Fanfic tiktok is wild... I see so many people saying shit like "I could never read anything below 60k!!", or "What story can you even tell in under 5k words?" or "A oneshot below 10k isn't even a story!" or "I always filter completed fics by 100k< only!"
And I'm like...
A) which fandoms are you reading fics for where you have this kind of offerings on the regular?
B) have you heard of short stories? If you truly think every story NEEDS to be longform to connect with people, I sincerely feel sorry for you.
C) Average novel length is between 50k to 100k. I'm sorry, but CONSISTENTLY demanding fic writers to push out fics of that length is insane. Just think about it: YOU DEMAND AUTHORS TO PUT OUT FICS THAT COMPARE TO COMMERCIAL NOVELS IN LENGTH (AND QUALITY) AS A BASELINE.

“The two sides of fandom discourse are too extreme! Both harass each other!”
Ok, it's true that harassment happens on both sides and regardless if it's proshippers or antis doing it, bullying and name calling is always unjustified (especially when the block button is right there). However, can you sit down and tell me just what exactly are the two extremes to you?
Because on one hand we have “let people ship what they want in peace, even if I personally dislike some pairings” and on the other there's “kys if you ship something I dislike. You're a pedo if you disagree”.
Please do tell me how the former is half as "extreme" as the latter. No really, how are they equal, because to me it sounds like one is way more brash and prone to harassment as their base ideology than the other. Just a thought tho.
Also, I assume that by "harassment" we're talking about witch hunting, sending insults, death threats and other kinds of harmful language. Correcting an anti who crossposted and used a wrong definition of proship to base their argument on isn't harassment. It's called having a discussion, something that will definitely happen if you spread misinformation in proship circles.

This took awhile longer because ..oh boy.
G2 Lily is gonna be renamed to Giggle Lily or something because I could not figure out how to add the seesaw cutie mark to the flutterpony. g1 lily has such a big cutie mark and its just messy if i tried. So Flutterqueen Lily is g1 and g4 lily. Flutterponies are close relatives to the Changelings but also life in a Symbiosis with them. Changelings like herding Flutterponies to feed on their love and happiness and therefore protect them from danger so they don't have a food shortage. Flutterponies love sharing their love and tend to see the Changelings as protectors but are capable of defending themselves by creating strong winds.
the weird blindbag alicorn that has no name and no card nothing its been in one of these potion blindbags. I decided to make her the leader of the alien Starlike ponies we saw in Mlp tales. She herself is a constallation like the Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Decided the alien ponies are called the Aurora Ponies (like the G5 ones).
and lastly Princess Gold lily I tried many things but in the end she became the Breezie Queen.

If you do decide to add the witches into the au, I think a fun idea could be that humans can learn magic without going insane, but if a human uses to much magic they could be controlled by dark magic (like the rainbow of darkness, pony of shadows, nightmare moon, or sombra's dark magic. Heck, maybe the rainbow of light was created to counter that)
I actually kinda wanna seperate Hydia with her daughters. they have a falling out Reeka and Draggle instead are in a magic club of Witches with Trixie.
Hydia ,Reeka and Draggle also are not from Equestria as humans will no longer be native to ponyland. Instead their like Megan,Molly and Danny actually from earth but like generations ago. like a small human colony that didn't last long and their the last ones left sorta deal.
Yeah dark magic still corrupts like magic that is intended to only hurt.

Opaline is now a Kirin. Since the whole alicorn of fire and being powered by Dragonfire....
G1 Twilight just Twilight is a mix between her G1 unicorn self and the G1 so soft pegasus and now Luna and Twilight Sparkles Daughter and a batpony. I actuallu really like her shes soo cute
the name Twilight just runs in the family since Twilights Sparkle's mother is Twilight Velvet.
My take on the Princess Sterling alicorn from the g4 toyline.
Shes now Cadence's mom and sorta has a similar role to Princess Amore that she is the previous Queen of the Empire. However since i mentioned the Crystalisation progress her Crystalisation went off completly and she dissapeared only to return as an Umbrum.
also speaking of the Crystal empire the Jewel desert leads into the caves where the Crystal empire is.
the gems are also in the cavesystems and in the crystal empire.
the crystal heart slows the progress of crystalisation down. but when a crystal pony is old or is lured far away into places where the crystal heart's light doesn't reach they crystalises fully and burst open to reveal their new Umbrum forms

Crystal Empire Kingdom. I am moving the Crystal Empire underground. ( I made Skyla and Flurry Heart twins).
Tic tac toe cutiemark symbolises being a good Strategist
I also bring back this origin:
basically the way I want to handle this is make the Jewel Wizard not human but make him maybe a pony or having to do with Sombra's origin but long ago ponies were brought underground to mine gems. said gems will be magical when the throne or we can rewrite it to the crystal heart shattering causing every crystal pony to have gem eyes because it launched itself into their eyes...the gems being magical started crystalising part of their body and long exposure to the underground gems and crystals causes ponies to crystalise.
Crystalisation affects hooves, cutie marks, ears, wings and horns.
also i really really wanna involve the Umbrum from the mlp g4 comics both are so amazingly dark and i love cutsy stuff that is actually scary. Maybe the Jewel Wizard was one of these in disguise or he created them. These needs to be brainstormed
Im really leaning on the Jewel Wizard being the King of the Umbrum and wanting control back of the crystal ponies to harvest more crystals maybe the crystals are a food source ?
My boyfriend brought up a good idea that the Umbrum could be ghosts/ sprites of ponies that have been fully crystallized like the infection Au's going around. Like swampfever its another infection that instead of turning you into a tree it turns you into crystals. And the crystal splitter open eventually and said crystal ponies become Umbrum.
