As of July 1st, 2022, there are three members of the Governing Body of Beauland. These members are:
"His Royal Fuzziness, President-King Theodore Beauland Bearson the Third, Head of the White Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland", a white teddy-bear who wears a black top hat and bowtie. He prefers to be called "Teddy B. Bearson". He enjoys ice cream, snow days, tea parties, and reading history books. As the head of the White Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland, Theodore is the leader of our great nation. He works with the Pink and Blue Branch Heads to carry out and enforce new laws. He is elected by democratic vote, and works to govern our people with fairness and kindness.
"His Royal Softness, Prince Nathaniel Cherubim Igneus-Valentine, Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland", a young human man who embodies our great nation. He enjoys baking, watching cartoons, drawing, and being outside in the rain. As the head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland, he drafts and proposes laws to be decided on by the Heads of the White and Blue Branches. He is also responsible for declaring war, regulating national and foreign commerce, controlling taxes, and drafting spending policies. No project is drafted or decided on without the say of the Head of the Pink Branch! As the body of our great nation, the Head of the Pink Branch carries our nation with him wherever he goes. He can be addressed as Nathan, Nate (for short), Nathaniel (for long), Beauland, or Beau. He is also responsible for the transportation of our President and the Head of the Blue Branch. He sure does a lot for our nation!
"Her Royal Sweetness, Princess Vanillabean Lapinstitch, Head of the Blue Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland", a white rabbit who wears a blue sash and ribbon. She enjoys carrot cupcakes, taking baths, writing poetry, and gardening. As head of the Blue Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland, she is responsible for deciding the constitutionality of federal laws and resolves other disputes about federal laws. She helps to appoint fair judges to trials, who are elected via democratic vote. She takes her job very seriously (even though she hates doing paperwork). When she was sworn into office, she promised to lead with sound mind, fairness, and a love of justice.

The Simplified History of the Nation of Beauland
At one point in time, both England and France ruled over Beauland (then "Beauterrain" to the French colonists and "Bowesworth" to the English), claiming the land at the same time (years 1799 to 1804). Both colonies were formed by people seeking not only religious freedom, but also freedom from the war and political conflicts of both empires. There are influences from both countries in modern Beauland's culture and language (as evident by tea playing a large part in Beauland's culture, and the name "Beauland", which derives from "beau", the French word for "handsome/beautiful"). English settlers would influence Beauland's economy, holidays, and military while French settlers would influence Beauland's architecture, language, and food. However, it is not only the French and English who occupied Beauland during that time.
Despite conflicts between both colonies, the winter of 1800 brought them together. It was a brutal winter, one that the colonists planned to prepare for, but the third boat ("The Oakstern") carrying their supplies was lost at sea. Only by helping each other, and receiving help from the Natives, did most of the colonists survive. They began trading, helping each other hunt, and shared homes to stay warm. They taught each other their languages, aiding in communication. Unlike other colonies, which brutally killed Native populations to take control of the land, the people of Beauterrain and Bowesworth decided it was best to befriend the people they met in the "New Land", and they did their best to learn from their "new neighbours". At first, the Natives were afraid, as they had every right to be, but they found that the newcomers were willing to cooperate with them, especially during the harsh winter months. Today, more than 50% of Beauland's population is of Native descent.
At this time, England fought the French and Spanish in many battles. France, unable to put up much of a fight (even with Spanish help), had little to gain from the Beauterrain colony other than soldiers. France, with no fight, gave control of Beauterrain over to England (1806-1813) per the Treaty of Beauland in 1806. This way, France could focus on other things, such as taxes, the French military, and politics. In that time, the treaty allowed France to "check in" on Beauterrain every once in a while to collect resources such as produce, taxes, and cotton. Despite the occasional visit, the French colonists of Beauterrain felt abandoned by their government.
After Britian took control of the colonies, it tried to introduce slavery to Bowesworth and Beauterrain, but the colonists and Natives weren't having it. Due to their religious beliefs, the colonists found slavery abhorrent, and they told the English that they wouldn't participate in the slave trade. However, English soliders wouldn't allow refusal. Three ships worth of slaves were brought to Beauland to work on farms and in fields. The people of Beauland, who outnumbered loyalists 5 to 1, would overpower slave owners and free the slaves, hiding them until they could be safely relocated. England, realizing it would be easier to just stop trying to force Beauland to adopt slavery than it would be to enforce it, stopped bringing slaves to the Beauland colonies in 1809. It is estimated that approximately 30% of Beauland's population is descended from these freed slaves.
