the problem with children is that theyre very excited to hear about monsters and death and so on but at one point they stop being excited and start getting scared and you gotta be good in spotting the exact moment before this happens to start backtracking everything. yes yes vampires are real and drink people's blood but no they don't live here and they cannot come here because uuuuh they cant travel outside the place they died in. it's vampire science. yes i studied it.

Fact: The earliest reliably dated use of the phrase “fucked up” appears in the court records of a US Navy court-martial case from 1863; the way the phrase is used suggests that its meaning was already well known at the time, but this is the first known printed record of it that we can confidently put a date to.
Additional fact: Bram Stoker’s Dracula is set in 1897.
Conclusion: It would not anachronistic for your Dracula fanfic to have a character describe the Count as a fucked up old man.

GUYS DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE. Y'all can also request this. Leave comments on Tumblr's Twitter and Instagram or submit a feedback ticket in support!
Here's my feedback text:
Could a "Sort from oldest" feature on the search page be added? So I can experience any tag page from the beginning. Basically add a "Chrono" filter to search, like the one used to search blogs.
Tumblr has always been praised for being an archive and I believe this feature will highlight that aspect of the Tumblr experience.
And also, if possible, properly remove the infinite scroll on the search page so I can continue from where I left, like it can be done on the dashboard.
PETITION FOR TUMBLR STAFF.
Add a "Sort from oldest" feature on the search page so I can experience the dracula daily tag from the beginning.

I hope, now that it is all over, that Jonathan is able to go back to the village and thank the woman who gave him the crucifix. If you think about it, it was that action which ultimately enabled the count to be defeated. Without Jonathan making it out alive and able to provide the crucial information about who Dracula was and where he came from, I doubt Van Helsing et al would have been able to track him down. Considering how many generations of the locals Dracula had oppressed and terrorized, I am very glad that one of them was able to have a role in his downfall.

Chasing down and opening Dracula's last dirt box after the long shipping delay really is the greatest and most dramatic unboxing video in history, so happy the team finally got their package 🥲📦🎉

I think it's interesting to note that through the course of the entire novel, the only characters out of the main cast to directly interact with Dracula are Jonathan and Mina (Renfield too, but I'm not sure how much he can be considered 'main cast'). All the other characters either only saw him from a distance, got a glimpse of him before he vanished, or merely felt his pressence. Even Van Helsing, who is widely regarded as Dracula's arch nemesis in pop culture, only saw him in person once in the actual story. I think this goes to show that this is really the Harkers' story. They are the ones who got up close and personal with the horror. They're the few people who Dracula had intended to kill who actually got away. The ones who survived. In fact, they did more than survive, they brought justice to the monster who had abused them. Because their love is so strong for each other that they were motivated, not because of what Dracula did to each of them personally, but because of what he did to the one each of them loves. Dracula truly is a gothic romance.

Also delighted to see Bran “1000 words on how paprika hendl tastes” Stoker doing an absolute masterclass of a brief yet impactful epilogue
in less than 400 words he showed us that Mina and Jonathan are happy and have a family, think of their fallen friends often, stayed in touch with their remaining friends and that their son has a grandfather-grandchild relationship to Van Helsing, at the same time as he repeated that the story was about doing the right thing without need for witness or reward, simply for the love the characters held, and continue for hold, for each other.
