I wish more people drew Sasha with his sunburn, or blush, whatever it is. I theorize it's sunburn because he has the pale complexion and cannot handle the sunshine at WR

This was the first music video I made using archival footage from archive.org, which is something I'd return to repeatedly afterwards. I wrote the song itself in 2019 using a recurring motif I'd been using in other songs since 2013, and (spoiler alert) the lyrics are vaguely supposed to be about using one "unhealthy" emotion to cancel out another, mainly the desire for the death with, at the time, what felt like an uncontrollable desire for love. I didn't have feelings for "Sasha Wolfe" at the time, who I now know as Lara Adelaide Henderson-Battad, but she hung out with me constantly and we played music and performed any chance we could so even though I had a crush on somebody else I think I somehow knew that someday I'd like her just as much, if not more so. I became suicidal again in 2021 when our relationship became complicated, and I think I might've made the video itself about her with odd motives like trying to let her know that, at the time, I felt like I couldn't live without at least her company (thus my feeling that the emotion was unhealthy.) I'm glad to say that I've settled down a lot since those years, as powerful "infatuations" used to dominate my life from the age of 11. Now I like to believe that I look forward with optimism.

Intro to Balancing Your Life || Morgan & Sasha
TIMING: Current
PARTIES: @sasha-r-blog & @mor-beck-more-problems
SUMMARY: Sasha drops in on a new class on campus; Morgan is only too happy to offer encouragements.
“…And who is it that determines the definition of humanity? What kind of definitions do we see offered by Victor, or Henry Cleveral, or the Creature?” Morgan asked the class. The students, while not thrilled with some of Mary Shelley’s ‘big words’ had enough preparation to offer semi thoughtful ideas. Obviously, Victor thought he could define what human means. One of her try-hard students, eager to please every adult in sight, posited that while Victor’s definition of humanity is the one that dominates the narrative, the intrusion of the creature’s perspective halfway through the book is meant to compel the reader into questioning its validity. “Yes!” Morgan tossed the kid a candy from her bowl. “The midpoint crisis here upends our expectations through thought, rather than action. It is, structurally, the center, the heart of the story, changing what we believe to be true. But, are we convinced by the Creature’s definition of his humanity? Why or why no–”
Morgan’s timer, the theme song of The X-Files, went off.
“Shit. Alright, that’s time everybody! Do your homework, do your reading, and get ready for Fan-Fiction Friday! And you–” She pointed to the newcomer sandwiched at the corner of the seminar table. “Come see me for a minute. The rest of you: glad you love each other, but please get out.” As the room cleared out she began to gather up her things. “I’ll level with you, I haven’t checked my roster, so I’m not sure if you’re a late add or just checking things out. But either way, I might be able to answer any questions you have better one-on-one instead of just looking at you across the room.”
Sasha watched the other students mingle and leave, a second of nervousness keeping her in her seat before the professor called out to her. It was hard to parse the tone in Professor Beck’s voice when Sasha’s immediate assumption at a teacher saying to “see me” was that she had fuck up somehow. But either way, Sasha walked towards the desk, dodging any curious looks from her exiting classmates.
“Um, hi. Sorry I didn’t mean to cause any trouble by sitting in.” She shifted the straps of her backpack, tugging them against her shoulders, as if the weight would somehow shield her from the awkwardness. “I’m Sasha Rodriguez. You gave me your office hours awhile ago. I uh, didn’t get a chance to visit but I saw your name on the winter session course list  and thought I’d check it out. I’m trying to branch out I guess.”
It took Morgan a few minutes to place the girl. She didn’t give out her school contact information to everyone, but it happened often enough that she had more than one name floating around her head. But the more she looked at her, the nervousness, the eagerness, the closer Morgan got to a hunch. “Oh, you’re the girl trying to figure everything out in college. I’m glad you decided to come by. If you’ve got some spare time, we can go somewhere and talk? I’d love to have you join in the spring, if you like what you’ve seen so far.” She dumped her books and laptop into her bag, and shouldered the load, handling the bulk with ease thanks to her strength. “Come on. Why don’t you start by telling me what you’re branching out from and what you thought about class today.”
“Oh, yeah, okay.” Sasha said as she moved to follow the professor. She still wasn’t used to how casual some professors could be. In high school they made it sound like professors were all strict, no nonsense, and unforgiving. And Sasha had certainly had professors like that during her first semester. But here was a professor throwing candy to students and cursing in class and talking about fan fiction. It was cool, but weird to process.
“I’m in computer science and I’ve only really taken courses in that department and math stuff. Oh, and also English 101, for the gen ed.” Those classes had been a lot different from what Sasha had just sat in on. Even the one English class she took didn’t really match up, that one having been run by an exhausted looking graduate teaching assistant who didn’t seem all that interested in teaching.
“The class was cool, though I feel like a lot of the stuff you were saying went over my head.” Sasha had a moment of internal panic, worried that came off as implying Professor Beck was bad at teaching. “I’ve just never been good at looking into books, but the class was interesting. I was surprised you mentioned fanfiction at the end. I didn’t think most professors even knew what that was.” Oh no, did that sound rude too? Sasha closed her mouth before she could say something dumb. Besides her advisor, if you could even count their meetings as conversation, and Ben, Sasha hadn’t really spoken one on one with a professor before. It still felt a bit surreal.
“Oh, that’s just because you’re coming in at the tail end of the course. I don’t throw my students into the deep end before I’m certain they can at least, you know, doggie paddle.” Morgan smiled good naturedly and lead them up to the main sitting area in the English building, setting her bag down carefully and making herself comfortable. “I can tell you that looking into books isn’t so different from the way you look into the stories in other media. Movies, TV, video games, comic books--our relationship to the stories we engage with say so much about what we envision for ourselves and the world. The more we understand and invest that relationship, the more empowered we feel to take control of our fate.” Morgan stopped herself from saying anything more and laughed, low and self deprecating. “Oh, jeez, don’t tell the other professors I said that. But, anyways, yes, the aforementioned reasons are what fan-fiction and other forms of counter-storytelling are so important. But more important than that is doing something that’s going to challenge you in positive, enjoyable ways. And making time for a little fun.” Morgan held her fingers up, like this much. “Can I ask how the rest of college is going for you, Sasha?”
Sasha followed her and sat in the unfamiliar sitting room. She gave a small smile as Professor Beck talked about stories and how people related to them, finding that she had been nodding along without realizing. She stopped once she did, somehow worried that it came off as over eager, as if a professor would ever get mad at someone being interested in what they were saying. If only the professor knew how close that hit to home for her. All those stories of kids getting superpowers, it was real. As if it had jumped straight off the page. As if Sasha had willed it into being. In the back of her mind Sasha wondered how she would have reacted to suddenly growing calls if she hadn’t grown up on comics and superhero movies. It felt like the blueprint to everything now.
