The Fallacy of Biracial Voice Erasure
I find it very strange how some bi-racial persons with black parentage try to make it seem that black people are spearheading a concept I’ll like to refer to as “Biracial Voice Erasure.”
We understand the issue you may face regarding the establishment of self-concept but you not having the opportunity to experience self-actualization does not equate to the daily black experience and therefore cannot be compared.
This is not to say that bi-racial voices should be silenced. However, these conversations regarding the bi-racial experience should be had separate and apart from conversation regarding the plights of being a darkskin black person existing in a society where racism isn’t sticking out in your face but is hiding between the lines.
*This is not to say that bi-racial persons cannot experience racism either.*

It's so hard being a feminist in a household where the word has a negative connotation. Because, somehow, all of the world's issues are due to women wanting equity and equality.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!!!!
Thank you to all the women who toil everyday whether in the home or at work. Even though your work may go unnoticed, we acknowledge you today.

Can We STOP Watering Down Feminism/Womanism For the Likes of Misogynists?
Whenever feminism is being attacked by misogynists online, I see women stating “all we want is equality”, but is that entirely true? The essence of feminism is not just to achieve equality with our male counterparts economically. It is about breaking down all the barriers that all kinds of women may face. Racism, transphobia and etc.
Also, if males are upset about the mission and vision of the movement, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If they no longer have a leverage over us, then their traditional roles in our patriarchal society will be compromised. If a society that would usually be in their favour removed all the systemic pressure placed on marginalized groups, then they would, of course, try to demonize the movement.
Just a food for thought 💭

white feminist: “we need to break down barriers for men as well because they’re not allowed to show their emotions. Women are always allowed to show emotions!”
me: *looks at Black women being called too angry for expressing their emotions*
me: *looks at Latina women and Asian women being called hysterical for expressing their emotions*
me: *looks at all WOC being dismissed when they express our emotions because someone will always tell us that we’re exaggerating, and that we just have to keep quiet when something is bothering us*
white feminist: “women are alllllways allowed to show their emotions :) “

What’s wrong with White Feminism?
When I truly started becoming interested in the feminist movement, I noticed that women like the American suffragettes (especially Alice Paul) were being praised for their “groundbreaking”achievements.
However, there are things in the shadows that people rarely want to put to light about this movement. Through deep research, I found that there were black women who were interested in becoming apart of the National American Women Suffrage Association but were turned down.
Alice Paul, when planning the march, only imagined as rally filled with white women. In essence, the NAWSA gained voting rights for white women at the expense of the black ones.
How Can We Escape White Feminism’s Grip on the Movement?
A black civil rights advocate, KimberlĂŠ Crenshaw, encourages women to partake in intersectionality. This means that within feminism we acknowledge the different factors that keeps a marginalized group, well, marginalized. For instance, white women only face gender inequality, while women of colour have to deal with racism and sexism and queer and trans women have to deal homophobia and transphobia along with sexism.
In order to free ourselves from the bondage of white feminism, we as feminists should acknowledge these differences within the movement so that we can tackle each marginalized group’s issue.
