something about the idea that Charlie trusts William over her own dad and that trust gets her killed has been tumble drying in my brain for ages it upsets me greatly.
Cus she knows her dad, right? He's a flawed person. He doesn't spend as much time with her as he should and is generally emotionally unavailable. Not that he doesn't love and care for her and she knows he does but also like... she doesn't know Bill. She's like 10 and she's falling for the 'perfect suburban dad' front he's putting on. All her interactions with him have been possitive because he's always acting when he's around her. Fuck.