Lost in her own thoughts she was a bit startled when the professor’s tone shifted. “No, no I agree, I think. I think all that stuff is important. Storytelling. I mean, I’m not much of a reader but comics and games and movies have been really important to me.” She wished there was a major in that stuff. Or crime fighting. She’d be on the dean’s list if her nightly patrols counted for credits.
“It’s been going okay. I mean, I don’t really do much outside of classes. I’ve been trying to do more but I mostly keep to myself.” It was the same thing she had told her advisor and Professor Campbell, but more and more Sasha felt silly for saying it. It wasn’t like she did nothing, just nothing related to college life. But it wasn’t like she could tell her professors she was protecting White Crest. Or at least trying to.
Morgan noticed Sasha’s interest and perked up at once. “You know, we do cover films in my class,” she said, grinning slyly. “And books. But still. It’s the same kind of thought process as with books, so it might as well be given its time and place. There’s plenty of other courses like that in this department, even a film and media studies minor. You should do what makes you happy, because undergrad coursework doesn’t matter half as much as you think it does. It’s all internships and jobs and connections and recommendations that help you get anywhere. And this place, college, has a lot of flaws and problems, but one of the best ways to make it worth it is leave knowing as much as you can about the things that matter to you most.” But that was about all the pitching she was willing to do on behalf of her class. Besides, being a student at UMWC came second to being a kid in White Crest. Morgan couldn’t help but look at the girl and wonder what this place would do to her. Morgan pushed the thought away, she couldn’t let herself focus on a big, bad future like it was some kind of unstoppable force.
“This might sound silly, coming from a professor who just tried to recruit you to their class, but I hope you do find other things besides school studies. There’s a much bigger world out there, and you should have something else in your life. At least friends and playing video games or going to Al’s at one in the morning or whatever kids your age do now. Life is for doing stuff, you know? Whatever it is you’re thinking about doing or joining, you should go for it!”
“I never really thought about taking a minor. I didn’t know they had one about film.” Honestly, more and more Sasha felt like she hadn’t planned much of anything when it came to school. Or life in general. But she supposed she could change that. If anything this talk had made her actually interested in looking into classes, something she had mostly breezed through doing in the past, simply checking off the boxes of what she needed for her degree. But if the professor was right and it didn’t matter that much... “Maybe I’ll try looking into classes for film and english and stuff like that. They seem fun. At least the stuff you were talking about seems fun.”
Maybe it would make school more interesting, instead of something Sasha went through the motions of to get to her real job. “Real job,” as being a superhero paid. As if she wouldn’t one day need a day job. College was a convenient way to pass the time and something she was told she had to do, but it would be nice to actually care about it, to feel like she was actually doing something.
“I do have hobbies...” Just none she could tell Professor Beck about. “But yeah, I should probably try to do more. I wanted to check out the library. I was supposed to help out with the comic collection there as a volunteer thing. So that’s a start I guess.” It had almost slipped her mind, but that was something she had been genuinely excited for. It was just hard to remember stuff like that during the day when she was normally up all night. Her nightly patrols had turned her days sluggish and uneventful, filled with quick naps between class and maybe some video games alone in her dorm before she put on her costume and went out again. And she loved doing it, of course she loved going out at night to keep White Crest safe. But at the same time...
“Do you ever just get really focused on one thing?” Sasha asked the question before she was thought about it, but decided to keep going, even if it was dumb. “Like, you have something you like or is important and you just focus on that and everything else just kinda blurs into the background?”  Sasha rubbed nervously at the back of her neck. “I don’t know if that makes sense. I guess sometimes I feel like that. But I don’t know if I want to change it.”
“The library is a great start!” Morgan said. “You’re going to learn so much, and probably find people who have similar interests to you when they come to check out materials. But I hope you do other stuff, not for credit, just for you. You’re only going to be young once--” Hopefully.
She couldn’t help but smile at Sasha’s notion, that hyper-focus was something rare or embarrassing. “Oh, all the time. I have some art projects that I do on the side, and I can get so lost in my carving that hours can pass by so easily. Same with baking, or cooking something really involved. It’s almost like you’re connecting to something else, outside of or beyond you. There’s you, the thing you’re doing, and this energy it gives you, right?” Morgan watched the girl’s expression to see if she was getting it right. “Even if it’s just kind of like that, I don’t think you should change it. Whatever that thing is, it sounds to me like the universe is giving you the green light to keep going.”
Sasha nodded, giving a small smile. She was happy that Professor Beck seemed to get it and not think it was weird. Sure, Sasha's focus wasn’t on crafts or cooking, but it was the thought that counted. Her mind lingered on what she said about being given a green light. Really, what was a bigger green light than getting her powers? But she knew there was more to it than that. There had to be a reason it was her. She had to be able to do something with her powers, something to really help people. It was comforting to have the professor say she was right, that the universe wanted her to do what she was already doing, but there was a pang of melancholy knowing Sasha couldn’t tell her, or anyone, the truth. How much did advice and validation matter when the person saying it didn’t know the full truth?
She shook the thought from her head. “Thanks. Sorry, I didn’t mean to ask you a bunch of weird questions when I came to sit in. I think it would be cool to try out one of your classes though if you still have room for students.” Sasha chased away the worry of struggling in a class she wasn’t used to. If worst came to worst she could always drop that class. At least it would be something new, something she might actually end up liking.
Beaming and unawares, Morgan took out a post-it from her bag and scribbled out the class information before handing it to Sasha. “Don’t be embarrassed about questions,” she said. “Questions are how we learn. You’re never going to find anything interesting if you always leave well enough alone.” She stood up, getting the vibe that Sasha had opened up all she felt like so far. “I hope to see a lot more of you this coming semester,” she said. “Hoping even more that you do something just for you, but.” She put a finger to her lips. That’ll just be our secret.
“Thanks. I’ll try to keep asking them.” Well that was one social interaction that didn’t go horribly. Wasn’t great that Sasha considered that a victory for herself but she was going to take the feeling of accomplishment anyways. “And I’ll try to do stuff for myself too.” That was going to take more work than just registering for a class, but maybe it wouldn’t be the worst. She couldn’t promise herself she would put in the effort though. Tucking the post-it note into her backpack she smiled and said goodbye to Professor Beck. Maybe a few new classes would be enough to make her college life, and her daily life, seem a bit more exciting and a bit less like time to just get through. But her patrolling White Crest at night was still more important. Professor Beck didn’t have to know that part though.