After only another 7 years, France once again gained primary control of Beauland, fighting another war with England for control of both Beauland colonies in 1813, with the help of the colonists themselves. It was decided then that it was France who would gain primary care and control of Beauterrain and Bowesworth while England was to collect taxes from the colony. However, due to mistreatment by England, including high taxes, unwanted military occupation, and abuse by the British Crown (including an artificial famine created by England stealing the colonies' food resources and taking control of their farmland), "Beauland"/"Boweland" declared its own war against England in 1814.
France, knowing the power of the British navy and not wanting to lose its colonies, discouraged this war despite a long-time conflict with England, but Beauland persisted. France withdrew their troops from Beauland, but Beauland fought back with its own army. This army was made entirely of the people who called Beauland their home, including Natives who knew that the French and English empires would stop at nothing to take control of the land even if it meant destroying every Native life. England did nothing at first, only sending in few troops to pacify Beauland, but Beauland was committed to ending its ties with England. The war waged on, with England becoming more aggressive as it continued through 1817. This time in Beauland would become known as "The Three Years War and Famine".
On November 15th, 1817, Beauland finally declared its complete independence from England, cutting off all ties. Every British troop occupying Beauland left, and Beauland stopped paying English taxes. Beauland also cut off all contact with England, refusing to even acknowledge the sovereignty of the British Crown. Beauland crowned its own King-President, Theodore Beauland Bearson the First, on December 25th, 1817, to rule over Beauland and restore the production of crops, cotton, and tea to Beauland's farmers. However, despite crowning their own King-President, Beauland was still controlled by another country. France gained primary control of Beauland from 1817, but became neglectful of the colony. They collected taxes, but, perhaps worried about another rebellion from Beauland, began punishing the colony whenever it "spoke up" demanding fewer taxes, and demanding that France stop forcing them to match French aesthetics of architecture, art, religion, and fashion. After the war with England, Beauland became aware of its own national identity, one separate from both England and France. France would punish Beauland by cutting off communication and trade for weeks, sometimes months, at a time. French loyalist doctors would also refuse to give treatment to Beauland during times of crisis or illness, leading to an uprise in cases of illness, death, riots, and suicide.
In 1819, France left Beauland to fend for itself. France stopped collecting taxes, but also stopped allowing supplies to travel from France to Beauland. All French loyalists returned to their homeland. The colony began generating its own wealth, and the colonists began teaching themselves skills to survive without the aid of French resources, such as hunting, farming, medical aid, and clothing production. They began trading even further with the Natives, and soon, the tribes and colonies began to integrate. It seemed like Beauland was going to truly become independent and self-sustaining, until tragedy struck in 1820 when plague broke out. The French once again appeared to "save the day" with medicine, doctors, and food, on the condition that Beauland remain loyal. Beauland, reluctantly, agreed to France's terms, but in 1822, despite claims that they were going to aid Beauland's economy, educational system, and roadways, the French continued collecting taxes from Beauland without representing them in the French government, and they sent military soldiers to Native tribes to scare them off or kill them. The colonists, angry, rioted against occupying French soliders, resulting in the Squashtown Massacre of 1822. Fed up with their improper treatment, Beauland declared that it would become its own nation, and it claimed independence from France.
Modern-day Beauland is located in the United States. Beauland plans to one day have a strong enough economy to relocate to Canada, a macronation with a shared history involving the influences of both England and France while being its own independent country. Modern Beauland is a place that prides itself on its universal healthcare, food, and housing, as well as strict gun-control laws, an anti-racist government, and pro-LGBT+ legislation. Since 1818, every Citizen has been allowed to vote, including women, Natives, and freed slaves, without the restrictions of wealth or owning land. Beauland welcomes all people to become Citizens, if they want to, without discrimination based on sex, gender identity, religion, social class, country of origin, ethnicity, education, or disability. Beauland likes to think of itself as the "Trur Land of the Free", a place where anyone can be truly free to be themself.

The Beauland Constitution of 2022
On this day, July 3rd, of the year 2022, the newly-formed Governing Body of Beauland does create for itself this Constitution, which will be known as The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland, in order to establish our Nation of Beauland and to ensure the wellness of its Citizens by the principles of logical thought, loving compassion, and peaceful cooperation, for which the Flag of Beauland shall stand.
SECTION 1.
