At this point, Wonwoo reading to you before bed had become a basic routine. You were both bookworms and had interest in the same genre and authors, so it was only natural to turn the activity into more time spent together.
You had been abnormally busy the last couple weeks, coming home late enough that Wonwoo was often asleep by the time you crawled into bed. You had been subconsciously missing the nightly chapter he would read to you, though you hadn’t realized it yet.
Today had been a particularly exhausting day, work being extra stressful and the day seemed to have lasted longer than normal. You were just so tired by the time you walked through the front door, in desperate need of some relaxation and comfort.
Though it was late, you found Wonwoo still awake, tucked under the covers, bedside lamp on to a low setting that provided just enough light to read the words off the page, but not too much to be blinding given how dark it was outside.
You took a minute to admire the sight. Wonwoo’s round glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, fingers already moving to prepare the next page flip though he was only halfway done with the first page of text.
He looked so content sitting there reading, and the sight alone made you feel a bit better at how crappy your day had been. He didn’t seem to notice your presence in the doorway, too invested in the story to look up. You thought it was adorable.
You decided you would join him for some cuddles as soon as you were properly prepared to fall asleep. You quickly grabbed your pyjamas and made your way to the bathroom to change, brush your teeth, do the necessary skincare, etc.
When you emerged from the bathroom, Wonwoo finally looked up from his page, lips curling into a soft smile at the sight of you in your pyjamas, face looking so so tired but still stunningly pretty.
He motioned for you to come join him, opening up the blanket for you to snuggle under, resting your head on his chest, feeling the steady beating of his heart through the thin material of his sleep shirt.
“How was your day, my sweetheart?” He whispered, voice seeming to rumble through his chest where your cheek was pressed, deep and comforting.
“Shitty.” You mumbled back, making him chuckle.
“Want me to read?” He offered, knowing just as well as you how much you loved it. You nodded against his chest, prompting him to start from the beginning.
His voice was soothing, reciting the words off the page, transporting you to another world that was fantastical and filled with life. You closed your eyes, letting your other senses be filled with just Wonwoo. Your hands gently wrapped around his stomach, feeling just how warm he was compared to your body that was still rather chilly. His familiar scent and soothing voice filled your other senses, relaxing you completely.
Wonwoo paused when he heard your soft snores, a smile creeping up on his face naturally. He placed the book on his bedside table along with his glasses, quietly switching the lamp off and closing his eyes, joining you in your blissful dreamland.

i tag for personal organizational purposes and ease of blacklisting. fandom posts will be tagged with a fandom tag, sometimes a ship if it’s relevant & i post about it enough. i usually abbreviate stuff. feel free to shoot me an ask if you want to know if i’ve got a tag for x fandom or whatever.
i do my best to tag for typical triggers as well as flashing gifs. they will be tagged as “tw (trigger)” or “(trigger) tw”. i tag for typical stuff (gore, body horror, etc) and do my best to be mindful. if i miss something (especially flashing gifs!) feel free to let me know.
i don’t tend to follow many blogs and i block liberally. i’m mostly here for my friends and for artists/writers i enjoy. i like to heavily curate my online experience for my sanity’s sake. you’re welcome to chat with me but i’ve got low levels of energy when it comes to social interaction so don’t take slow responses personally. this applies to asks too. i’ll probably answer them...eventually. you are always welcome to come into my inbox to talk to/ask me about my art/writing/etc.

Favourite season: Season 4, not entirely for Cas-related reasons, but like… near enough :P He’s the magic ingredient.
Favourite non-human species: unsurprisingly, I really like the fairies :P And all the related nonsense like the Zanna or the banshee or whatever. Still holding out for a fairy mytharc/the Bad Place being a fairy realm or something.
Favourite season big bad: Metatron in season 9… He not only made me like the show again after fading interest over season 7 & 8 (for understandable “i wasn’t technically human either at that point”) reasons, but dragged me kicking and screaming into meta fandom :P Azazel gets runner up points for being the original flavour bad guy who did his job so well we didn’t find out his name until after he was dead :P He makes everyone else look weak, tbh.