amphibia ending.... 😭😭😭 spoiler-y talk (mostly sashannarcy, the ot3) under the cut
the extended credits and post-credits scene. i wish i was able to see the extended credits after i finished watching the broadcast of it because it changes how i was thinking about the trio at the end
in my initial thoughts i was like. though it’s hard to see that they fell into other friend circles, it’s still obvious that they were friends, kept in touch, and were meeting up for anne’s birthday and stuff so. tbh it made sense (also especially with them going to high school (where one would usually change up friend circles and grow and change more) and with marcy moving away) and i could see how they would still grow into their own people, just not in the exact same tight-knit dynamic as before
it also makes sense to me as someone who’s maintained long distance friendships with people :’) and how friendships can look different and change, but it doesn’t change that we care about each other still, etc.
but with the post-credits scene... now i’m thinking more about how. in friend trios, sometimes it’s just... not the same to hang out when one of the three are missing, so now my hc is more that sashannarcy kept up a group chat and stuff constantly, or as much as they could as they got busier over time, but that’s also how/why sasha and anne (and marcy, wherever she moved to) made other friends outside of just their trio and hung out more (irl) in other circles
and they just don’t get as many opportunities to see each other in person and really catch up - maybe the last time was a few years ago by then?? and now they’re old enough to have a drink together and just catch up 😭😭🥺 and also get together b/c they’re in love, (like them having other friends outside of just them is a Good thing imo, and esp nice in the sense of. giving them a “i like my friends, but i like my childhood best friends that i’ve been through [all of amphibia] with together in a different way”)
i knew they were keeping it open-ended (with the trio) from that interview, but tbh. they did a good job of making it open-ended in a hopeful way? like there’s room for imagining a future ot3 without having to rewrite canon (since ppl can imagine and ship however, generally lol, with canon or not), and they give some nice hints with just. everything (like ig some of it was them not wanting to ruin how shippers see things (for pairs) but as a trio.... chefs kiss)
so ultimately. thinking about amphibia. lots of nice thoughts and reflections about just. friendships, in general (i’ve thought semi-recently about how i have a lot of friendship trios), and on growth and change and how friendships and relationships with other people change over time; the journey of self-love with anne; found family...
and also a great ot3 for me to revolve in my brain. i feel like i don’t often have ot3s but sashannarcy are truly. really well done imo. you can really feel how much the girls all care about each other, even through it all 😭🥺 (besides being a ship that has it all: friends to enemies to friends (to lovers), sword fighting each other, changing for the better because of the other, believing in the others and them being your light in the darkness.... caters to me and my tastes specifically actually)
it’s also nice to see how the others are doing in amphibia, even if v bittersweet knowing that anne and sasha and marcy can never go back or really get to see how they’re all doing (though there was technically a very small portal that one time, so tbh maybe it doesn’t have to be completely out of the question to get some little updates here and there, one day)
also yulivia canon :’) but rip to grimepop (LOL) (though unironically i think it’d be interesting to see sylvia and hop pop and grime interact as another trio, but that’s neither here nor there) (also how we had the divorce trio. lots of trios in amphibia and imo it’s quite purposeful, at least in the case of the divorce trio (trio gone wrong) vs sashannarcy (trio that doesn’t go wrong))
man. i want to rewatch it so i don’t have to deal with commercial breaks (they felt. So Long. and also v mood-breaking) but i don’t feel like i’m ready to rewatch it yet LOL. at least by the time i get around to rewatching it, the extended post-credits should be included in the video, which imo is just. the best way to end it all
the leitmotifs of all the girls was like. everything i wanted to hear (some kind of medley that goes through all the girls’ leitmotifs together), and then the very ending shot........... :’))))))) man. man
Tumblr media
the handholding. the blushes. drinks together. taking a new polaroid. the heart. anne has two hands. yea .
i also love seeing some of the crew’s doodles and fanart (now that they can share ones related to the finale) and like. the description of them being messy and in love is just. yeah. LOL. them
also canon bi sasha :’)))))) hell yea
as an aside. i rewatched the whole show leading up to the last two eps, and man, you can really feel the difference in how anne was at the beginning to where she is now 😭 her growth... also tbh. lots of fun to see all the references they made and have a little mental check of like, where they are then vs now
amphibia as a whole is just more lighthearted, and more humorous (compared to TOH), but for me it just. really stuck the themes of growth and change and friendship, taking it in as a whole/thinking about it after the finale (even if a part of those thoughts are me thinking about sashannarcy eventually getting together and figuring that out haha)
i’ll miss this funky lil frog show..............

I just remembered an old au from pre-PN2 that I drew-- I called it Adult Swap.
I have old notes about them, but nothing here is new. So here goes. My past notes from pre-PN2.
What I've got is that Fred and Sasha swap, Milla and Gloria swap, and then the last four just get shuffled around. Edgar is the coach who teaches basic training, Boyd does like every job and no one questions it, Morry is the guy outside of TT guarding it, and Ford is trying to get over past trauma on his own.
Here's a bit of discussion about the folks from WR in this au, though!
-All four are getting treatment for their problems.  -Also they're all dating in a big poly relationship.. because I can ship what I want.
FRED
is a friendly guy, but he can be rather intimidating thanks to his height (he's a tower in his own right) and he kinda vibes w/ David from Camp Camp. You know, overly friendly, naive, but a nice chap.
He still has the stupid hat. it's a gift from an old camper and he's not taking it off.
jack of all trades, master of none, but he really doesn't like to harm others if he can help it.
mostly uses telekinesis to catch things he drops or to catch himself when he trips
if he had to choose favorite campers, he'd say Dogen and Milka
His mind still has a portrait of Napoleon. He doesn't like to talk about it. Ever.
He comes across as a bit nervous, but he has good reason since he's almost died more than the others due to his unyielding stupidity loyalty to those he cares about.
GLORIA
Hair is a lot more swoopy, she's a lot more bright and kind, but she still falls into depressive states that take a while to get her out of it.
She's the second most grounded of the quartet, which is funny, since she's a levitation specialist.
She really wants to help Crystal and Clem, and knows what they're planning. She specifically takes care about them, and offers them more help.
Her mind is still a stage, with more of a backstage now.
Does plays with her students sometimes, doing her best to involve all of them, and she loves the campers a lot, though it hurts when she sees herself in them.
She calls them all her little starlets
She's the best at pulling Edgar back from one of his states, though Fred is a close second thanks to his nursing training.
EDGAR
He's called the coach, but he's really just a friendly fellow who wants to keep up with the students.
