shyn's family dynamic is as follows

she had Mom and Dad to begin with, but when she was tiny her Dad died in a workplace accident all of a sudden. doesn't remember him well at all but he was a good man and loved his family very much and it was a tragedy.

her Mom got very depressed and struggled to raise bby shyn alone and depended on booze mainly, she got a bit better which is when she met Stepdad and they had marosha, shyn's stepsister

unfortunately Mom's troubles lead to her eventually splitting from Stepdad and getting worse, meeting some shady people as she went. shyn stayed close with Stepdad who tried his best with his ex and both the kids

Mom got married to Bad Dad who was tangled in criminal stuff and actual danger and drugs, and they ended up having llelene, but when she was tiny, Bad Dad ended up killing Mom

at this point shyn was in her late teens/barely an adult (raised with marosha by Stepdad) and got so mad she went and murdered Bad Dad herself as revenge and then ditched her homeland to hide at the outer rim to avoid punishment which didn't end up coming. maybe laszlo was the police chief at the time and was like oh well

these days shyn is still very very close with Stepdad, considers him her primary dad even if she does have keepsakes from her bio dad, thats the man who raised her and she loves him very much. misses her mom and especially when she got pregnant she got very sad mom wouldnt see the grandbby. close with marosha who's the most well adjusted of the sisters, she has a lil family of her own (shyn stayed with her with marcy when preparing for mints birth, marosha got kids of her own she was a big support alongside Stepdad). llelene unfortunately is dealing with the same struggles Mom did and often disappears and is in a bit of a bad shape so shyn and marosha do try to help her out when they can, its a bit rocky. they love her dearly tho
