to extremes.