He teaches basic braining, and it's basically black velvetopia with a lot less bull, literally. The dogs are still there, they can fight other figments of his memory, but usually it's a very kind place, with people always willing to point the way for a bit of help.
If he had to choose favorites, he'd say Misha and JT, but he doesn't like to choose favorites.
He still paints, and decorates the whole camp for holidays. Any holidays.
He also has a bullfighting cape in his mindscape, and he loves it.
He does not do what Morry does. I don't know the plot of this au but none of these four are going to harm their partners and that is final.
Specializes in psy-blasts, but he prefers to leave teaching that to others, as he has issues with getting his emotions back under control.
He's the best at talking to Napoleon in a way he understands, and also he can give a very, very rough translation of the french from his knowledge of Spanish, so he tends to have to help when Fred gets into a rough situation where Napoleon has to front for him.
He helps with Gloria's plays behind the scenes, and does a lot of repair work with Boyd too.
BOYD
He does about 15 bajillion jobs around Camp Whispering Rock
I'd be lying if I didn't say his specialty was pyrokinesis
His favorites are his fellow pyrokinetics.
If he gets startled, he will almost always light something on fire as a reaction.
He doesn't have dark circles under his eyes because he can sleep now!!
Boyd's head is still a twisting, turning, mess... But it's fractured into fragments, thanks to everything that happened on one of their missions. (Remember: I made this pre-PN2.)
Boyd is the best when Fred is out of commission, and he does his best as a sort of second-in-command at camp, even though he's a bit messy and almost always has a few burn marks on his clothes, hats, or nearby tools.
Now for the folks from this version of Thorney Towers!
Out of these four, you'd usually see them in the order of Morry, Milla, Sasha, Ford. Crispin and Loboto still have the exact same roles and personalities because I couldn't bear the thought of anyone else having to take Crispin's place, and Loboto is perfect for his role. Here are some notes about them in general before I again ramble: -It mostly goes off of the same problems that they have in-game, just brought to much worse conclusions thanks to Shaky Claim being awful. -You get the straitjacket from Sasha, metal tongs from Ford, and a picture of Loboto from Milla for the disguise. -Sasha and Milla are still in love. Because I ship 'em. Shh.
SASHA
His glasses were broken ages ago, making it hard for him to see
He used to be a psychiatrist who used puzzles as his personal favorite thing to do. However, when he left Crispin alone with his puzzles, Crispin, being the worst, stole one piece from each puzzle, destroying it.
He stares at the sky a lot.
Very dull colors
His mind is full of puzzles and trying to put the right pieces together, having to do things in the correct order to push giant pieces into place to continue.
He keeps lashing out at others, but it's mostly because he can't see much, feel much, or do much since he's trapped in a straitjacket and in his own mind.
shoes and his childhood trauma do occur a lot
Crispin makes fun of him for being a doctor and yet being the most broken now
none of his shoes (the two on his shoulders or those on his feet) match.
MILLA
She basically broke after what happened at the orphanage.
Lots of fire, lots of panic, lots of nightmares to fight
There are what seem to be ghosts of children walking around, running around, laughing and playing
Her hair hasn't been taken care of in ages
Her clothes are still burned, and she refuses to give up on seeing her children around. Raz helps her to return to reality, and she and Sasha hold hands at the end, burying her face in his shoulder when Morry burns it all down.
her picture is something she believes to be from her children before she comes to her senses
Music is playing throughout, and playing it helps her to return to her senses. maybe an emphasis on violin/nero playing violin while rome burns?
MORRY
Fam, we all know what happened to him.
his getting close to the rabbit. him being rejected over and over. its all a comedy of errors and it drove him mad in canon, in this au it just didn't get helped either.
he sees raz as a bunny and tries to help him, but refuses to let him in because that's where he thinks the butcher is
it's a lot like basic braining is in canon tbh
lots of things seem weird, and there's an inner soldier that's hidden deep, deep inside, behind a fight against the butcher. it's hard, but it does help him in the end. soldier is his milkman tbh
there are a lot more rabbits in his mind, trying to lead you astray from the right path.
FORD (Please remember, pre-PN2!)
Yet again, we know what happened. the psychic duel
In this it's just a physical fight that still nearly killed him and nearly ruined his entire life.
this time it's full on DID instead of just different roles at camp
The different parts of his mind have keys to other parts, and it's a maze of doors and the like
He's trying to make the perfect burger, just stuck trying over and over as each personality argues how to do it until it's burned again.
He hands over the spatula once he does it, and he just sits on the edge, eating the burger, wondering why any of them stay in Thorney Towers
The plot would not include any of them being actually bad people. It would likely be that there’s bad guys actually trying to use these kids, but they don’t know them that well. And so they hire Loboto to take the kids’ brains, and accidentally involve some pretty heavy issues. Though it might be that Crispin’s part of the final boss fight, idk. That whole plot thing is still super up-for-debate, y’know. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas about them, feel free to ask me stuff!

I've woken up and am still thriving from the Main Event WHEW
Sasha may be 0-6 at Mania but she is truly, in every shape, way, and form, Miss WrestleMania, no doubt in my mind there.
She's one of the best workers in WWE and no doubt a future Hall of Famer. Seeing her smiling post-match because she simply couldn't help but be happy for her friend and co-worker was fantastic.
Hopefully WWE realizes that she's definitely someone who should go on to Main Event Mania again someday.
And Bianca !!!! She's only been wrestling, what ??? Five years this year ??? And I know a lot of people rag on the PC (I'm one of them) because it REALLY is hit or miss on how well they train their talent, but Bianca is an ATHLETE. I'm quite positive she could have gotten the worst training in the world and still would have become the amazing wrestler she is today.
This woman went from being shoved to the side just a year ago to focus on Charlotte in NXT against Rhea, to having her first proper, 1 on 1 WrESTleMania match in the MAIN EVENT where she WON.
I'm genuinely so glad WWE never gave up on her, because we've seen time and time again that they'll get high on a talent and then lose interest not too long after. But not Bianca, her star shined way too bright, and when it collided with Sasha's... History !!! Making !!!!!
Anyways the point is I'm emo over this and I love wrestling but ESPECIALLY Women's Wrestling. Sasha and Bianca proved they deserved that Main Event spot, even when booking was working against them. Total legends.

Yuri!!! on ice as irl skaters (part 1???)
Its 2020 and I miss yoi so here are my personal headcanons about which irl skater the you cast skate &/or act like because why the hell not.
(photos at the bottom of the post because I couldn't get the format to work the way I wanted it to)
Yuri Katsuki ➡️ Boyang Jin (China)/Evgenia Medvedeva (Russia)
Yes, 2 people because PARALLELS.
