ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Erika - A thriller Author: Mansi Narula Kashyap Genre: Psychological thriller, fiction My Rating: 3.7/5 In association with Kharidobecho.in (@kharidobechobooks) Chcek @kharidobechobooks for affordable book deals. In this story, we follow Erika, who has called the police in her home to arrest her, for the crime of murdering her husband in an attempt to self defense. The police comes and takes her, only to drop her at an asylum. To get to know why, you have to delve inside the story of Erika. The story started off great. The murder setup was nicely done. The motive to murder was there, along with some weird suspicious elements. However, in my opinion, the character buildup should've been stronger. Some of the side characters were strong, but in the end they won't make sense at all. As well as the abrupt ending. It seemed misleading. The representation of the psychology of Erika could've been portrayed better. Despite all of these, it was a good short read. It's a tiny story and you can finish it off in a day. I will suggest this book to beginners who want to try the feel of thrillers in a short span of time. Qotd: do you like psychological thrillers, or delving into other peoples' minds? Aotd: well I certainly do. People observing used to be one of my favorite pasttimes in my childhood, and I absolutely love reading about twisted psychology. #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #readabook #readmore #bookstagrammers #becauseofreading #ireadya #newbooks #bookworms #bookshelves #booktube https://www.instagram.com/p/CexmVtwLibL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

"No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!" - C. JoyBell C. If anything describes my life right now, it is this quote. I know I have neglected you during my apartment shifting craziness, but you being my family will never cease to support me. I know this because I would have done the same for you. So thank you, for being with me when I was not able to check your posts, engage with your hard work in Bookstagram; and making it possible to cross 4k. You know what was the most amazing part of the entire house hunting and shifting? I got myself a new study room and got to rearrange my bookshelf. It was so fulfilling... Now please keep on tagging me to your beautiful posts, and poke me if I forget to check up on your posts. I don't mind it at all, rather your creativity amazes me. I hope to post as regularly as possible from now on, but you know, life happens.... Enough of my mindless ranting, tell me, what was your last 5 star read? And what are you reading now... I am reading The betrayal of Anne Frank, and absolutely loving it. #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #thevintagebengal https://www.instagram.com/p/CedunDOLfmo/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Autopsy Author: Patricia Cornwell Genre: Crime thriller, fiction My Rating: 3.0 /5 Hello my dearest booksta fam, how are you doing? I have been able to finish this book finally. If you had followed my stories, you know I had been struggling with it for quite so long, and finally we are here, on review day. So this book is part of the ongoing Kay Scarpetta series, and it is the 25th book. This was my first time reading a Patricia Cornwell novel, as well as a Kay Scarpetta one. In this book, an unidentified body turns up on the Virginia railway tracks, and Kay is the Autopsy surgeon for the same. While this was going on, three more rounds of murders come up, and the confusion begins of whether a serial killer is at loose or not. The book started off nicely, with all the murders, crimes and suspicions. I loved the word building, the character buildup and the intruding start of the plot. But it felt to me that the book was more on Kay Scarpetta and her life than about the crimes. There were many loose ends in the entire story, and the abrupt ending did not satisfy my soul at all. The character buildup was really nice, but some of the characters failed to prove their purpose. In the end, the book that started off as a nice kick to my brain ended up with a strong kick to my guts. I am happy that I did not dnf it and read it all so that I don't provide a miscalculated judgement on the book. If you are a fan of word play and character buildup, you can go for this one. Thank you team @harpercollinsin for sending me this book in exchange of my honest opinion. That is all for today. What are you currently reading? I have finished The girl who fell beneath the sea in a day, and starting A man called OVE now. 