13 and Karl

“Karl!!” you scream out your boyfriend's name, running into his room to find him still sound asleep at 10:30 in the morning. 

“Babe!” you yell again, jumping onto his bed and bouncing a few times for good measure. You watch impatiently as the older boy's eyes slowly flutter open, confusing adorning his tired features. 

“Hmm?” he hums out sleepily. 

“I got Taylor Swift tickets!!” you screech, shaking Karl by the shoulders praying he finally snaps awake at your words. 

“What?” he murmurs instead. 

“I! Got! Taylor! Swift! Tickets!” You punctuate each word with a jump on his bed and the action finally gets Karl to sit up. 

“Please tell me this is not why you woke me up,” he groans and you pout. 

“Karl, I got 4 floor tickets to Taylor fucking Swift of course I’m waking your ass up!” 

“But the concert’s not for another year,” he pouts and flops back on the bed. 

“So, we better start turning you into a swiftie now,” you grin down at him and despite his tired demeanor, Karl cracks a wide smile at you. 

“Okay okay,” he relents.

He sits up again but this time wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you down into bed with him. You giggle against his chest and when you try to wiggle out of his grasp he shakes his head and tightens his hold. 

“I’ll become a certified Swiftie at noon,” he mutters and you snuggle into his embrace, glad you had such a ridiculously cute boyfriend. 

do you ever just write a fic and the plot gets away from you and now you have a whole 20 pages that doesn't make sense but also not ending yet??????

Thomas Andre/Lennart Niermann Au where Thomas met Lennart when he was young and still living in Europe with his parents and then they migrated to the US and Thomas who had been comfortable at one point then felt excluded in everything, got bullied, shit went down all through out highschool to the point where he became a ganster and in his last year he met Lennart again, the new foreing student in his class.

Thomas does remember some faint memories but Lennart is pure blank, black space completely because Thomas looks NOTHING like when they first met. And Lennart still has a cute pouty mouth and the german accent is giving him off a lot, he tends to have the same eating and homework habits as he did when they were young, were it not for puberty hitting him like a truck he would have been theliteral same child as before.

once again diving into the must-read dean-study time has come today by the phenomenal @urne-buriall​ and this paragraph is giving me brainworms of j*hn tying dean up and stranding him (maybe even faux kidnapping him first) in the middle of nowhere with coordinates where to meet once he frees himself bc such is the nature of their work dean needs to be self-sufficient he needs to be able to survive and not being old enough to legally drink or drive is no excuse 

Honestly? Did I want more from DTAMHD? Yes, I did. I wanted something signifying actual progression for Dennis' character (even just a crumb of genuine growth) , and I sincerely don't think we got that. However... we did get a fascinating insight into the process of his mind. Dennis' level of self-denial is so ironic and profound. He can't acknowledge the inevitability that he's middle-aged.

(I swear this episode honestly has given me an alt hc, that the show is based in his mind; because logistically, a man of his lifestyle and malnourishment could not commit the feats he is constantly sailing through. TGGB & DTAMHD... back-to-back? What happened to his hand? Did he even sprain it? Or is he just the most dramatic brat in the gang - clearly the latter.)

It is important to note that he didn’t fix the actual problem. He momentarily masked the symptoms, but ignore long-term help with blood pressure medicine is not going to fix the issue, nor is it going to protect him from fucking keeling over in a stressful situation (when he's not in a contained and quiet Doctor's exam room) and his blood pressure spikes.

I'm honestly a little jaded at this point (16 Fucking Seasons of crumbs, y'all), but if one were to continue 'trusting the structure' this episode conveyed a lot.

The B Plot: The pressure cooker. The metaphor parallels the building pressure Dennis quick-tempered bouts of rage. So, to toss out a little 'cat-in-the-wall' conjecture here: The pressure cooker is Dennis, but we all saw him eat that bloody diamond in the end and we all heard Mac's speech about coal turning into diamonds under massive pressure. Dennis' experience is a theory of pressure, he daydreams it all in the span of a minute or so. He's roleplaying with hypothetical obstacles. There's no risk. Maybe Dennis, isn't the pressure cooker, but the coal.