So my reason for saying Yuri is like Boyang is because, his step sequences are always gorgeous and his jumping power, oofttttt, and that one scene where Yuri tries a jump and lands in the wall, you know the one. Boyang Jin is known for jumping super close to the boards and scaring the hell out of us all, seriously, just watch one of his skates, it's amazing and terrifying. Also Boyang is a bit of a nerd and Yuri is canonicaly pretty into video games, nuff said.
Boyang is a two-time World bronze medalist (2016–2017), the 2018 Four Continents champion, a two-time Four Continents silver medalist (2016, 2019), the 2017 Asian Winter Games silver medalist, and a five-time (2014–2017, 2019) Chinese national champion.
Evgenia however, this is more of a parallel in how her 2018/19 season went and how Yuri kinda flopped. Zhenya had a crappy start to the 18/19 season, she'd just switched coaches and mover halfway across the world, for the 1st time in her senior career she didn't make the gpf. However by the end of the season she had bounced back and won bronze at worlds and my god what a skate that fp was. Remind you of anyone huh???
Evgenia has a lot of medals (and actually made a cameo in the end credits of episode 10) She is a two-time Olympic silver medalist (2018 ladies' singles, 2018 team event), a two-time world champion (2016, 2017), a two-time European champion (2016, 2017), a two-time Grand Prix Final champion (2015, 2016), a two-time Russian national champion (2016, 2017), silver medalist at the 2018 European Figure Skating Championships and bronze medalist at the 2019 World Championships. Also, she is a huge Anime fan and has a sailor moon exhibition program and its adorable.
Victor Nikiforov ➡️ Yuzuru Hanyu (Japan)
I know a lot of people compare Yuri to Yuzu but I think Victor is a better fit.
Yuzuru has a legion of super duper dedicated fans, they are pretty scary at times. If you watch the 2018 Olympics, the ice literally was covered in Pooh bears after his skate. People love this man, and rightly so. Clearly Yuri isn't the only one who loves Victor, he's very popular in the yoi skating world and almost everyone loves and looks up to him.
His skates are almost immaculate every time. Not only is his technique amazing but his artistry is what really sets him apart from other skaters who may have higher bv on jumps etc. Not that he dosent have high bv, seriously he tries combos that are super wierd just for the bv (see the wierd 4t-3a combo thing he does idk). Plus he's dead set on doing a quad axel. See Victor's super high bv with all the quads and also the fact everyone goes nuts over how his skating is 'like no other'.
Also his medal collection is absolutely mad, he is a two-time Olympic champion (2014, 2018), two-time World champion (2014, 2017), four-time Grand Prix Final champion (2013–2016), Four Continents champion (2020) and three times silver medalist (2011, 2013, 2017). Just like how Victor is canonicaly an Olympic champion and 5x world champion and probably many time euros champ.
Also, he's a sweetheart, he literally crawled behind Shoma Uno because he didn't want the attention taken away from Shoma. I love him.
Victor Nikiforov gives big Yuzuru Hanyu energy.
Yuri Plisetsky ➡️ Yulia Lipnitskaya (Russia)/Alexandra Trusova (Russia)
Again, 2 people.
It's canon that Yuri P was modeled after Yulia for the flexibility and artistic portion of his skates so I feel like I don't need to elaborate much in it however his determination and his wanting to back load with quads reminds me a lot of Sasha Trusova.
Sasha only started juniors the year after yoi came out (she had a Makkachin tissue box which was given to her by Evgenia M which is adorable) so she was not really that popular when the show was being made but she really made a statement when she became the 1st woman to land 2 quads in 1 program (4 salchow and 4 toeloop) at the age of 13 at 2018 junior worlds.
She has just started senior and this season she had 5 quads in one program and I think I cried. She now has a quad sal, toe, flip and lutz and is apparently working on a loop. On top of that she can land a 3 axel but has yet to do so in competition. Did I mention SHE'S 15 AND I'M TERRIFIED.
She currently holds the world record for the free skate (166.62 points). She is the 2020 European Bronze Medalist, the 2019 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, the 2019 Skate Canada champion, the 2019 Rostelecom Cup champion, the 2019 CS Ondrej Nepela champion, the 2019 Russian national silver medalist, and the 2020 Russian national bronze medalist.
Her determination to win and high TES reminds me of Yurio a lot.
Phichit Chulanont ➡️ Nam Nguyen (Canada)
This one is fun.
I love Nam with all my heart, he's actually my favourite male skater and not just because of his skating. However his skating is great. He is the 2014 World Junior champion, 2019 Skate Canada silver medalist, and two-time Canadian national champion (2015, 2019). He has placed as high as fifth at the World Championships, in 2015. He's not the best skater ever, kinda like Phichit but his personality shines through so much when he skates and I love it.
My main comparison to Phichit is the fact that Nam Nguyen is a huge meme. His Instagram is one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen (@ namnamnoodle). I can't explain it with words seriously just go look at it, he makes memes using professionnally taken skating photos of himself and honestly it's just a giggle. He's almost always posting on his story and half the videos he takes end up on fan twitter and everyone freaks out.
Also he's good friends with Evgenia, thought I'd mention that seeing as who I compared her to :)).
Yeah, Phichit and Nam are memes and I adore them both.
Jean-Jacques Leroy ➡️ Nathan Chen (USA)
Jj is definitely more of a technical focused skater. He tends to put all his eggs in the '800000 quads' bucket and isn't as artistic, in my humble opinion.
Just like Nathan surprisingly, though Nate isn't as egotistical (not a dig, just an observation).
Nathan is compared to Yuzu a lot, and had actually scored higher than him a few times in competition. He is an amazing jumper and is the first skater to have landed five types of quadruple jumps in competitions: toe loop, Salchow, loop, flip and Lutz. Currently he is two-time World champion (2018, 2019), a 2018 Winter Olympic bronze medalist in the team event, the 2017 Four Continents champion, three-time Grand Prix Final champion (2017, 2018, 2019), and four-time U.S. national champion (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020).
So yeah, he's good.
However at the 2018 Olympics (he was only 18 at the time) he bombed under pressure in the team event and in the sp, only to come back with a WR free skate, but didn't medal because of his sp score, kinda like how Jj bombed at the GPF. (Ngl, I cried in school when I saw Nate bomb at the Olympics, I was so upset).
Also, Nathan is super smart and is training to be a doctor. Not related to Jj but I thought I would point it out.
Christophe Giacometti➡️ Adam Rippon (USA)/Javier Fernández (Spain)
Chris is a hard one to pin to an irl skater because he's just so... Chris.