🏷: #april #spring #2022 #igreads #weekendvibes #weekend #bookfriends #springtbr #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookstagrammer #reading #bookish #bookaddict #booknerd #bibliophile #instabook #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #bookaholic #booksbooksbooks #bookclubs #bookcommunity #bookblogger #bookreview #booklovers #bookishfriendsunite https://www.instagram.com/p/Ccfws6bPwjg/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Faith and the beloved Author: Kochery C Shibu Genre: Crime thriller My Rating: 4.8/5 Hello my lovely family, how is today going so far? I have survived another Monday, and what better way to end this evening than posting another book review! So here I am! I recently received this book from @authorshibu, and thought of reading a chapter or two on the first day. What a joke! My braincells exploded on the first chapter, and I simply could not stop, could not put down the blood chilling crime thriller for the love of my life. Where should I start!? The book talks about stolen diamonds, involvment with ISIS and LTTE, rape and murders. So if something is a trigger for you, please avoid reading it. Else, this book is a treat! The nitty gritty details about the inside works of a criminal organisation was put together so perfectly, that it blends quite well with the overall story. The book is written in multiple POVs, and despite that never moves off track. If you are somebody who loves to read about crime thrillers rather than doing them, do try to squeeze this one in your tbr. I am sure you will love this. That's it for today. What is the one crime thriller you read that you want me to read too? ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Woman Author: Vamsi Krishna Genre: Fiction My Rating: 3.8/5 Hello people, hope you are free from the Monday blues by now? I usually get my Monday blue in the Sunday evening. By the time it's Monday morning, I am like, eh whatever, let's get this over with 🤣 I received this book by the author on such a Monday. This must have been the shortest read of my entire life. It had 2 stories, and hardly took 5 minutes of my life to finish it. The stories are to frame the struggle of being a woman and being harassed almost every day on a regular basis. It is surely an eye opener if nothing else. In spite of being short, the stories leave a mark after you are done reading them, and who doesn't like stories like that? So that's all for today, I will be back with another review soon. I had my 31st birthday yesterday. I know I might be a lot older than most of you, but tbh, friendship doesn't have any age limit. To talk about age, Ruskin Bond is such an author, who has stories for each and every age. Don't you agree? @harpercollinsin and @afterschooltales team has been very kind to send me this book by my all time favourite author. It's a very small book, but it contains some absolute treasure for the aspiring writers. I literally gulped down this book. It is so good. If you are a competitive person, or at least want to be at a better place than yesterday, this book is for you. ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Shape of Memories Author: Kristofor Hellmeister Genre: Science Fiction My Rating: 4.2/ 5 Thank you @hellmeisterkristofor for the review copy, and for being so so patient with me while I took my time to read and review it. You are the nicest. ❤ Tyler Grisham is on his way to discovering lives on unknown planets. On his journey, he and his team gets trapped into the debris field of such a planet, and their vessels explode on that planet. Although there seems to be no life in there, there is something else. Something, that can take the shape of your memories. They can be happy ones, or depressing ones, depending upon the memory. This one turned out to be unexpectedly good. I enjoyed reading the endless counter with Tyler and his memories. The author captured Tyler's nature vividly. I did not always like Tyler's point of view of life, he seemed extremely dominating in his married life, and easily getting distracted to the sensuality of the females around him, but to the author's credit, the story did not become cringy at any point. The survival game stayed the bigger part of the story. What is your favourite Sci fi novel? And what are you reading now? Tell me so that I can take recommendations from you all. ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Ashwatthama VS Parshuram - The immortal force Author: Gunjan Porwal Genre: Mythological thriller, fiction, science fiction My Rating: 4.7/5 In association with Kharidobecho.in (@kharidobechobooks) Chcek @kharidobechobooks for affordable book deals. This book talks about the current situation in the immortal lives of Ashwatthama, Parshuram, Vyas, Markandeya, Bibhishan, Kripachariya and Bali. The unburnt diaries including the unfinished scientific projects of Hitler's right hand man Kremler quickly resurfaces and brings about some unwanted drama and storm in the lives of these men. What I loved about this book is the genious flow of words between the multi timelines. The author did a thorough research on quantum physics and it definitely shows in the writing. The scientific concepts are quite relatable without making the book textbook material. It was actually quite fun reading through this one. The concept of time travel, morphed with Mythology - and some well deserved marvel comics bit made the book a masterpiece. I will definitely recommend this to everyone. Qotd: what do you do when you have book hangover? Aotd: I need to take a break allowing myself to swim in emotions before starting off with another one. #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #readabook #readmore #bookstagrammers #becauseofreading #ireadya #newbooks #bookworms #bookshelves #booktube https://www.instagram.com/p/CacQj1Vv3is/?utm_medium=tumblr

