🌿 how does creating make you feel?

good question. so. i've been working as a scientist for the last ten years. as much as I love working on the bench, writing has been a needed and welcome distraction/creative vent ;u; <3

I love writing. it's self expression, and an aspect of myself that isn't consigned to the rat race, and I appreciate that, so much <3

🎀 give yourself a compliment about your own writing

oh this question is lovely ;u; I really love my narrative voice? and my ability to slip into character voices. it's honestly the most fun part of the whole process, figuring out the character and the voice >:3

🪄 what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?

another great question!! okay. OKAY. it depends on the fic. sharing is the worst part of writing, honestly, and... the aftermath is mixed. for stuff I really like, I share it everywhere, as I love it. I do edit the next day, but it's usually minor edits - things I would notice, like word choice. and if I really like the fic, I'll commish scenes from it, hehehe

for fics that were more difficult, or I'm unsure about, my method is yeeting it onto my ao3 profile, as otherwise it will never be finished, and then politely ignoring it and focusing on the next project xD

my policy is that all writing is good writing, even when it's hard. I share it because a) it's usually better than I feel it is (just gotta wait a month) and b) because fanfic doesn't need to be perfect to be shared.

I'm realising there needs to be more of a celebrating stage here, but honestly, it's the writing process itself that I enjoy, ahahaha. ALTHOUGH, I am working on ropes and fangs, an original werewoof romance, and I am excited to share it when it's done. it's a big project, so I will absolutely celebrate when it's done xD
