hello mandela catalogue tumblr, i’m only posting here to mention something about the series i have recently noticed in regards to the motif of the faces seen in the instalments.. so far I’ve seen them in:
Volume 1 (Remastered)
Mandela Catalyst
Presto
It may be nothing, but these faces remind me SO much of the “you are an idiot” trojan virus that became mainstream in the late 1990’s after it was anonymously published as a form of scareware.
the reason i think is even remotely relevant is because MandelaTECH seems almost perfect for the era and line of profession the virus became well known in, and the whole purpose of the virus was to directly mock those who would download it, which in my eyes is very reminiscent of the direct messages we see in the tampered tapes (seemingly left by the alternates) to mock their victims.
[example, the hidden block of text that reads “A fool” under Dave’s nametag in https://www.mandelatech.com/prophet, seen by pressing Ctrl + A]
I obviously have no idea if this was intended by Alex or not and might be easily clutching at straws but.. fun to think about.

im gonna make a virus info post soon.. i need to draw stuff for it but have these little YAAI sibling doodles for now hehehe.. @cephalonheadquarters @superbellsubways
they're virus matter in the sense that they've grown accustom to their body and don't need a host or shell in order to survive 😁 they're fleshy and more humanoid rather than a pile of goop. i guess advanced virus matter but that sounds kind of stupid so i'll think of something later..
i divided virus matter into three stages - conception, goop and modification .. these r basic names and i'll most likely change them going forward but yeah just to give u an idea. the YAAI siblings are at the third stage if u want a clearer idea of what it looks like before i. actually draw up concepts har har har