First, let the Governing Body of Beauland establish that the body of the Nation of Beauland is comprised of the bodies of its Citizens; wherever a Beauland Citizen should occupy space shall be the National Land of Beauland, for it is only a Citizen's Body that they are born with and shall have full control over, as no nation or government can claim title to a Human's body without violating a Human's inherent right to autonomy. The Governing Body of Beauland recognizes that a Citizen's Body, being their own form and an extension of the Nation of Beauland, will be referred to as a Citizen's Private Property and cannot be seized, controlled, injured, bought, sold, traded, debated, or otherwise influenced by the Governing Body of Beauland and remains under the private control and ownership of the Citizen to whom it belongs. The Governing Body of Beauland does reserve the right to grant Citizen Status to whomever it wishes, but can recind Citizenship at any time, on accounts of Treason, Heinous Crime (according to The Law Book of Beauland), or Citizen's request.
The Mainland and Nationship of Beauland belongs solely to its founder, His Royal Softness Prince Nathaniel Cherubim Igneus-Valentine, Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland (who, in formality, and when speaking with the representatives of other nations, will be called "Beauland"). The Mainland of Beauland shall also constitute the bedroom of where ever His Royal Softness Prince Nathaniel Cherubim Igneus-Valentine, Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland, calls home at whichever moment His Royal Softness Prince Nathaniel Cherubim Igneus-Valentine, Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland considers to be "the present moment", regardless of whatever internationally recognized Nation or Country it resides in. Should the event occur of his Death, the Nation of Beauland will no longer exist, even with its remaining Citizens (in which case the Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland, The Law Book of Beauland, and all other aspects regarding the existence of the Nation of Beauland become void).
SECTION 2.
The Head of the White Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland shall be its President, the Executive Power of Beauland, appointed by democratic vote of its Citizens, including the Head of the Pink Branch and the Head of the Blue Branch. The President shall be a mediating party between the Heads of the Branches of the Governing Body of Beauland themselves, between the Heads of the Branches of the Governing Body of Beauland and Citizens, and between the Heads of the Branches of the Governing Body of Beauland and citizens and government officials of foreign nations. To be clear, the President of Beauland shall always travel with another member of the Governing Body of Beauland, and the President will be addressed before the other members of the Governing Body of Beauland.
The Head of the Pink Branch shall be the founder of Beauland, His Royal Softness Prince Nathaniel Cherubim Igneus-Valentine, until the day of his death. This leaves in him all legislative powers of Beauland, including (but not limited to) the ability to propose, draft, and approve Bills and Laws to be created, amended, or retired from The Law Book of Beauland. However, let it be known that the Head of the Pink Branch alone is not able to write a proposed Bill or Law into effect without a democratic vote by the Citizens, as well as an approval from either the Head of the White Branch or the Head of the Blue Branch, so that no Bill or Law shall be proposed, drafted, made into Law, amended, altered, or retired without the knowledge of Beauland's Citizens and other members of the Governing Body of Beauland.
The Head of the Blue Branch shall be the Grand Judge, appointed by the Head of the Pink Branch and approved by the Head of the White Branch, after a democratic vote. With the Grand Judge rests the judicial powers of the Nation of Beauland, so that they may uphold what is outlined in The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland and The Law Book of Beauland. The Grand Judge does oversee every legal trial between the Citizens of Beauland, with the aid of the Head of the Pink Branch, in front of a jury of peers, to guarantee the rule of Order, Peace, and Fairness in the Nation of Beauland. Should the Grand Judge make a decision:
i. Without the presence, knowledge, or aid of the Head of the Pink Branch,
ii. Without providing both the defending and plaintiff parties a jury, a chance of defense, and/or a fair trial,
iii. With bias towards a certain party due to bribery, relationships, or etc.,
Then the Grand Judge is to be immediately impeached without democratic vote by the Head of either the Pink or White Branch. A new Grand Judge is to be appointed as soon as possibly, until which all trials are to be halted. If a new Grand Judge cannot be found within a week, the place of the Grand Judge, acting in accordance with all responsibilities of the role of Grand Judge, will be taken up by either the Head of the Pink or White Branch, for a maximum of two months, the end of which time requires the swearing in of a new Grand Judge, which shall be determined by means of popular democratic vote among the Citizens.
SECTION 3.
All democratic votes by the Citizens of Beauland shall occur when asked of by the Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland through whichever online platform is chosen for the act of voting. Citizens will voice their opinions on a "Post" or in a "Thread" as described by The Head of the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland. If there is no majority among the voting Citizens, which shall have three days from the start of the vote to its end to voice their opinions, then the Heads of the Branches of the Governing Body of Beauland shall be the ones to break this tie. If they cannot reach a majority vote amongst themselves, the aforementioned process is to be repeated up to three times before the subject on which is being voted is revisited by the Heads of the Branches of the Governing Body of Beauland, be it a proposed law, an election, or etc. Changes shall be made regarding the contents of the law or the person being decided upon in the election, and the vote redone. This process shall repeat until a conclusion is reached, be it a majority vote is finally decided upon, or the vote is withdrawn and cancelled because it is more trouble than it ought to be worth.
