Easter Eggs from Till the End of the Moon🎁(Part 1)
Now that everyone's had a chance to watch and rewatch, here's a list of easter eggs or hidden details from the show that I jotted down. A lot of spoilers below, obviously.
Throwaway lines that foreshadowed the end:
Tumblr media
(1) At the end of ep 1, Susu asks her servant what is Tantai Jin (TTJ)'s Achilles Heel, and Chuntao responds it is Ye Xiwu (YXW). We all think this is funny because YXW is a bullying wife, but this is actually foreshadowing for the ending (Susu is TTJ's Achilles Heel after all)
Tumblr media
(2) Pang Yizhi seems like a joke but is actually right on critical things:
When he first meets TTJ, he predicts that TTJ would be rich and powerful, which Susu thought was indication that Xiaoyou Sect’s standards have declined. Pang is actually correct as TTJ did end up reuniting the Jing and Sheng kingdoms.
In episode 6, he predicts the person who will unite the kingdoms and bring lasting peace is in his presence (Xiao Lin & Ye Qingyu). Everyone assumes he is referring to Xiao Lin, who is in line to be king, but in fact it is Ye Qingyu who takes over from TTJ in ruling for 500 years
In episode 8, he predicts that YXW would come into contact with water and the danger would be resolved. This ends up being true as YXW survives jumping ship. He then says YXW might even become queen of the Jing kingdom, which did end up happening.
(3) In episode 7, Ye Xiwu's dad was so excited that Ye Qingyu stayed overnight at a lady's place that he says he would accept this daughter-in-law even if she were a "widow or even a demon". Pianran is in fact a fox demon who's had a previous lover.
(4) In episode 19, when Pianran gives YXW the suggestion that she should cook for TTJ, she joking wishes that TTJ would be poisoned by YXW. He was indeed poisoned by YXW later.
Tumblr media
(5) The entire sequence in the festival where YXW is chosen to play the goddess and TTJ is chosen to play the demon god is foreshadowing for what happens in the end. The demon god willingly allows the goddess to kill him. In fact, there's a fan theory that the "ancient tale" is left by the prophets as instructions for what must happen in the end.
Connections between the Dream Arc and the rest of the Story:
Tumblr media
(6) Time God Jize says to Sangjiu that they have a special connection, a connection that "you [TTJ] know, she [LSS] knows, but Sangjiu and Mingye do not know", hinting he is aware that she is Susu is playing Sangjiu and that she would experience the dream of wisdom (Bo're Dream).
(7) Chuhuang also says she feels a strange sense of familiarity with Sangjiu. Susu is actually her daughter. She doesn't know because, unlike Jize, she doesn't have prophetic powers.
(8) You can think of the ancient gods continuing to fight a proxy war 10,000 years later through the next generation of characters:
Jize waits in the Abyss for 10,000 years to tell Susu the prophecy i.e. how to defeat the demon god and pass on the Mirror of the Past. He also leaves behind his student Pang Yizhi to provide continued guidance in his holographic form.
Mingye leaves his dream behind to educate the reincarnated demon god. He lures TTJ in, recognizing who he is as he's seen the Ancient Demon God without his mask on.
Chuhuang leaves behind her daughter LSS, the last goddess on earth and only person who can defeat the demon god. Upon her death she becomes the Chongyu harp, LSS's godly weapon, which is able to harm the Demon God as we see in Episode 1.
(9) TTJ didn't trust Dimian because he's the only one aware that he betrayed the Ancient Demon God
Tumblr media
(10) The little boy that Jize pushes off the podium is Pang Yizhi (as indicated by the birth mark on his hand.) That explains why Pang has prophetic powers and helps move the story forward even in his virtual form - he's a student of the Time God
(11) The drama very clearly explains what happens to the three weapons of the Demon God after the ADG falls 10,000 years ago:
During the fight, the God-Piercing Bow (屠神弩) is cast into the Weak Sea by Mingye. 10,000 years later, it is absorbed by TTJ while searching for YXW’s soul
The Marrow Cleansing Seal (洗髓印) creates the Buzhao Mountains and was later collected by Mingye, who tries to repurpose it into a tool that can cleanse Sangjiu’s demon bone into an immortal bone. After Sangjiu dies, he uses his remaining powers to lock it under the water mirror in the Upper Immortal Realm. It remains there for 10,000 years until Siying attempts to steal it.