Favourite season finale: ^ season 9 because of Metatron and the demon!Dean drama which is just extreeemely well done. I like a lot of the old season finales right up to season 6, but there was something really electric and shocking about this one in particular. 8x23 as well… I think Carver wrote the two best season finales. I think the end of 8x23 is probably the most stunning, but I just really dig demon!Dean and all the drama that went down in that episode :P
Favourite The Road So Far sequence: whoops I started answering this about season finales then suddenly realised that’s the text from the start of seasons/midseasons. Well in that case WHOOPS I swear I’m not showing some sort of hideous bias here, but the “who do you love” nonsense from 9x01 has a special place :P It’s recapping season 8, what choice does it have?? :P
Favourite crack ship: I’m still laughing about this
Favourite catchphrase: “So get this…” it’s always a sign of hilarious(ly bad) exposition to come, and it makes me crack up when people use it in fic. I always feel fond of Sam saying it and it’s not been ruined or dragged into the ground by the show or fandom either. Win win.
Favourite character that was in only one episode: Guuuh they keep bringing back the really interesting ones… I’m skimming the entire list of episodes right now and you know who I’d like to see again? Atropos or one of the other Fates. I swear half TFW’s bad luck is just because they pissed them off so much and we never get a follow up but all 3 of them are alive and well and hate them, as far as we know
Favourite angel other than Castiel: well now I’m thinking about Balthazar it’s going to be pretty hard to think of anyone else :P
Favourite MotW episode: *quiet screaming at being asked to choose* 4x05 seems a good start… the last few seasons have seen a huge boom of god tier good MotW episodes and beneath that a whole bunch of really good ones. I swear Robbie was like “i’m going to set the bar with 11x04″ and everyone else scrambled to not look bad in its wake :P
Favourite version of Castiel that is not quite Cas: Emmanuel was a cupcake. Lookit him healing peeps when he had no idea he was an angel. *pats his head*
Favourite prop: for some reason this just instantly made me think of the fake Ruby’s knife in 6x15 which you can see Dean stab Sam with in the background and it cracks me up every time…
Favourite season opener: 4x01. Hi buddy.
Funniest episode: Changing Channels and Monster Movie are in this eternal battle for me over which is funnier, but I already mentioned Monster Movie, so Changing Channels can have this one :P
Most emotional episode: 12x22 made me cry like 18 times and I hate it. 7x10 just makes me openly bawl every single time though.

i'm really exhausted just need minghao to comfort me pls anything soft about hao i'm begging :((((
i'm gonna put this in with soft hours cause i have some soft bf minghao thoughts anyway skjskd
it's still early in the morning and minghao feels his own tiredness seep into every bone in his body, the intense dance practices yesterday making their presence known. he sinks his head into his pillow a bit deeper, sighing at the warmth the soft blankets provide him and just how comfortable it was.
"you'll be late for work, hao." he hears your voice, a small mumble close to his ear. he smiles a little, humming out a reply but still not opening his eyes. he was just so content laying where he was, that the intention of getting up and out of bed was a distant idea.
"baby." you say again, dragging out the petname, urgency starting to pull at your voice. "you said you had to be at the building by 8 am."
this time, instead of just humming, minghao chooses a different strategy to get you to stop pestering him. finding your wrist with his eyes still closed, he gently clasps his hand around it and tugs slightly, enough for you to fall forward a bit right into his chest. from then, he wraps his arms around you to trap you and make sure you couldn't go anywhere.
you whine out a complaint and minghao finally decides that he wants to look at you, so he slowly blinks open his eyes, squinting at the sunlight that seeped through the window. once his eyes were adjusted, however, the sunlight proved to be very welcome. the way it hit your skin made it look glowy and warm.
"pretty." minghao mumbled, a smile playing at his lips as he continued to admire your face without shame. you sat up a bit, evading minghao's hug easily now that his focus was directed somewhere else.
"baby," you said again, making eye contact with your boyfriend. his smile widened as he met your eyes, a soft giggle escaping his lips. he knew he was being a little ridiculous, refusing to leave bed, but he didn't particularly care. if it was possible, he would happily stay like this for hours, or maybe even the whole day.