The closest comparison I can get is Adam Rippon but dialed up to 11 because Adam is quite a bit more tame than Chris is. However he did have a point in his sp where he literally beckons the judges to him in a way that can only be described as vaguely sexual. Seeing that at the Olympics was an event I'll tell you that.
Adam was the first openly gay man to make a U.S. Winter Olympic team, and the first to win a medal at the Winter Games. (team bronze).
Plus, I'm pretty sure he owned a Chris plushie at one point or another.
However other than the obvious Chrissness, his technique and medal winning achievements most closely match up with Javier Fernández (who may I add is pretty much Yuzuru Hanyu's best friend). He is the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World champion (2015, 2016), a two-time World bronze medalist (2013, 2014), a seven-time European champion (2013–2019), a two-time Grand Prix Final silver medalist (2014, 2015), a three-time Rostelecom Cup champion (2014–2016), a two-time Grand Prix in France champion (2016–2017) and an eight-time Spanish national champion (2010, 2012–2018). Javi is an amazing skater but usually ended up playing 2nd fiddle to Yuzuru on the world stage, but with euros, he literally won 7 times consecutively. Anndddd, he was the flag bearer for Spain at the 2014 Olympics and I still cry about it.
Otabek Altin➡️ Denis Ten (Kazakhstan)/ Matteo Rizzo
So it's canon that Otabek was based on Denis (rip Denis) so like Yuri and Yulia I do not feel like I need to elaborate much as you can read it on the wikia page. But Otabek also reminds me of a less talkative version of Matteo Rizzo. Matteo is the 2019 European bronze medalist, 2018 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, 2019 Winter Universiade champion, and 2018 Italian national champion.
The reason he reminds me of Otabek is that they just joth exude the same level of cool and I can't explain it any further than that. That's it. Just watch him skate and you'll see.
So that's all I have for now because this post got pretty long so if this gets enough attention I'll do a part 2 :)).

Some positivity
Okay, real talk for a moment: To my own surprise, watching the NHK Trophy actually did spark joy for me. Despite the judging being absolutely awful (especially to Rika - I really cannot stress that enough - but also to Yuzuru), there were so many beautiful things to be happy about here:
- Yuzuru Hanyu, Rika Kihira, Sui/Han, Kevin Aymoz and Alyona Kostornaia all qualifying for the final - which means I’ll see them all live in two weeks and for the first time I’m actually starting to feel super excited. It’s hard to feel too upset about awful judging when you suddenly realize you’re going to see so many amazing skaters live soon! (Especially Yuzuru - seeing him compete live is on my bucket list, and the main reason I decided to get tickets for the final.)
- Yuzuru not getting injured during the GP season for once. It needs to be said.
- Yuzuru and Rika’s beautiful free skates today. Both of them were so good, just made me feel happy to be watching, and reminded me of what I love about this sport. The two skates of the day for me, definitely.
- Rika flawlessly landing all three of her 3As in the same competition. It was about time!
- Both of Rika’s new outfits. I liked her other ones, too - especially the light blue/turquoise one for the free - but these new ones are also so pretty!
- I haven’t had the time to watch Pairs yet, but I heard Sui/Han were amazing and set a new WR in the short - I’m definitely looking forward to catching up on that!
- Kevin Aymoz’ reaction to realizing he made the final.
- Alyona Kostornaia’s two beautiful performances, especially the short program. I feel like the judges are trying to keep me from fully enjoying her skating - but she really is amazing!
- Alyona becoming the top qualifier for the GPF and almost breaking Alexandra Trusova’s WR for the highest total score. While I can’t say I agree with how Alyona was scored here, it makes me happy to at least know she has a very realistic chance against Sasha. and makes me sadder to know that in a fair world Rika would also have that chance
- Mako Yamashita finally skating clean again!
- Yuhana Yokoi’s amazing free skate.
- Sergei Voronov proving all of those “older skaters should retire” people wrong by placing 2nd in the short progam.
- Boyang Jin still qualifying for the GPF despite a 6th place at SkAm just because so many other men messed up so badly. I mean, that’s just insane.

Grand Prix Final: Ladies Free
Wow. I have to congratulate the 3A (and Rika) here for going for such immensely difficult technical elements and succeeding. This is the future of ladies figure skating and I am here for it! That being said, there were some strange mishaps in judging here that ought to be said.
1. Alena Kostornaia - RUS
Alyona really slayed here. The first 3A had a shaky landing but she added that +2T on anyways. The second 3A was amazing. Not only did it have a great landing, but it also had extraordinary height and distance, and also fabulous transitions in. I really love the first half of this program since “The Meadow” is a beautiful piece of music. I know Alyona wants to try new styles, but if she had a SP solely to “The Meadow” I would be so here for it. But even though I hated this program at first, I’ve grown to love ALL of it. Alyona has so much fun with it, and she shows so much charisma and personality once the music changes to “Supermassive Black Hole”, how can I possibly not love it? I used to think the step sequence was really slow, but now I kind of like it. The twiddles are done with such precision and beautiful positions. Lastly, spins were amazing as always, and I really love this costume. I hate Twilight but this program is trashy, in a good way (100% because of Alyona not Daniil). Congrats on your well deserved gold and new WR!

2. Anna Shcherbakova - RUS
While I actually quite enjoy Anya’s SP, this FS is not for me. The dress change is spectacular, and the first half is actually quite nice and Anya portrays this “fairylike” character very well, but while I think Anya portrays the firebird quite well as well, the choreography falls flat. I think I’ve said this before, but the Firebird Suite is a large orchestral piece with many musical accents. If you are skating to the Firebird Suite you must use the musical accents or else it seems awkward. Daniil, for some reason, decided to ignore 80% of the musical accents, resulting in an awkward second half. Anya’s 4Lz+3T today was beautiful. The height and distance were both there and it looked rotated to me. Her rotational speed still amazes me. The 4F was unfortunate, but props to her for going for it. At this rate she’ll definitely land it by the end of the season. The second 4Lz looked UR even in real time, but the height and distance looked pretty good. The fact she was able to add a rotated +3Lo to a pretty shaky 3Lz just showed how confident and trained she was. I also have to complement Anya’s performance at the press conference. She was attentive and respectful, despite being fifteen years old and probably at her first big press conference.