The Heaven-slaying Sword (斩天剑) is stolen by Dimian to stab the ADG in the back. It later resurfaces when a power-hungry Dimian uses it to kill Susu's adoptive father and steal LSS’s extracted demon bone
(12) Mingye and Li Susu experience mirroring life events: They both lose their sight, give up their immortal bone, become a True God, kill the Demon God, and lose the love of their lives at the end of their story.
Special Relationships between Objects and Characters:
Tumblr media
(13) TTJ has a special connection with the Dragonheart Shield (护心鳞) – it comes from Mingye and is later refined by Cang Jiumin:
The Dragonheart Shield originally comes from the dragon scale protecting Mingye’s heart, which he gave up in order to retrieve the Marrow Cleansing Seal at the Buzhao Mountain, hence it was left with the Xiaoyao Sect. This happens 10,000 years ago in Mingye’s dream
The Shield is then offered as a wedding gift to Xiao Lin (perhaps to protect him from future events?) from the Xiaoyao Sect. (This is its first appearance to the audience.) XL then gifted it to TTJ as a gesture of goodwill in order to secure protection for Ye Bingtang.
The Shield protects TTJ from YXW's three final nails, suggesting some protection from Mingye and his faith that TTJ is still salvageable
After TTJ disappears, it was safeguarded by Ye Qingyu (as masked Jin emperor) for 500 years. In the draft screenplay, Cang Jiumin and Li Susu were supposed to collect it from YQY (that was why they had to fight the nightmare demon - YQY wasn't willing to give it up because the demon was impersonating Pianran).
CJM then distils the shield’s powers to form a protective boundary for the cultivation world and was given the shield for safekeeping
Later it's suggested he left a fragment of himself in the Shield. Some fan theories state that he would eventually be able to take physical form after years healing in the Shield
Tumblr media
(14) Similarly, LSS has a connection with the Jade of Doom (倾世之玉) – it is created by Sangjiu and later absorbed by YXW, connecting and symbolizing tragedy in the two characters
The Jade of Death is created by Sangjiu with the fallen bodies of the Snake Clan in order to resurrect her family. As this is a violation of natural order, SJ invites a divine trial of purple thunders, which she does not pass, even with Mingye’s immortal bone, due to her lack of a physical body.
The Jade is then left at the bottom of the Mo River, which is later collected by YXW when she falls into the river. YXW has a dialogue with the jade’s unseen creator. The jade is later absorbed by YXW to divert it away from TTJ and prevent him from gaining its powers but suffering a cursed fate
Later YXW uses the Jade in her body to rapidly cultivate an immortal bone, which she successful swaps with TTJ’s demon bone, giving him cultivation powers. This also attracts purple thunders that serves as YXW’s divine trial, which she passes and travels back to 500 years later as LSS
Tumblr media
(15) Similarly, the Ice Crystal Casket (冰晶盏) has a connection with TTJ, Xiao Lin, and Ye Bingchang – it is used twice to resurrect XL using powers of TTJ and YBC, symbolizing rebirth and redress:
It is first created by Mingye from a 10,000 year old ice crystal guarded by the Snake Clan (Tianhuan’s clan) in order to resurrect the Clam Clan, specifically Sangyou. Sangjiu breaks the box in front of Mingye and says she will find another way to resurrect her brother
After Xiao Lin dies, Pang Yizhi repairs it to resurrect XT, using TTJ’s blood and YBC’s tears as ingredients to rebuild him into a new character, GZJW.
Tumblr media
(16) LSS uses the Mirror of the Past (过去镜), a sacred object safeguarded by the Xiaoyao Sect, to travel back 500 years, which is where she meets the Time God Jize. When Jize dies, his powers form the Mirror of the Past, which LSS collects and entrusts with Pang Yizhi to be brought back to Xiaoyao Sect for safekeeping, thus completing the time loop.

Do you think Jin Kazama fucked up in Tekken 6 and activelly seek redemption in Tekken 8 ?
That's two opinions that diverge reguarding Jin's character, wether his war spreading action during Tekken 6 were justifiable or not, and whether he really protected the world from a bigger threat or if he committed atrocities for nothing in the end despite what we could beleive to have been noble intentions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After reading those two opinions, I concluded two things :
First , Jin was truly convinced that he was committing short-term harm for long-term good, and most certainly hoped that he would be killed along with Azazel, and perhaps hoped that fighters of Lars Alexander's caliber would be enough to put an end to the threat that Kazuya represents if the latter decides to set out to conquer the world right after (which he will do from Tekken 7). But on top of that, Jin may have wanted to get rid of his devil gene unfortunately more than he truly cared about the loss of innocent lives in the process, probably due to the influcence of Devil.
