Dying because in Dutch the word for "female friend" and "girlfriend" are the same which can make for some very funny scenarios!

So yeah in Dutch Izzys dialogue in "Izzy does it" is:

"I got the best birthday present ever for a girlfriend because I finally got a girlfriend and it's her birthday!!"

"Congratulation girlfriend!!! And for me too, because I get to call you that for the first time 😊"

Which umm??? Um??? 😳 There's more examples I think but yeah the second I heard that and choked on my water

When Pipp was sick and Zipp brought all the books in her favourite series I expected them to be the Daring Do books, or at least a reference to Daring Do.

I think that would have been fun.

So context

I’m worldbuling my own dragony society somewhat inspired by wings of fire but with way to many details that don’t need to be there as a fun little thing eventually I’ll get to making characters for this world I haven’t named but for now it’s kinda just my “how many details can I fit into one lore” project so yeah

(I’m literally making them their own calendar system I even wrote out parts of a basic launage though atm it’s not Latin based and I haven’t given them their own words yet and I haven’t finsihed it)

I'm jumping more onto the Poppy Playtime bandwagon, especially since the Smiling Critters were introduced for Chapter 3 ^.^✨ I really liked the look of them, along with their cartoon teaser that Mob Entertainment released - adorable with a creepy turn at the end ��� I really like the look of all the critters but the one I took a shine to the most, was the cheery ray of sunshine (literally😁) and leader - DogDay~🐶☀️I just love his personality and how positive he is, no matter what he and the others get up to in the cartoon >w< Which has inspired me to create a Smiling Critter of my own - so without further ado...meet DeerDelight~!🦌🦋 DeerDelight lives for drama and poetry. Being the most expressive of the critters, she is passionate in her words and believes with the right moves, you can soar on the wings of a butterfly. But performing arts isn't the only thing DeerDelight has her heart set on - DogDay. Eeeyup, you all heard right~😜I am shipping her with DogDay (y'all can't stop me, jk~)💘I can see their relationship inspired by Zipp & Blossom from the 1986 cartoon, The Bluffers (raise ya hand if anyone remembers that show✋🏻I sure do!) Hamtaro x Bijou, Bambi x Faline with a dash of Jack x Sally and Kermit x Miss. Piggy😚 As you can see above, DeerDelight fell for DogDay the moment she laid eyes on him, and has been deeply in love with him ever since~💓 She would do anything for him, believing how magnificent her ray of sunshine is in all he does (her words, not mine🤭) as she looks up to him like the other critters do~ Some of the critters find this funny or cute, or even romantic - especially to Bobby Bearhug~ DogDay is sort of aware of DeerDelight's romantic feelings for him, although he can be a bit sheepish about it now and again, wondering why DeerDelight is quite clingy and very expressive around him (along with her poems and secret love letters about him💌) but he does like her all the same and gradually warms up to her over time. Meaning there is a possibility he'll finally return her feelings one day~🌹(As DeerDelight truly hopes, only time will tell~😉) You'll usually find DeerDelight hanging out with CraftyCorn, since their both artistic critters as they express their passions and sometimes, CraftyCorn likes to draw DeerDelight posing dramatically on her favourite drama couch (inspired by Rarity's own) that DeerDelight likes to use when times get dramatic (and sometimes lets the others sit on it too) Although she can be dramatic most of the time, DeerDelight is a warm and friendly critter to be around with~😌 Wow...😗I wrote more than I planned to!😆Still, hope you all like, my lovelies and enjoy!😊👍🏻🫂Also, DogDay and DeerDelight's ship name will be... ...

My Little Pony: Make Your Mark Chapter 6 has been released!

This chapter consists of three regular length episodes and a 44-minute special called "Secrets of Starlight".

Below are the episodes and descriptions:

The Isle of Scaly The ponies visit the Isle of Scaly to ask the dragons to join their fight to stop Opaline… but the dragons aren't sure they should trust them.

Roots of All Evil Pt. 1 The ponies need to figure out how Opaline is stealing the Cutie Marks — and fast! Luckily, Opaline isn't the only pony with dragons on her side.

Roots of All Evil Pt. 2 From Zephyr Heights to Bridlewood, Opaline's on a mission to capture the last of the Cutie Mark magic. But true power comes from friendship, not force!

Secrets of Starlight The Together Tree portal leads the ponies to a glittery wonderland called Starlight Ridge. But are the local Auroricorns hiding something?

Chapter 6 is expected to be the last for My Little Pony: Make Your Mark.

Thoughts on MLP Make Your Mark Chapter 4, Episode 1: Bridlewoodstock

(with spoilers)

So this special really reminded me of the G3 specials, which generally low-stakes (except A Very Minty Christmas when Minty almost fell to her death out of a hot air balloon). Like if you think about it, life would go on if Kimono wasn't surprised on her birthday or if there weren't any rainbows for one year. The mix-up with the three musical acts thinking they would be the headliner, and then an ADDITIONAL mixup where none of them wanted to be the headliner, was especially G3-ish. Mostly this special was about a pleasant vibe and fun songs and ponies dancing around.

