I've finished Armored Core VI and wow. To clarify: I can't even. Simply put, I can't express how much I love this thing without devolving into screaming and keyboard-smashing e.g. "Why am I attached to these people trying to shoot me oh my heart agghghghhhhhh speaking of - Michigan <3 <3." I'm very excited to play the sequel within the next decade.
A very interesting commission: Radahn riding the Great Serpent on the Mountaintops of the Giants. I like to think that Torrent took one look at the duo and said, "you're on your own, buddy."
Drew my favourite set from Bloodborne in my usual art style and Chibi. Not sure if this is cute or creepy. But I think the Celestial Children are adorable, so I'm probably not the best judge.
I dare say 2023 was a good art year. I wanted to draw pretty faces; I did, and they look pretty nice.
My long term art goal is — has always been — to perfectly capture the thoughts in my head on paper (or rather screen) and have fun doing it. I have a lot of cool ideas floating around my brain and I hope to grow the technical skills to render them. As such, my immediate goal for 2024 is to draw interesting poses and gestures.
Although, I would also like to not fail statistics or signal & linear systems, so I may have to maths more. 🥲
That's the plan. Thanks for all the support, my friends! Let's keep learning and growing together.
Your Aurora fanart looks like the cover of a middle grade fantasy novel from the early 90s, and I mean this in the most complimentary way imaginable.
Thank you. It would be really cool if I could work on the cover art of a book, but I'll have to learn to reach deadlines. 🥲
While I haven't read any middle grade fantasy novels from the 90s (mostly because I wasn't alive yet), I suppose it's a reflection of how I see Aurora as a "classic" fantasy in tone. There's been a lot of grimdark fantasy stories where life is suffering, the colour palette is shades of black and everyone dies in the end. Which I can enjoy, but reading Aurora has always been refreshing. It's nice to see characters you care about support each other, you know?