Second, Jin's plan indeed failed, because Azazel's spirit survived, and is threatenign to resurect through Zafina's body who tried to have the demonic entity's spirit sealed into her left arm, only to realize that she is slowly, but surely losing control of it. Both Zafina and Jin didn't foresee this terrible outcome, yet it makes it will make it seem that all the sins Jin's comitted, in the hope that humanity would still be protected despite the death count, were for nothing.
And this is why Tekken 8 may be the chance for Jin to atone for his actions in Tekken 6, which he guenuinly regret according to his bio for the game : "Jin swore to end Kazuya's reign of terror in order to atone for the war and destruction he had caused"
Jin is even willing to die in order to stop Kazuya, which could be seen as Jin thinking that He himself also deserves to die for his crimes in Tekken 6
Yet I can't help but imagine Jin's reaction once Zafina manages to meet him again with Xiaoyou and Claudio's help, and she tells him that his fight against Azazel didn't killed the demonic entity, and thus that the crimes he had committed to protect the world from a bigger threat may actually have been for nothing.
I beleive Jin is gonna be devastated once he learns that, and focus even more and killing both Kazuya and himself in the process in order to "atone" (Although I personally beleives that living with what he did would a more efficient way for Jin to atone).
Overall, even though Jin's intentions are understandable, his logic is terribly flawed. Azazel wasn't a direct threat, with more time Jin could have and should have at least tried to seek another way to awake the entity and destroy it, and only use WW3 as a desperate last resort (the short time frame between Tekken 5 and Tekken 6 doesn't seem to indicate that Jin searched for others "solution" to get rid of Azazel and his Devil gene when he was the Mishima Zaibatsu's dirigeant).
And in Tekken 8, Jin is still focused on killing Kazuya, thinking that both himself and his father should not live, despite the fact that Jin's mother mother asked her son to "save himself and Kazuya" according to the trailers
In my opinion I think Jin blindly sees the Devil Gene as the cause of all the evil and tragedies in the world, yet I believe his judgement is clouded by his own trauma.
In Tekken Bloodline, Heihachi makes Jin thinks that Ogre attacked Jun and her son because the entity felt the power of the Devil gene inside of Jin (yet we know Ogre especially seeked strong powerfull opponents, and Jun was one of them). Who know if Jin weren't fed the same lies and semi-truth by his grand-father in canon ? And on top of that Tekken Bloodline also showed us Jin learning a lot of negative things about his father, from crimes Kazuya committed between Tekken 1 and Tekken 2 and which were listed, Kazuya being called a demon by Heihachi himself, and Paul Phoenix confirming to Jin that Kazuya was “a real bastard” for whom “winning wasn’t enough, he had to hurt”. again, who know if Jin hadn't learn those things during Tekken 3 and before Tekken 4.
And then in Tekken 5 after seeing Jinpachi possessed by an world threatening demonic evil entity, Jin once again came to the conclusion that the Mishima's blood was truly a world level dangerous curse that the world would be better off without. What Jin didn't know though, is that the demon who possessed Jinpachi had nothing to do with the same Devil gene that both Kazuya and Jin carry, and he was unaware that the devil gene wasn't actually a the Mishima's curse, but the Hachijo's curse.
And Jun made the mistake of never telling Jin about Kazuya. As a result, Jin developed the idea that his father was born monstrous, perhaps without knowing that it was Heihachi's horrible actions that led Kazuya to the path of evil, and that with more tim with Jun's influence, Kazuya may have been able to find salvation for his soul.
Jin thus cannot see that the true causes of all the tragedies surrounding his life don't specifically come from the existence of the devil gene, but rather from Heihachi's ambitions and own violent and abusive actions toward his own family.
Had Heihachi not weaponized the Zaibatsu mishima and imprisoned his own father to let him die, Kazumi would not have let her duty and mission trump her feelings towards her husband, who had indeed become a srious threat to the world through his actions (especially if the intro of Tekken 8 does indeed imply that The Zaibatsu Mishima may have been the origin to the loss of other exorcist clans which protected the world against demonic threats). Without Kazumi's death, Heihachi would not have thrown his son off a cliff, without which Kazuya would not have become the demon man that he is, without which Jin would not have been born in circumstances conducive to his development of the power and influence of the Devil gene within him.

Till the End of the Moon, ep 30
Some of this episode’s timeline was a hella confusing for me? How old is Fuya?? How is she the little girl that Susu saved 500 years ago? She became immortal?