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ The Judge's List Author: John Grisham Genre: Thriller, Legal Thriller My Rating: 4/5 Thank you @hachette_india for sending this book to me. John Grisham is a brilliant storyteller, and this book was no exception. Here we follow Lucy from BJC, whose work is to check on any complaints filed about any judge. One day, a woman calls her mysteriously, and gives her enough proof to understand that one of the sitting Judge, elected by the people, is murdering people over a span of 23 years! Lucy is skeptical at first about taking the case, but eventually gives in when a fresh couple of murders with the same pattern emerges. I loved the straightforward way this tale was staged. It gets straight to the point, without wasting much time and energy, and that was refreshing. However, I felt the story to be quite a predictable one. There was almost nothing to guess. Nevertheless, the flaw of the story keeps you going. It is a very beautifully written slow burn. In my opinion, this is a perfect beginner friendly thriller. #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #readabook #readmore #bookstagrammers #becauseofreading #ireadya #newbooks #bookworms #bookshelves #booktube https://www.instagram.com/p/CaHvnOkP9il/?utm_medium=tumblr

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Emotional Paralysis Author: vandana Genre: Poems, Contemporary My Rating: 4.2/5 Thank you @_pileofbooks for sending a copy of your book to me. I met Vandana through bookstagram, and fell in love with the way her mind works. This lady can play with words and weave poems out of thin air for the issues that are otherwise hard to talk about. So when I heard she published her own book, I was beyound excited to read it. This is a short read, separated by 3 parts, but all the poems will leave strong impact on your soul. The poems talk about the journey of a woman, her despair, her troubles, and societal absurdities. By the time I finished reading, I was again in awe of her writing. I specially loved the part three of the book. If you want to explore poetry, you can go ahead and read this one. ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Mira - secrets, masks, games and a marriage Author: Nisha Harbola Genre: Contemporary, fiction My Rating: 4.5/5 Thank you @nishaharbola for sending a copy of your book to me. Mira is a self sufficient, confident woman who makes big name for herself going against the orthodox believes of her maternal family. She falls in love with an artist Kabir, and they get married. But like most marriages, theirs also is challenged with lots of troubles, lies, third person's jealousy and whatnot. This is the story of her life, which shows us that beyound every storm, there is a beautiful sunshine lurking away. I loved the story. The chapters were short and easy to follow, and the writing style was immaculate. Many complicated subjects like single parenting, adoption, adultery and homosexuality was handled quite nicely. This is a book that any level of readers can read and they won't feel bored or overwhelmed. But because of the presence of some triggers, I will say it's better for the matured minded readers. What is the book you are reading currently? ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ When it hurts to say I LOVE YOU Author: Aadesh D. Verma Genre: Romance, philosophy My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ In association with Kharidobecho.in (@kharidobechobooks ) Chcek @kharidobechobooks for affordable book deals. The book starts with the courageous good deeds done by the hero Vian. He helps an innocent man avoid life sentence. Vian is portrayed as a ruthless would be president of Corporate world, but a sentimental fellow in his real life who loves art and has been devalued by his parents in his early life. The heroine of the story is Trisha, who is also the sole responsible member of her family, but always misunderstood by them. She is also a lover of art, and these two people are brought closer by Dada and GS - their common acquaintances. In no time, Trisha and Vian become friends and then lovers. But due to the inevitable ups and downs of life, they break up. Do they reconcile? Do they not? That is to be seen in the story. Now my views about the story... hmm... well as it is well stated many times before also, I am neither a romantic person myself, nor I like romance genre much. But, there is a warm vibe in the story and call it a Christmas miracle, but I liked that. The characters are well defined, even the side characters. Also, the story was seamlessly flowed. However, in my point of view, the story could've been finished in half the pages, some of the philosophical statements about twin flames or soulmates were repetitive, and sometimes, it was enough cheesy to give competition to an extra cheese dominos pizza. But like i said, despite these gaps, I liked the vibe well enough to finish the book. What about you? Do you like to read cheesy romance? Or are you as twisted in your head as me where some murders or mysteries are always welcome in a story!? #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #readabook #readmore #bookstagrammers #becauseofreading #ireadya #newbooks #bookworms #bookshelves #booktube https://www.instagram.com/p/CY3UjhyLjwB/?utm_medium=tumblr

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ Dream or Danger - The phoenix's tale Author: Nihan Kale Genre: Fantasy, Science Fiction My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you @niha.n_07 for sending a copy of this book to me. The story started with Alex going out with his parents to enjoy a day when suddenly, zorgs (alien beings) attack Earth and everything falls apart. He loses his parents and along with his friends, start the journey to rescue Earth from the evil clutches of the Zorgs. This is the outcome of an imaginative mind of a 12 year old. The book is quite well written, the choice of words are impeccable. It is action packed, and full of entertainment. I was so awed by the creative young mind, that some repetitive actions portrayed in the story did not matter to me at all. I specially liked the cliff hanger where the story ended, and will look forward to the next book of the series. #booklover #bookstagram #bookcommunity #booksofinstagram #readingtime #ilovebooks #bookblogger #bookblog #booknerdigans #bookobsessed #bookishfeatures #bookphotography #yalit #yabooks #currentlyreading #igreads #instaread #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragon #readabook #readmore #bookstagrammers #becauseofreading #ireadya #newbooks #bookworms #bookshelves #booktube https://www.instagram.com/p/CYV8pLbr8EU/?utm_medium=tumblr

ⒷⓄⓄⓀ ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ The House of Gucci Author: Sara Gay Forden Genre: True crime, Biography My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you @harpercollinsin for sending a copy of this masterpiece to me. This is the true story of Florence's Gucci family, who built the famous brand Gucci more than a century ago. After climbing the rocky hills of ambition, pride, ego, mistrust, miscommunication, betrayal, love, passion, crime, murder and bankruptcy, Gucci became what it is now. The story started with the murder scene of Maurizio Gucci, who was the last person from Gucci family to own the company. The book revolves around the mind blowing and interesting story of the ups and downs of the family, their life, the company and their fate. When I started the book, I did not realize it's going to grasp me so completely. The author has intricately woven intense facts with simple wordplay. It was almost like magic to read this.