SECTION 4.
The Pink Branch shall have authority, under the command and authority of the White Branch, to regulate and collect Taxes from the Citizens of Beauland, as well as administer to them the Nation's Currency (which will be referred to as "the Beauland Button", even in the event that the shape, nature, or construction of the currency changes). It shall have the authority and responsibility to:
i. Borrow money from other nations on the Credit of the Nation of Beauland,
ii. Regulate Commerce with foreign nations,
iii. Establish National Banks and the rules of bankruptcy regarding the Banks belonging to the Citizens of Beauland,
iv. Regulate the value of the Nation of Beauland's Currency, the Beauland Button,
v. Decide the punishment of counterfeiting the creation and selling of the Beauland Button,
vi. Establish Post Offices, Roads, and Railways,
vii. Copyright the advancements of Sciences and The Arts among the Citizens, especially those that make up its collected Taxes, for the purpose of allowing Creators to keep their rightful ownership of their Creations,
viii. Provide and maintain both a Royal Navy and Army for means of the Nation of Beauland's Defense,
ix. Arm, train, and discipline the Navy and Army so that it acts in the interests of the Citizens of Beauland and does not defend from foreign nations without due cause,
x. Handle the purchase, creation, and maintaing, including in drafting and creating laws regulating the function of, all governmental buildings and structures such as Forts, Docks, Offices, Railways, Houses, Arsenals, and other needed Buildings not here mentioned that are under the control of Beauland, and
xi. Bring into existence through drafting and creating such laws that will grant the power of the Pink Branch to accomplish the listed responsibilities and authorities vested herein this The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland.
SECTION 5.
No Citizen of Beauland, except those who are appointed as part of the Governing Body of Beauland, shall be allowed to withhold any responsibility of the Governing Body of Beauland, and therefore will have no ability or authority to act in any of the manners listed above, which shall be done only by the Pink Branch of the Governing Body of Beauland.
SECTION 6.
There shall be no need for Passports, Migration, or Importation regarding the Citizens or non-Citizens of Beauland, as it is the bodies of the Citizens of Beauland that make up the Body of the Nation of Beauland. There shall be no Boarders, only the consent of the Citizens of the Nation of Beauland whether they visit or shall be visited by other nations or the citizens of other nations. No-one shall be considered "illegal" in the eyes of Beauland; anyone who is made a non-Cititzen by the Governing Body of Beauland, for whatever reason, shall not have their Human Rights revoked, but shall simply no longer effectively be included in any part of the Nation of Beauland, and therefore will be considered "Outside" of the Nation of Beauland. The Nation of Beauland will no longer recognize the non-Citizen as a Citizen, and therefore will the non-Citizen have freedom from any imposed Laws or Taxes imposed by the Governing Body of Beauland.
SECTION 7.
The Governing Body of Beauland, by recognizing that each Citizen makes up its Nation of Beauland, and that it is each Citizen's Human Right that they have full power over themselves in governing their bodies, does grant each Citizen the right to voice their concerns about the Constitution and Request it be revisited or Amended, though the Governing Body of Beauland may choose whether or not to make Amendments, especially in the case a proposed Amendment does infringe upon the rights of the Citizens of Beauland. Beauland recognizes these rights as the freedoms of speech (but not social consequence, so long as it is without the desire or intention to incite harm or violence), religion (without the desire or intention to incite harm or violence), the press (without the desire or intention to incite harm or violence), sexuality (between two or more consenting adults, all of or above the age of 18), and artistic creation (without the desire or intention to incite harm or violence); the right of a Human Being to life, food, shelter, water, basic income, universal healthcare, full bodily autonomy, and respect, regardless of their sex, gender identity, ethnicity, national origin, class, age, education, religion/spirituality, and/or disability. No law shall be created by the Governing Body of Beauland that infringes upon these Human Rights.
The Governing Body of Beauland does not influence its Citizens, but rather, its Citizens can choose to take part in the Nation of Beauland, creating their own societal structure through their own cooperation (or lack thereof). The Royalty of Beauland, acting as the Governing Body of Beauland, does not control its Citizens, though it can reject Citizens and recind Citizenship if it chooses so that a Citizen or non-Citizen cannot do any harm in the name of the Nation of Beauland.
The Army and Navy have little power over the people of the Nation of Beauland and are strictly in place to protect and serve the Nation; they do not have a higher place in any social hierarchy in the Nation of Beauland.
Education is handled at the Citizen level, where all Citizens may teach themselves and each other whatever skills they believe will benefit themselves and each other to create a better, more unified Nation of Beauland. There shall be no state sponsored or governmentally controlled education.