RIP braided hair Tantai Jin
I appreciated the lightness of this episode. It’s a nice change of pace from the past few angsty ones.
I’m not clear if Tantai Jin “remembers” his alternate life as the Devil Lord or if that is just part of what Susu showed him.
I am curious as to what the bow did to him - did it recognize him? Like does he still have the Essence of Evil Bone™ or something?
Susu also remembers everything but I do wonder her punishment was for.
Pang Yizhi?? He is the Immortal Buxu?
Lots of talk about memories, trapped in the past and learning to let go with this episode .
Pretending to be Zhi’er was a great kindness Tantai Jin shows the old woman. And he gets to feel a mother’s love. She gives it to him, though she knows he’s not her son.
Which is why I think he opens up to her, about his past and Susu.
He knows that with the power if the Devil Lord, he can find Susu but she would hate that. So the old woman tells him he has to fulfill Susu’s wish.
He figures out what he needs to do to grant the old woman’s wish (to have the plum tree bloom because she is trapped in the past). He’s able to use the sword to do that for her, and he genuinely grieves her when she dies.
Tantai Jin gets accepted into the Xiaoyou Sect and has a new name - Cang Jiumin, which I guess has a specific meaning that we’ll learn later.
I also think that Zhaoyou knows precisely who Tantai Jin is, thanks to Pang Yizhi
Zhaoyou feels like the father that Tantai Jin never had and desperately needed.
Tantai Jin is really not sure of the Nanzhi sword though.
Honestly, the Xiaoyou Sect is just what Tantai Jin needs right now.
Susu thinks that Tantai Jin just got on with his life but doesn’t realize that he was looking for her for 500 years while Ye Qingyu pretended to be Tantai Jin.
The Evil Bone™ is still around and Susu thinks she has to forget Tantai Jin order to fully seal it? I’m not super clear on that part.
However, Susu cannot forget Tantai Jin. She’s literally practicing the Heartless Way. Tantai Jin is her love suffering. Finally she can admit to loving Tantai Jin now that she thinks he’s dead.
Interesting that Gongye also sees that Susu is not the same person just as Xiao Lin did with Ye Xiwu.
THEY WERE ENGAGED?!? Mind blown. I feel so dumb because all this time I thought Gongye was her LITERAL brother, and not just her Sect Brother.
Yeah, this triangle not gonna happen.
The demon twins have been looking for the, uh, Devil Fetus for 500 years.
Also RIP Baiyu, if you had to die, you deserved a far more epic death than the one you got.

C117: BUG
I Have to Be a Great Villain - Masterpost
(Note that author also put out a mini-chapter 116.5 which is just diary entries, but I'll translate that later.)
Author's 木火然 Weibo post:
Tumblr media
Translation: I sincerely invite everyone to look at the Demon Clan Wang Yi (not really). There's a lot of plot with this arc, wrote myself to death with it, there'll probably be plenty of dialogue going forwards!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Qin Xian's dialogue bubble gets blurry)
Qin Xian: Disciple…
QX: Disciple.
QX: Disciple!
Wang Yi: ?!
WY: Master…? What happened to me?
QX: Disciple's true qi suddenly turned chaotic during breakthrough and Master couldn't call you awake.
WY: (I seemed to have seen something ominous just then. What invading army? And there was a mountain of corpses…)
QX: !
QX: (Why would he see hallucinations in his inner consciousness? Is it the beginning of cultivation deviation, or the awakening of an unusual bloodline?)
WY: Then…am I all right like this? Will it be like the book where the disciple had a troublesome secret for the Master?
WY: (These strange visions appeared in my childhood too.)
QX: …..
QX: It won't. Is there anywhere else you're uncomfortable?
S-0: ……
S-0: (Huh, are these signs of the villainous supporting character showing themselves?) <- *misunderstood*
S-0: [The original villainous senior brother Immortal Sovereign Wan Yi* did have a bloodline from the demon race. Otherwise, he wouldn't have rebelled during the Daoist-Demon War in the latter half of the story.]
*Immortal Sovereign Wan Yi is Wang Yi's daoist name
S-0: (Thank goodness Host's memories are sealed. If his brain was running off like a train and the Sword Saint, [slaughterer of all demons under heaven], read his mind, the story would end just like that.)
???: Sword Saint Qin?
???: You're Sword Saint Qin, right?
QX/WY: ?
???: As expected.
[Luo Wenliu - Protagonist shou of Defying the Gods, originally expected to show up one year later.]
Luo Wenliu: I am the sect leader's new disciple Luo Wenliu. I have the ability to divine Heavenly secrets.