However there was some conflict, in the form of Pipp ignoring Izzy's (and the other unicorns') warning about the Troggles.

The Troggles were originally from the G1 episode "The Return of Tambelon". They were the enslaved minions of Grogar until they rebelled against him and befriended the ponies.

In this special they are more like forest spirits, and are only a danger during the nights of the Lumi-Bloom. The unicorns have a poem about them: "Eyes of the monster, form of the pig! Sing, laugh, or yell, set hoof on a twig! Troggles appear, steal what's to be, no cure to be found past the red ruby!" The Troggles steal ponies' voices, but will give them back (and disappear) if presented with a ruby. Which is exactly what happens, and then the ponies go back to their concert and dance party.

Random thoughts and observations:

Izzy says the Lumi-Bloom occurs "every moon season". Also, Minty says the Dreamlands broke up "moons and moons ago." Both of which make me believe that in this world "a moon" is a year, not a month.

We also see several shots of the full moon. Which I think is interesting because they have to add depth (craters) to make it look like a moon, but can't use the same pattern of craters as Earths' moon has.

When Pipp initially sings in the forest these little blueberry guys fly around here--maybe Parasprites or their descendants?

The Lumi-Bloom glow is a natural phenomenon, not magic. (Or at least not pony-magic.)

When Zipp goes to recruit the band Elecric Blue, we see Shutter Snap (who had a toy in the Amazon exclusive pegasus set) as part of the paparrazzi.

The Electric Blue ponies are very Aesthetic; their names are Arpeggio, Fretlock, and Jam Donut.

i havent seen it talked about at all, so lets talk about it. as a survivor of childhood emotional abuse, i want to bring it up!

misty is the perfect example of a victim of long-term emotional abuse, especially of one between parent + child

she flinches at every movement opaline makes, cowers around her, and despite how brilliant she is she bites back her ideas after getting them shut down by opaline and does what opaline says, even if its a bad idea

misty is happier when shes away from opaline, and her not having a cutie mark at all really says something about how emotional abuse like this effects you. its difficult to grow, difficult to discover yourself, because you live in constant fear of the person hurting you. its a very empty feeling, from my experience. you feel very hollow. i can definitely make an allegory about misty’s missing cutie mark and that exact feeling.

misty acts EXTREMELY nervous around others, as if afraid theyll hurt her. reminds me a lot of the constant fight or flight that usually manifests as severe anxiety in abuse victims when they talk to others. its something that is very difficult to unlearn, as often times its the subconscious belief that getting abused is the norm, and not the exception. misty has lived with this her whole life and isnt used to people being nice or even neutral to her.

(also talk about that heavy evasion of eye contact)

fear of confrontation? shes got that too. the LITERAL use of backing into a corner here also says a lot. zipp isnt a threat, but misty views her as one, probably since this is normal for opaline. (and i dont know about anyone else, but i definitely have the “curl up into a ball and look away” response when under pressure, otherwise this is the classic third option of “fight or flight”, which is “freeze”, the typical response for abuse victims)

opaline manipulates misty and pushes her problems onto her. misty wants to be treated by opaline with kindness, and be seen as an equal to her, as evident in their “maniacal laughter” scene. this stuff happens in real life too.

not to mention like, this sequence too? “still got it” implying she has to sneak around regularly, a tactic MANY MANY abused kids have to employ to... exist. learning to sneak around the house without getting sighted or heard is very much a survival instinct we learn. maybe its a bit of a stretch here, but...

its so blatantly obvious that emotional abuse is whats going on here. im happy that its very evident, emotional abuse is NOT talked about enough with kids, especially when its abuse by a parent.

i really wish mlpG5 was just the 2D youtube cartoon, the 3D netflix show is so boring and unappealing to look at

the fact that its 3d and so obviously limited in budget and scope means they cant easily go to fun locations, make new characters or creatures to see, or many fun cartoon gags

i dont know why zipp is a detective? why does she have batman goggles? why is sunny given nothing to do, they've made her personality "makes smoothies." pipp shouldn't have been a princess, if she wasnt id probably find her whole pop star influencer thing a lil more endearing. hitch shouldnt be a cop. i dont like the cocomelon baby. izzys okay but she doesnt have any depth. i like misty

i just keep coming back to how boring these characters are, none of their conflicts are fun to figure out and they dont have interesting dynamics with each other

the movie was good! it was a nice setup for the most part and i was excited to see what was coming next but so far I've just been disappointed

havent read the comics and im on the 4th episode of the newest chapter (also lol i dont like the way this show has been released i assume its some scummy netflix thing so they dont have to pay creators) but i really dont think my opinion's gonna change much. I'll keep watching tho because im stupid and I want it to get better
