GYMNASTICS MEN’S TEAM FINAL COMMENTARY

SPOILERS IF YOU ARE GOING TO WATCH LATER THIS HAS SPOILERS. IT’S UNDER THE BREAK.

I literally put all of my thoughts while watching the events lol.

I’m pumped that the US is in the same rotation as Russia because it means we’ll see both of them a lot.

It’s so bizarre seeing Ukraine without Oleg :(

James Hall is a precious nugget who deserves all the happiness and medals ever

I honestly cannot believe that Dalaloyan is doing all the events. I hope his achilles survives so he can then go and dominate in the all around too

I love the US’s uniforms; it’s so sharp. And all the men’s unitards are infinitely better than women’s becaues they’re not tacky and sparkly.

Kitazono’s floor was SO CLEAN. But do people compare him to Uchimura like the announcers are saying? Because I’ve not heard that lol.

YEAH YUL. THAT POMMEL WAS AWESOME!!! 14.366 YESSSSS. WE LOVE BEATING QUALS SCORES.

Oooo Joe Fraser’s rings were great too! 14.5 damnnnn.

Sun Wei, you can do better than that on the floor, stick those landings!!! The fact that he scored so closely to Kitazono with all those mistakes is bullshit.

I love Belyavskiy’s one arm turn on pommels so much, it’s so smooth. I desperately want him to win the pommel’s final. 14.8 oh my word.

Xiao Ruoteng is my favorite male gymnast, I want him to get a gold medal for anything so badly. Not a bad floor, but not the best he can do.

Sam, baby, sweetheart honey, please do not keep messing up, get it together.

Whenever the announcers say “OOOO MISTAKE ON POMMEL” but they’re still just swinging and looking perfect, I have no idea what they mean lmao.

I’m here for Japan and China being super competitive and not high fiving or fist bumping each other. Maybe I’m just a bad sport, but it’s fantastic.

DALALOYAN’S RINGS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL.

The camera show when Dalaloyan flips into the maltese on rings was so amazing, just flawless. Absolutely flawless.

I appreciate it when the men shave their armpits, not gonna lie.

YEAH BRODY, THOSE RINGS OMG YES!!!! THAT LANDING WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! 14.1??? That’s some bullshit right there.

I do enjoy Petro Pakhniuk from Ukraine. Struggled on his fault, but all his one bar handstands on parallel bars are so beautiful, I wish more people did more one bar.

Xiao what was that pommel??? 14.1??? You’re better than that my dude.

One of my favorite things is the forearm flip to hands then slow up to handstand on my parallel bars. What that’s called, I have no idea. But I love it and it looks so cool.

Okay Nikita, that vault was flawless. Stuck Dragalescu...Jesus Christ lolol. 14.966....oh my god lol.

Brody that landing was SO CLOSE. SO CLOSEEEE.

YES BELYAVSKIY! So stunning, I love how he kips under the bars, it’s so cool and not many gymnasts do it.

Why does Sam always get a little sticky on the easy skills on parallel bars? He does the super difficult stuff flawlessly, but then fudges around on the easier ones.

Pablo Braegger is beautiful on floor! Those stuck landings are A+

Artur hitting his foot on the bar...hopefully it wasn’t his bad foot because damn. That has got to hurt so bad. His face when he finished was so sad, I just wanted to hug him.

Nigornyy’s high bar is boring. I said it.

Sun Wei, baby, what happened to your wrist??? And your parallel bars could have been so much better.

BRODY BEAUTIFUL HIGH BAR!!! WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!! THOSE PIROUETTES WERE STUNNING!!!

Belyavskiy’s German giants make my rotator cuffs hurt so badly oh my goodness.

Omg Xiao’s adorable smile and wave at the camera, he’s so precious!!

I love Yul’s floor so much, I wish he had more difficulty, but hopefully that’ll come. His landings are always amazing.