LWL: Hurry and get away from fim. Your disciple Wang Yi—
*uncorks*
LWL: —is a snake demon!
S-0: (WTH?!)
S-0: [Isn't the protagonist shou Luo Wenliu supposed to join the sect a year later after being noticed by the Sword Saint?]
S-0: (Why did he show up early?)
S-0: (He even knows about Wang Yi's demonic bloodline, as if he just showed up to tattle.)
S-0: [Could it be another transmigrator? Let me connect to the other System to see…]
-SYSTEM FOUND…- *zzzap* -SEARCH RESULTS SHOW NO EXISTENCE OF OTHER SYSTEMS.-
S-0: ?
S-0: (What was that just then, me seeing things? Strange, I thought it found something, but it suddenly disappeared.) [Refreshing it is useless too.]
S-0: Could it be…
S-0: An actual world BUG—appeared? (That's way too much of a coincidence!)
LWL: That there, it's a bit sudden, but after divining the results, I came to find you straightaway.
WY: *hisses in pain*
LWL: Although you might not know who I am yet.
S-0: (In any case…)
S-0: (Since the Main System is here, I have to report it.)
LWL: But I can tell you lots of things only you know, so please believe m e.
QX: Oh. *turns away emotionlessly*
LWL: Sword Saint, believe me! *darts in front*
LWL: Disciple genuinely wants to help you.
LWL: Because…
[I lived a lifetime in this world…]
[But for some reason, regressed to Heaven's chosen one as a child.]
LWL: I…regressed?
[With memories of my previous life intact.]
LWL: Then can I find my lovers ahead of time and stop the Daoist-Demon War?
White cat: Meow~
LWL: Because disciple has divined that disciple is—
LWL: YOUR FUTURE DAO COMPANION!
QX: ("Regressed"?)
QX: Little friend*, please don't lie.
*little friend - 小友 xiaoyou, common way for Daoists to refer to well, acquaintences and stuff,  like "kid" or "fellow"
QX: Let's go, he's probably not telling the truth.
*WY grabs his wrist*
QX: ?
QX: What is it, disciple?
WY: Ah, sorry.
WY: I grabbed on without realizing it.
WY: (Eh?)
WY: (What was I thinking about just then.)
WY: (My chest suddenly feels tight after smelling the wine in that child's hand.)
WY: (As if something important…was taken away by someone.)
FLASHBACK
Qin Xian (X): Apologies, this is the only way to get you back.
QX: Don't blame me.
BA-THUMP–
LWL: Hey, did you guys hear what I say? Sword Saint, you're being tricked by him!
LWL: Senior brother Wang has the blood of the snake clan, he'll definitely betray the sect and you in the future.
LWL: This gourd holds realgar wine capable of forcing the snake demon to reveal its true form. Senior brother's obviously affected by it, doesn't Sword Saint get it yet?
WY: Urk—
QX: Disciple?
QX: Little friend Luo, please close the lid of the wine.
WY: Hahhh— hiss—
LWL: ….!
LWL: Sword Saint…no way, right?
LWL: Aren't you supposed to slaughter all demons under Heaven?
LWL: Didn't you say you liked me the most?
LWL: Was it all a lie?!
QX: (You're the one who can't tell human from demons.)
QX: (Forget it, since it's Wu Zhen's disciple, I'll leave the discipline to him.)
LWL: ?!
LWL: Sword Saint, please wait!
LWL: As long as Sword Saint speaks a little longer with this disciple, you'll understand my good points and who's truly treating you with sincerity.
LWL: Disciple believes that Sword Saint Qin has a righteous mind to see right from wrong.
LWL: So I'll follow you from now on until you see Senior Brother Wang's true nature, and severely punish the snake demon—
WY: You're so noisy.
WY: Snake demon this, snake demon that, there should be limits to what you say!
WY: When was it ever a little kid's right to tell Master what to do?
LWL: *startled!*
WY: As I see it, the one who's problematic—should be you, right?
WY: (Hahah, the pain's killing me. Why did the seal on my memories break?) [But there's no time to think, I need to assume my character role.]
Sword Sect's Disicple-Raising Diary (Pt. 4)
XX Year XX Month XX Day Clear skies, my disciple doesn't seem to have a rebellious phase?
Tumblr media
QX: *studying contents of book* WY: ZZzz…
XX Year XX Month XX Day I really think he has none.
Tumblr media
WY: ?
XX Year XX Month XX Day He does.
Tumblr media
WY: I grabbed on without realizing it.