"you'll seriously be late." the conclusion came with your hand cupping his cheek. he pouted with a sigh, knowing you were absolutely right. it was already almost 7:30am, and his time to get up and eat breakfast was passing by quickly.
"just 5 minutes?" he proposed, hands circling your waist, pulling you a little closer again. you sighed, knowing you could hardly ever say no, especially to a request like that.
"only 5, okay?"
"mhm... just 5." he hummed, hugging you as close as he could, feeling warm butterflies spread in his stomach once again at the fact that you were his. you were the one cuddling with him in the morning, looking as radiant as ever, keeping him company. he hoped days like this would continue for a very, very long time.

soft hours!!
imagine working overtime at your job and you finish around 11PM. it’s raining outside and you don’t have your umbrella but little did you know that co-worker joshua also worked overtime as well (and you may have the slightest crush on him too…). he sees you and offers to walk you home or to the bus stop since he has an umbrella, and it’s just you (and maybe him) trying to handle the closeness of being next to each other while walking under the umbrella together KANSNKSJS SN

It's the way you both would always steal glances at each other at work, but somehow never noticed that the other did it. Both of you completely oblivious that the other was garnering feelings, so you both tried to act as natural as possible around each other as you could.
And you were fairly good at that, until one night when you were working overtime. You thought you were going to be home by like 6 pm, so you didn't look past that time on the weather forecast. It was supposed to start raining at 9, and when you glanced out the window from your work you realized you would have to walk home in the rain.
But fear not! Because when you had finally finished everything and packed up to go home, Joshua was standing at the door waiting for you.
"I thought you had already gone home?" You asked him, because you remember watching him walk out about an hour before you.
"I had things to do after overtime before I could leave." He lied so quickly, too shy to admit the fact that he was waiting for you. But what was he supposed to do? Leave you to walk home in the rain when he had an umbrella? No.
He coughed awkwardly, "It's raining... pretty hard." You hummed. "You don't have an umbrella, do you?" You shook your head awkwardly. "I can share mine."
When you looked at him, he had this satisfied grin plastered on his face, low-key proud of himself for being able to be all gentlemanly and offer to walk you home in the rain. But, that confidence didn't last long as you agreed and you both actually started walking.
Your shoulder was practically brushing against his because whenever one of you stepped away a bit, the other would worry about their shoulder getting wet. There really wasn't anyway around it if you both wanted to get home without dampened clothes.
"Your shoulder will get soaked." Joshua said with a frown, holding the umbrella over you so it covered both your shoulders again. You glanced over at him and the very obvious fact that because the umbrella was now covering you, it wasn't covering Joshua nearly as well. So, you pushed the umbrella back over to cover both his shoulders, muttering something about him being a hypocrite.
Your stubbornness combined with Joshua's stubbornness just ended up with you two in such a close space that your stomach did flips. Your fingers once accidentally brushed against Joshua's, causing the bright blush on your cheeks to only deepen.
You thought it was only you, but the close proximity made you both blush. If it wasn't dark and rainy in the middle of the night, you would probably catch on to the other's flushed state.
But, since it was late at night in the pouring rain, you both just continued to walk, unaware that the closeness was affecting the other person as well.

and and i know this is so overrated but just chilling in your home with bf namjoon :( cuddled up while you’re reading a book or cooking together… or a date n walking around th park or or museum date :((( i’m so soft for him literally stop 🥹
Stop omg it’s literally so domestic whenever you’re with Joon. Even when you’re out on a date it’s just so relaxing and healing just cause you’re with Namjoon.
He likes to go to museums or bike around the park or just walk hand in hand. And he’ll dress like SUCH a boyfriend with loose over-shirts or big sweatshirts and have a messenger bag hung around his shoulder where he keeps his notebook and other things.
He’ll stop at a random bench in the park and pull out the notebook to write lyrics that suddenly came to him. And you just watch in awe as he looks around the park at the scenic view and other people walking their dogs or playing with a frisbee, and he just starts writing and his dimple pops out, and you fall in love all over again.
And when he takes you to the museum he always has fun facts about EVERY painting or piece of artwork there. Even if it looks like some weird squiggly lines or smudges (smh you don’t appreciate modern art like he does) he’ll start explaining in SUCH detail what the process was for creating the piece, and how the artist put a piece of their soul in everything they create.