Tumblr media
3. Alexandra Trusova - RUS
WOW! That 4F was amazing. And the transitions were so difficult as well! This is Sasha’s first ever time trying 4F in competition, and not only does she land AND rotate it, she does it with quality and a sense of effortlessness. Mad props. The 4S doesn’t seem to be working for her, but Sasha is a fighter and I am sure she will deliver a 5 quad program soon. The 4Lz was so effortless and nice, perhaps the technique is incorrect, but at least the jump has good height and distance and Sasha doesn’t even rely that much on rotational speed or overly muscled entrances to get the rotations. My favorite combo from Sasha now might be 4T+1Eu+3S (since 3Lz+3Lo doesn’t seem to be working for her). Not only is it performed in the second half, but the 4T has such spectacular height and distance. The last 4T was UR, but she was really close to landing it, so the possibility of 2 quads in the back half is growing much higher. Her step sequence seemed to be a bit better than it was at the GP stages. This program is still way to empty to be getting high PCS, but it does look like Sasha is improving her skating in the step sequences. I know this wasn’t the performance Sasha was looking for, but the fact that she was still all smiley after was so cute. I love how she doesn’t let “what could’ve been” destroy her happiness.
Tumblr media
4. Rika Kihira - JPN
The 4S didn’t work for her, but I have to applaud Rika’s consistency in her 3As. The second one was way off-axis and she landed it so beautifully and so effortlessly. If she was judged correctly, she honestly would be mighty close to the podium. I feel like Rika she hold back the 4S until she can consistency rotate it (which isn’t really happening, some attempts here and there are rotated, but as a majority they look UR). Her 3As look so beautiful she doesn’t need a quad yet. She won’t need one for Japanese Nationals or Four Continents anyways. I love the choreo sequence and the last 3Lo so much. Rika’s jumps as a general are very effortless and smooth, performed with quality and out of difficult transitions. I really don’t get how she got such a low score? And don’t even get me started on that 6.75 in TR.
Tumblr media
5. Bradie Tennell - USA
I don’t have much to say here. She did great, she performed clean, but why don’t I remember anything about that program other than “I LOVE CINEMA PARADISO SO MUCH”. I actually do though, the music is so beautiful. Again, Bradie has improved tremendously, but there’s still nothing particularly exciting about her skating. But, I loved her choreographic sequence, especially the spiral on the musical accent (Daniil take notes), and her 3F was beautiful as always. Her spins, again, are always extremely impressive, performed with quality, speed and flexibility. She is crazy underrated in that aspect of her skating.
6. Alina Zagitova - RUS
Today was not her day, but guys! Stop with the retirement talk. This is not what Alina needs to be hearing right now. I am glad Alina is finally getting UR calls, because I want her to have something to work on, and hopefully all her haters will finally shut up about Alina being overscored. Maybe her 3Lz+3T and 3F+2T+2Lo weren’t great, but the fact that she pulled them off despite scratchy landings and fatigue shows she is a great skater and a skater that will not give up. I think we ought to applaud that. Her step sequence was a little off, and I could see she wasn’t putting her heart into it, but her spins were still great. Alina is such an amazing skater and I believe she will gain her momentum back by RusNats and give us all a surprise. She looked pristine clean in practices after all. (I’m sad we didn’t get to see her amazing gala program)
Tumblr media
But also, the cuteness of that podium!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

A Promise and a Warning || Morgan & Sasha
TIMING: Current
PARTIES: @sasha-r-blog & @mor-beck-more-problems, feat. Dr. Carey
SUMMARY: Morgan meets her student for office hours, when they are interrupted by a colleague Morgan wronged in the past. And promise or not, he’s holding a grudge.
CONTAINS: references to past drug manipulation (leanan sidhe kiss)
For all her nervousness and self doubt about trying new things, Sasha’s choice to take Professor Beck’s had gone surprisingly well. Sure, she was struggling a bit with keeping up, but it helped that the class was actually fun. She had worried she would feel out of place in an English class when almost all of her classes were nothing but computers, math, and science. But the professor had been right about stories being engaging, even if Sasha didn’t know all the fancy English major words yet to talk about it.
But maybe it was a step in the right direction that Sasha had actually taken the initiative and asked Professor Beck if they could go over ideas for the classes next paper. Usually she just dealt with issues herself, or only sought out stuff when her advisor forced her to. Maybe it was a bit silly, but she felt a little proud of herself for it as she made her way to the English building lounge without feeling like she was going to get sick from anxiety.
When she entered there were a few others there already, but for the most part the space was empty. Still, Sasha couldn’t completely rid herself of the creeping sense of social anxiety as she entered the room and a few people turned their heads. She quickly sat down at one of the tables, placed her backpack in her lap, and rummaged through it for her class binder as she waited for the Professor.
Morgan couldn’t have felt more pleased with herself at recruiting Sasha to join her course. She found herself pretending that she hadn’t noticed some assignments come in late, but Sasha participated in class, and she had been proactive enough to ask for a meeting on her next paper. She walked briskly down to the lounge, happy to be free of her cramped shared office and get a glimpse of natural light while she helped her student out. She waved at the girl as she came over, taking care not to disturb any of the disassociating grad students from their reverie as she greeted her. “Hey! I’m, first of all, really glad you reached out. Second, I’m really excited to hear about your paper ideas. But, third, actually, why don’t you just tell me how you’re doing? I know you were kind of nervous the last time we really talked.”
“I’ve been doing okay,” Sasha smiled as the professor sat across from her. “I guess I’m settling a little more into school.” At the very least she didn’t feel like she wanted to jump out of her own skin when called on in class, or get all clammy walking through the commons when there were a lot of people there. Maybe superhero worries had left less room in her brain to worry about her daily life.
“Just trying to keep on top of things. That’s why I wanted to talk.” Well, maybe there was still some room in Sasha’s brain for school worries. The problem with being in a class with a professor she actually liked was now she didn’t want to let Professor Beck down. She shuffled through her notes in her binder, trying to find the ones on her paper topic.
“I know you mentioned we could have our paper use movie comparisons if we want but would an animated movie okay? I kinda want to compare coming of age themes with stuff in Into the Spider-verse.” Sasha didn’t see the movie as childish but she couldn’t help worrying that it came off that way to do her paper on it.
Mogan beamed at Sasha and took a peek at her notes. “I think that’s an amazing idea! There’s so many angles you can take with a piece like that. Coming of age is such a multi-faceted process. There’s struggles to conform to some preconceived ideal, coming to terms with your own power and agency? If you wanted to get really fancy, you could go back and look over the essay we read about reparative projects and think about how these ideas about coming of age speak to us right now. But, you know, it’ll definitely be an exciting project either way, Sasha. Were there any scenes you were really looking forward to exploring? That might help you find your focus.”