If I were to try and take anything hopeful out of this episode, it would be the way the narrative is showing us that this episode acknowledged that Dennis isn't ready yet. It's not his turn to break. It's going to take real, substantial pressure to get that diamond.

It was a hell of a misdirect (and honestly a little bit of a slap in the face), but if these characters live in the real world, where people are bound by the laws of mortality, then Dennis should have his time.

Genuinely, who fucking knows?

I'm not hating on the episode. We all know this is the trashy dick joke sitcom. I just thought that if Mac & Charlie could have moments of genuine heartbreak, culminating in deep catharsis, that maybe Dennis could have that too.... but no.

Can't wait to see the sunny dudebros miss the point & proclaim Dennis Reynolds - SA victim, traumatized individual with an emotionally tumultuous personality disorder - the new Andrew Tate.

I'm sorry, but yeah. I'm a little miffed. It was all a dream, and everything goes Dennis' way. Y'all I'm fucking tired. This was a great episode for Glenn, but a fucking frustrating episode for Dennis. I may have wanted a little macden, but all I cared about was seeing Dennis face the limitations of his mortality, to see that he's failing his body and his brain. He didn't have to actually take the medicine (I wouldn't expect him to), but Goddammit, everything seems to work out in his delusional favor. So, of course he's going to continue being delusional, and probably only change for the worse.

I'll say it: I wanted a broken Dennis, and we did not get that. He didn't even crack, the unbearble and apparently now canonical Golden God. That episode's title was intended to tease sunnyblr.

Excuse the plethora of tags. I just kept getting more irritated.

I thought getting 19 new comments on one chapter (when I’m averaging 15-16) would be a stretch, but technically I got 19 new comments! :O Just one of them was posted as a reply to me on another comment. So the numbers are mocking me, but I NOW HAVE 100 INDIVIDUAL COMMENTS ON THIS FIC!

Which is just blowing my mind. Most comments I’ve ever gotten on a fic by FAR, multichapter like this one or otherwise. Incredible T_T

i think abt the bedman n baiken relationship sometimes..

i keep seeing videos complaining about how ao3 is "so difficult" and "complicated", and constantly praising wattpad to high heavens, which only proves that everyone on tiktok is either 12 or tasteless

I had a dream where I think there was an event to celebrate 20 years since the fma 03 anime, and they showed these two trailers.

One was brotherhood based, it just felt like a clip show of the whole series but there might have been hints of a new ova or something at the end, definitely a few new scenes that got people excited.

But then the second trailer... It was presented with the same structure as the brohood one of an overview of the whole 03 series, but when it got nearer the end, things got different. There was a weird break where the Dante confrontation happens and lots of dramatic voice overs of the brothers calling for each other and alchemy things happening, and then it suddenly switched to a new animation style that was like a mix of 03 and brohood. Ed and Alfons were in the Amestris world this time. Ed looked a bit taller and was dressed like post-brohood Ed, and Alfons had slightly longer hair. The other military characters all seemed to be shown as if they were now civilians with no uniforms on. Mustang was shown the most, working on devices using fire alchemy to heat things. There was voice over of them having conversations about how long Al had been missing and Ed looking for him, playing over clips of Ed and Alfons looking around different new cities and I think what was Xerxes ruins? Some deeper voice asking "Do you know who that guy really is?" and showing clips of Alfons from different situations with various levels of suspicious or not suspicious expressions. Lots of random visuals with dramatic out of context lines. And then for the last clip it was Al looking very determined and about to fight a lot of things approaching off screen in some ruined looking place. He also looked a bit older than in CoS and wasn't wearing his Ed lookalike outfit.

Annoyingly I can't remember much more but it was definitely meant to be instead of CoS happening, maybe even a little later? I'd guess it was a retelling where Al's sacrifice sent him to another different world instead while somehow also giving him his body?? I'm so curious what was going on and what was Alfons's deal man I'm so mad by brain only produced a teaser
