i know it's early in the season but it actually feels like this is the least depth in an olympic year that the us has had in a long time? imo the only gymnasts who seem like strong olympic contenders at the moment are simone and shilese. almost everyone else in the running is inconsistent (skye), a big question mark (gabby, suni, jade, josc), or good but not great (leanne, kayla, jordan). i have no idea who's going to end up making the team but that's not necessarily a good thing this time!!

can someone remind me, is the Tokyo quad rule about individual event qualifiers via World Cup points still a thing? Like a country qualified for TF could still theoretically send an additional 2 athletes max (one nominative spot by winning the most EF points and another non-nominative spot?) And the non-nominative spot is via continental champs?