You try to gain even a fraction as much appreciation for the art as your boyfriend does, but you kinda tune out once he starts explaining to just stare at him. Cause he just looks so attractive when he’s talking about the things he loves that you just can’t look away!! And if his dimples appear when he’s talking cause he’s smiling so much, you sneak in a kiss on them because you can’t help yourself </3
Cooking would be… uhm… 🧍♀️yeah… it’s just you trying desperately to make sure Joon doesn’t burn the entire kitchen down. And he’s trying his BEST okay 😭 he really really is, but he’s just… so… bad at it. HE NEEDS HELP OKAY LIKE A LOT OF HELP.
But lucky for him, you are always happy to help :D you would place your hands over his as he’s trying to chop an onion and complaining about the tears. Really, you’re worried he’ll chop his finger off, so you try to guide the knife steadily. It kinda backfires, because he gets flustered and his cheeks just flush a bright red and he goes abnormally quiet.
“Babe, you okay?”
“O-oh, yeah…”
“We’re making soup, remember? Can you peel the carrots?”
He just looks at you cluelessly until you direct him to the cutting board with 2 carrots and a vegetable peeler.
Namjoon loves to cuddle you while working in his studio. He’s getting frustrated with this song he promised to do as a collab with another artist. Those are most stressful cause he feels so much pressure to do well on them, and no matter how much tweaking he does, the song just sounds so bland and boring.
Discarding his headphones, he finally decides to take a break. He swivels around in his chair to find you on the couch behind him, hands hugging your legs as you scroll through your phone mindlessly.
And the biggest smile just blooms on his face because he’s feels so lucky that you are his girlfriend and that he can just go hug you and kiss you whenever he wants. So he joins you on the couch, pulling you until you fall into his arms. And you two just stay like that, your head snuggled into his chest, breathing in his familiar scent.
He can’t help but litter kisses on your forehead and temple, muttering soft ‘I love you’s and ‘I’m so lucky to have you’. You always relax completely when you’re in his arms because it is truly the safest place you could ever be. Listening to his steady heartbeat and subconsciously matching your breathing with his, you feel completely at ease and utterly in love.

I'm not asking you to rush things out but you were being way too unfair, don't you think? You write the requests that were requested by your FAV ANON or MOOTS. If you won't be able to write them, don't open a request
....i thought i explained myself well enough in the original post, but i guess not.
i am being unfair, but not in the way you claim i am. if you look at all my fics, i'd bet that the majority were ideas that i came up with, from my own brain. my writing is extremely unfair because i value my own ideas above anyones. i enjoy writing my own ideas more than anyone else's, even my best friends. isn't that unfair?
your point about writing the requests from my favorite anons and moots, isn't even accurate. it should be, because when i write something for my moots or a favored anon, at least they'll thank me for it or give some feedback (which is extremely rare on tumblr). more often that not, random anons that aren't named won't claim their request and thank the author for it. when they do, it's like a happy little surprise and honestly makes my day. but it's not common. writing for my moots and favorite anons is more fulfilling and more fun, which is why i like it. but requests from my moots are still lying at the very bottom of my inbox-- some of them were requested in summer of last year. that's how old they are. what i don't see is my moots complaining to me about not writing their idea.
not all things in life are fair, i'm sorry to say. should i be complaining because the things i've requested my moots to write haven't been finished yet? or what about those requests that i sent into writers when i first joined tumblr in august of 2022? those weren't finished-- so should i be mad about it? i'm not. because i requested them not feeling entitled that the writer needed to finish it. think about it, you're asking that someone else use their creative skills to write something for you. AND FOR FREE. art commissions often cost money, people get paid for journalism. these things are usually valued and the original artists get something out of it; money.
but fanfic isn't like that, and i definitely don't think it should be. it's for free and that's part of the charm. us authors are writing because we want to, and the fact that the readers can request something at all and the author might write their idea is a beautiful thing. but the relationship between author and reader needs to have that balance. we are giving you something to read, something to enjoy out of your day, all for free, and because we want to. the least you could do is send in feedback (which tumblr struggles with). a comment or reblog makes an author's entire day believe it or not. but if you then complain to us about not writing enough or about not completing requests, that is only going to deter us from doing it.
