There are many people out there with a misunderstanding of what feminism is. Radical behavior or the notion of being “anti-men” are associations frequently evoked when “feminism” is brought up. This video not only provides a fresh, much needed perspective on the topic, but it truly represents what feminism is all about: the combined efforts of men and women striving for equality. As one of men in the video brilliantly puts it: “We talk about sexism as if it’s a women’s problem. It’s women’s problem to deal with, but it’s mens problem. Sexism is men’s problem. That’s the thing about privileged groups, you have to make a decision that I will revoke my own privilege, and that’s a big step to ask. The truth is, it’s the privileged group that needs to do the work.”

Paper Fashion Paintings

New York City-based artist, Katie Rodgers, is the woman behind “Paper Fashion.” Her stunning and innovative art tells stories and sends important messages primarily focused on women, acceptance, and unity. To commemorate the arrival of 2017, she  created a series of painting titled “#WomenOfTheWorld,” which puts a spotlight on women from cultures all around the world. “ As we enter a new year let us all take the time to appreciate the cultures and differences that make the world beautiful,” she shares––ultimately hoping to inspire compassion, love, and empower women (and men) around the globe.
