The final fight against Benrey (Benry? IS THERE A SECOND E OR NOT???) seriously reminds me of the Omega/Photoshop Flowey fight from Undertale.

The first guy you meet on your whacky adventure betrays you (already having antagonistic vibes but still a bit of a shock) and then he suddenly grows very big because of a combination of eldritch powers AND a physical thing that he explained to you (SOULs for Flowey, passports for Benrey)

I thought of this because I was trying to add Passport Guardian to my Spotify playlist (but the song isn't even on Spotify so dont try) and then Finale came on.