anonymity can be a great thing, but one of the negatives is that when 1 anon sends us a complaint or hate, we can't associate that anon from another. named anons, we can, of course. but among the dozens of requests in my inbox, i don't know which one is yours. you really could be anyone-- all i can see is the anon icon. and my inbox is full of that icon. when one anon complains, an author is going to start to get a bad feeling from interacting with anons in general. some authors won't take requests from anons, i've seen blogs do that.
i don't want to do that, and i'm not going to. i like taking requests both from moots and anons in my inbox. unlike some other blogs, i also like to keep my inbox open at all times. and there's a reason why i do that, and it all comes back to my writing process.
i don't work with the mindset that an old idea needs to be finished before a new idea. when you get an idea that you're really excited about (whether from my own brain or from a request in my inbox sent in that day) you want to write it immediately. and you should. as authors, we learn that you have to work with the motivation, otherwise you'll get frustrated. when you're motivated, writing becomes easier and more fun. when you're frustrated, it becomes harder and you're usually less happy with the outcome.
it was probable that i was just not motivated in the moment to write your prompt, whatever it was that you sent in. i don't delete requests, though, because i never know when i'll get the motivation for an idea. usually on days when i'm not particularly motivated to write anything in particular but still want to write something, i rng my list of requests. if i land on one that i'm not motivated to write, i simply skip it.
but i never delete it.
i don't feel overwhelmed by my inbox being full because i've never put pressure on myself to finish these requests. i remember my sister being worried about me whenever i said that i had to work on a request. she didn't want me to feel pressured to have to write something. she emphasized that it was okay to not write requests. but i told her that i was only doing it because i wanted to and that it was fun.
there is a way to ask a writer if they've forgotten about your request or ask them how it's going without being entitled and whiny like you, anon. you could come into our inboxes and say something like:
"hi! i requested something from you a while ago [let them know what the request was], and was wondering how it was going? please take all the time you need to complete it, i don't want you to feel pressured. thank you ^^"
a request like this, more often than not, will motivate the author to look back at the request, check how much they've written on it, or if they've started it at all, and maybe write some more. next time, i'd suggest you try this method instead of complaining that an author completed a request from one of their named anons.

Don't you think you're being selective on choosing a request? I think i did REQUESTED you something a long time ago
hi anon, listen. i do agree with you wholeheartedly, actually. i am being selective and i know that. out of the 60 or more requests in my inbox, i do choose which ones get written first, and it's normal and part of the process, believe it or not! i get the frustration with a writer not completing a request you sent in, especially if it takes us a long time. but let me remind you of a couple things.
firstly, i'm not obligated to write anything. i take requests for fun, because i want to. i never promise to finish a request within a certain amount of time-- i never even promise to finish a request at all. i want to, trust me i really do. i love writing and i love completing requests and i feel happy whenever i receive them, but it's just not that simple. just because i want to do something, doesn't mean i can, and certainly not in a timely fashion.
secondly, writing is complicated and hard and time-consuming, and it runs on inspiration and motivation. if i could write every single idea i had without putting in the time and effort, i would. i would love to post the hundreds of drafts i have, to complete the dozens of requests ive gotten. but i can't. i have to put in time to write all these words, to create a story, and to hopefully, make it enjoyable to my followers. and again, i do this all for fun. as a hobby. to relieve stress and get some enjoyment. so please don't feel entitled to anything from me, because i never promised you anything in the first place.
thirdly, i do state in my requesting guidelines these disclaimers (at the very top, mind you):
so, given these 3 things, i would expect that the people and anons requesting from me would take this into account. i would apologize for taking so long to complete the requests... but i really don't feel sorry. i will unapologetically continue to take as long as i need to write these fics, which i will remind you again, i'm writing for fun, for free, for you. if you don't like that, then you can leave and go to another writer who might finish them quicker than me. though, i would warn you, that the vast majority of writers feel the exact same way as me.
we are humans too, not robots, not machines whose only purpose is to constantly release fic after fic. the art of writing takes some skill and a whole hell of a lot of time, so please respect that.