SECTION 8.
It is the understanding of the Governing Body of Beauland that the future is uncertain, and that as the world changes, there will be consequences of changes unforeseen by the Governing Body of Beauland at the time of drafting and creating The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland. It is in the best interest of the Nation of Beauland that The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland be revisited and Amended as needed every 10 years by The Governing Body of Beauland so that it better reflects the world in which it and the Nation of Beauland exist.
With the digital signing of The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland, the Governing Body of Beauland does ratify The Governing Law and Constitution of the Nation of Beauland.

Beauland Tea-Time
Hellow everyone! We, the Governing Body of Beauland, would like to remind you that our national drink is tea, and that (one of) our national food(s) is cookies/biscuits. If you want to, take some time out of your day to sit with a warm cup of tea and some treats. We recommend black tea for waking up, green tea for unwinding, herbal tea for relaxation, and rose tea for celebration of our beautiful nation. If you don't like tea, then just pretend to drink some! The Governing Body of Beauland doesn't recognize "false tea" as a crime, so there will be no legal repercussions for drinking anything other than tea during your designated tea-time. If you live with other Beauland Citizens, it is recommended that you take tea-time together and go someplace fun, like the park, and have a tea party. It is a good idea to have everyone bring their own unique tea cup in this case so there is no confusion about whose cup of tea is whose.
Thank you all, and have a lovely day!

Beauland Taxes
We, the Governing Body of Beauland, decree that the Taxes of Beauland are optional to its people and not required to be fulfilled by any legally recognized Citizen of Beauland. "Failure" to "pay taxes" will not result in any punishment by the Governing Body of Beauland. However, if a Citizen should choose to "pay taxes", they may read on to learn more about "payment methods".
Beauland Taxes are not paid in our currency, Beauland Buttons. Instead, Beauland Taxes are paid in creative works and endeavours done by citizens. Ideally, these Taxes are dedicated to our nation, Beauland, and are done in the spirit of celebrating (or even criticising) Beauland by representing and referencing parts of our nation such as national symbols, our President, our mascot(s), and/or our constitution. However, we, the Governing Body of Beauland recognize and understand that not all creative acts can be in recognition of our nation. To "pay your Taxes", simply be creative in the world we inhabit. Or, if you cannot be creative, or do not wish to partake in any artistic projects, simply be kind. An act of kindness goes a long way, and there is a reason it is called "paying it forward". If you simply wish to "pay your Taxes" by committing an act of selflessness, kindness, or generosity, then by all means, "pay" away!

Beauland Currency
The official currency of Beauland is the "Beauland Button" (BB), consisting of sewing/embroidery buttons of various colours and materials. The size if the button does not determine its value; it is the colour and/or material of the button that determines its worth in Beauland. The value of the colours of Beauland Buttons is as follows:
Red: 1 BB (1 cent)
Orange: 5 BB (5 cents)
Yellow: 10 BB (10 cents)
Green: 25 BB (25 cents)
Blue: 100 BB (1 dollar)
Purple: 500 BB (5 dollars)
Black: 1,000 BB (10 dollars)
Brown/wood: 2,000 (20 dollars)
Mother-of-pearl: 5,000 BB (50 dollars)
"Fancy" (inticate designs, multicolour, rare material, precious stones, commercial characters, animal shapes, etc.): 10,000 BB (100 dollars)
Beauland Buttons, the legal currency of Beauland, are not legally recognized as currency in other nations, and therefore should not, cannot, and will not be exchanged by any Beauland Citizen for any legal currency in any other country. The Citizens of Beauland may trade our legal currency amongst themselves to buy goods from each other, but should refrain from exchanging the Beauland Buttons with each other against the legal currency they have and/or acquire from their internationally, legally recognized nations. Exchanging Beauland Buttons in this way may result in disputes or legal consequences on the parts of other internationally recognized nations. We, the Governing Body of Beauland, are not responsible for a citizen's improper trade and exchange of Beauland Buttons.*
*do not use Beauland Buttons as "real" money; although BBs are recognized as legal** currency amongst Beauland Citizens, they should not be used for actual purchases. Remember that our micronation is not legally recognized by other governing bodies, so trading BBs, which are seen as "false currency", for goods and services outside of our country may lead to international legal issues. Any Citizens who trade BBs and experience any conflicts should email the Governmental Body of Beauland at [email protected] so the Branches may organize and commence a public trial to settle the conflict legally** and peacefully.
**legally as recognized by the Governing Body of Beauland and not by any other nation or international/other governing body
