me, scurring into Isshin's sickroom from the rooftops like the unhinged menace I absolutely am: sir, I have come to fucking bother you in this trying time

There’ll be more wars, there’ll be more corpses, and deep-seated hatred will run wild. Where’s all the hatred go? Haven’t you ever wondered?… Guess not. Guess you haven’t. That’s why I pity you, and I pitied him.

Yes
The Sekiro fanfics I currently want to write are Genichiro growing up in Ashina stories. I imagine Isshin was a tough father figure to have just because he was such a legend and Genichiro wanted to live up to that, but Isshin was still caring when it mattered.

Guys how old do ya’ll think Isshin is? I’m going with 68.
Maybe 70s. But that’s a hard maybe.
Isshin, Lady Butterfly, Orangutan and Owl are most likely around the same age.

What if Wolf became Shura earlier?
If he became Shura before becoming Kuro’s retainer then it’s likely Owl would have called Isshin to kill his son. And Isshin would more than likely succeed.
At Hirata Estate, if Wolf became Shura during the fire, after Kuro gave him the oath. Unaware of what his shinobi had become. Those three years would be very different, and Wolf would probably be put down with the Black Mortal Blade, or not. He’s still immortal and all his opponents aren’t. All he would have do to was give them enough cuts, deep or shallow, and they would bleed out well before he would ever die.
Then there’s the Black Mortal Blade never being used against him because, why the hell would anyone but Kuro know? At best, they would think his pain tolerance is otherworldly and end up slaughtered scratching their heads wondering why he’s not staying down after a blow to the heart. After a while, I’m sure they would recognize Shura, but only the few that have witnessed it beyond just words on a page and stories around a campfire.
At that point, Isshin would most definitely come out of forced retirement. Perhaps Genichiro had ran into Wolf and was killed, or was sent in the hope his lightning would have some effect on putting the monster down. Maybe Genichiro was never sent at all because Isshin had a hunch and ended up sneaking out because Genichiro wanted to come with him and Isshin couldn’t allow that if he turned out to be right.
I have been dying to write Shura Wolf.

Sekiro but as Avatar: the Last Airbender
Hirata Estate are the Air Nomads
Ashina is the Fire Nation but good. (Mainly because firebenders can also wield lightning)
Interior Ministry would be the Earth Kingdom. Usui forest would be loosely connected to them but only as earth blenders.
The Fountainhead Palace would be the Water tribe.
But instead of being unable to find a fire master it’s a water master because everyone at the Palace is hostile and Genichiro would somehow find a way to burn himself with water.

I am so using this in a fic
Imagine Lady Butterfly telling baby Wolf stories, using her illusions to make them come to life. Her talking about the legend of the mist raven while Wolf watches, fascinated.

(Wolf summoning himself out of nowhere to hop dramatically on a roof)
Kuro: Look! It’s my dad. I adopted him.
Genichiro: *???* Don’t you mean-
Kuro: I know what I said.

Has anyone else noticed that the purple reminiscent things that players leave online looks like Lady Butterfly’s kunai and Owl’s bell charm combined.

I wanna write Headless Genichiro so bad. It’s morbid yes but gah-
But should it have Shura Wolf? He’s kinda spicy and I’ve been dying to write both for weeks now. mmmmmm
Or just normal Woof. I like both.

Guys, what if Lady Butterfly put Kuro underneath the effects of an illusion because he was scared.
The temple was locked and Owl has the key after all. And everyone’s kinda confused why Lady Butterfly is there as it doesn’t make sense. Owl could have easily tricked her, and when Wolf got there, she had trained him so she knew words weren’t going to be enough to reason with him if she was an assumed threat to his lord as she wasn’t his father nor his master, and she knew Owl was outside and could have told his son any story in the world.
So instead, she acted like a teacher and prepared Wolf for one day having to face his father. Telling him not to hesitate even with a familiar face because she knew Owl wouldn’t hesitate to cut him down.

Ya’ll know how all the like “major places of Ashina have generals or the one of the Seven Spears guarding the location but no one guards the Serpent Shrine.
What if, Genichiro was stationed there when he wasn’t out fighting or planning strategies. Because I’ve always found it weird how all these places have a General or some “big boi” to guard it but this place was empty. It felt like it was missing something even when Isshin moved there.
Genichiro could have seen it as very dangerous and gave himself the position to act as the guard as a necessity with the war. I’m pretty sure not many people of Ashina actually think the snake god is real but the people that live in the castle would know for certain it’s real as the closest anyone gets is the bridge and that’s why no one is stationed there because it isn’t safe with the snake and the gun fort ready to shoot even a leaf if it moved.
I strongly headcanon Tomoe loved that snake and showed Genichiro it when he was younger. Showing him there was no reason to be afraid of it as it’s job was being the protector of Ashina. And in memory of his mentor, he took to guarding the place she loved going to get away from the castle when it didn’t quite feel like home.
Also the silvergrass field deserves an honorable mention. Genichiro could also act as its guard as well, rotating between the places as both are quite far out of the way and he doesn’t want to risk his men.

K:With all due respect, Mr.Genichiro. My shinobi is more lovely.
G:I am not competing for that.