Before Sasha could respond, a familiar man stopped in the entryway of the lounge. Morgan went rigid, but said nothing. She hadn’t seen Doctor Ellis Carey since she and Lydia had crashed into his office. She’d made an effort to avoid his vicinity since that visit. No matter how low her opinion of him was, she hated looking at him, knowing what he’d suffered for her angst, for nothing. As Ellis lingered, trembling against his promise to act like nothing had happened between them, Morgan wondered how often he’d tried to pass near her.
Slowly, sweat rolling down his reddening face, he approached their table. He did not walk with his usual smooth, arrogant gait but staggered like a creature in a monster movie. His hands clenched with determination, and all the while his eyes stayed fixed on Morgan with a look of hatred.
“Please don’t do anything to hurt yourself, Doctor Carey,” she said evenly. “No one here wants that, including you, right?”
Ellis Carey tried to open his mouth in response but couldn’t seem to unclamp it despite his best efforts. He grimaced with pain.
The other students in the lounge began to look up from their work, watching the one-man situation unfold with morbid curiosity.
“Don’t...make...me...laugh,” Ellis hissed through clenched teeth.
Morgan winced and lowered her gaze. Sweat was dripping through his gray hair now. “Doctor Carey, I am with a student right now. And I think we’d both feel better if you took a walk outside.”
When Professor Beck grinned Sasha couldn’t help smiling back. She hadn’t thought her idea was that good, but hearing the professor explain all the ways she could go about doing the essay Sasha genuinely felt herself getting excited to write it. She went to open her mouth to explain her ideas for what scenes wanted to focus on, something strange happened.
Professor Beck’s whole demeanor changed. She was suddenly stiff, and Sasha followed her glance to see a man standing near the entrance of the longue. A professor probably, though Sasha had never run into him before. She rarely had reason to interact with many English professors. But as the sudden tension surrounding the woman across from her wasn’t weird enough, there seemed to be something seriously wrong with the man who just walked in. I looked almost like he was holding his breath, his face getting so red Sasha started to get anxious he might be having some sort of medical situation.
The man shuffled over and the cool way Professor Beck spoke to him as he stood there, sweating straight through his shirt and trembling, made the hair on the back of Sasha’s neck stand on end. What was going on? Sasha herself felt her body going tense with the sudden change in the room’s energy.
“S-should I get a nurse from the health center or-or call someone?” Sasha asked as she glanced between Professor Beck and the man. Dr. Carey looked on the verge passing out or something, but the venom in his voice put Sasha more on edge than any of his strange movements or appearance. She found herself unconsciously sinking back into her chair, making herself smaller, feeling as if she just walked into something very serious she was not meant to be privy to, even though she had just been talking with Professor Beck normally a few moments before.
“Dude, someone call the health center,” one of the students said, rising out of his seat. “Hey, do you have any medication you need to be taking, Professor?”
Blood rolled down Ellis Carey’s nose as he shook his head. He shuffled two steps further before crashing into the table they were sitting at. He turned his eyes to Sasha, bracing himself on his arms. “D-d-d-do…not…” he coughed. “Trust. Her.” He snarled.
“That is enough.” Morgan snapped her fingers at the worried undergrad. “Yes, call the health center. Doctor Carey is clearly experiencing some kind of...delirious...fever...thing!” Hastily, she shouldered her bag and stood up from her seat, so fast her chair wobbled. “Sasha, I’m sorry for this. Please email me with your questions or make another appointment o-or…”
“So you can hurt her too?” His words were slurred together, mostly nonsense vowels slipping over each other.
“No!” Morgan snapped, harshly enough to startle some of the students around them. “My conduct with my students is exemplary, thank you,” she murmured. “Sasha, I am sorry, but I think we should do this later.”
Don’t trust her. Sasha was so thrown off that it took her a moment to realize what Dr. Carey was saying. Don’t trust Professor Beck?
She fumbled with her phone, glancing around to see that at least two other students had their phone out, hopefully to call someone to help the man who was now bleeding as well as shaking and turning red. Sasha tried to remember the number for the campus health center and debated if a 911 call might be better at this point. But the Doctor’s words made her freeze up even more. Hurt her? Was he implying Professor Beck would hurt her?
Professor Beck’s response only put Sasha more on edge. “W-what are you talking about?” She wasn’t sure who she was asking at that moment. Her phone was forgotten in her hand as she looked between the two professor’s, Sasha’s other hand clenching and unclenching on her lap, claws itching to come out in defense even though there wasn’t even a fight. But the tension in the room felt like one could break out at any moment. Beyond the  painful medical situation Dr. Carey seemed to be having, there was a horrible anger in his eyes. Sasha wondered if he would have started throwing punches if he wasn’t currently so sick.
“What are you talking about?” She repeated. But even as she asked Sasha started rising to her feet at the request to leave.
Morgan hurried out of the lounge. “Nothing! I mean—I don’t know, but this is—” Her voice croaked from lack of air and she gestured nonsensically, too frazzled to know how to illustrate her point, too frazzled to be sure what her point even was. She drew in a deep breath, and exhaled. In, out. In, hold, out.
“I’m sorry,” she said at last. “I was caught off guard.” Most days she forgot Doctor Carey existed. He had a different specialty and he thought very little of her adjunct position, even when he wasn’t promise-bound to act like she hadn’t barged into his office and traumatized him. Most days, she wasn’t reminded by the sight of his hateful, tortured face. “Those are some very serious accusations to be throwing out wildly to someone you barely know.” Another measured breath. “I--I’m sorry that this happened. And whatever he meant by that, I want you to know that I would never do anything to intentionally hurt or endanger you or any of my other students.” Her good intentions hadn’t helped Blanche at all. Or Maxine. Morgan stiffened, grimacing. “I’m sorry, I think I have to finish this with you some other time, I hope you understand.” She couldn’t bring herself to look Sasha directly in the eyes and so fled down the hall without giving her another look.
As Sasha followed she was surprised by how frantic Professor Beck seemed. It put her on edge even more, seeing a teacher she had begun to look up to seems so deeply freaked out. Dr. Carey probably freaked everyone out in that room, but the way Professor Beck was shaken up felt different.
Serious Accusations. Professor Beck’s words echoed in her head. Outside of the lounge there was a moment to process Dr. Carey’s words without the look of his contorted, sweating face or the fear he might either pass out or lunge at any moment. And as Professor Beck rambled out an apology it didn’t put Sasha anymore at ease. If anything Professor Beck’s pointed denials made Sasha even more unsure of what to make of the situation. What to make of her.
All she had time to do was nod and watch the professor leave. She hadn’t realized how much her hands were shaking until after she watched her disappear down the hall. It was a mix of curiosity and genuine concern that made Sasha tentatively step back towards the lounge. She may not be the Claw right now but she couldn’t run away from someone possibly being hurt.
