Warp number 2. Only took 4 hours this time--just over half the time of the first warp. This one definitely went a lot smoother, and I'm happy with the arrangement.

Only thing is, I'm about halfway through the warp yarn I bought. So that's only going to be enough for 1.3 panels, and I need 3 total. And that was um. Over $100 of yarn. :/

Hopefully at least I can weave all of the first panel with the weft yarn I have.

Anyway, that's 2 of 3 warps for the first panel done. The new one is on the right. They look similar, which I'm happy with. Ideally the whole blanket will be cohesive, but I'm also hoping that close up there will be interesting bands and patterns--hence the orange and black/green and black stripes.

#this is why i dont buy yarn for my projects #this is mid level yarn !!! not even the Good Stuff !#a queen sized blanket in it is going to end up costing like $500 in materials #insane. glad its not for me #also this is making me excited to make blankets for myself out of my own handspun #which usually costs about $5 and many many hours per skein. and is levels of magnitude better than this $20/skein yarn #its decent stuff and washes up nicely but how the hell does anyone afford it #warping #weaving #woven blanket

I did it ! The last one only took an hour and 45 minutes, which is including fixing mistakes (I don't think ive ever done it without making mistakes. I don't see how you could other than sheer luck and/or incredibly good eyes, since for once muscle memory isn't super helpful--it won't keep me from putting the strand in the wrong slot or two strands into one. Would be cool though. But idk, maybe experts are doing it with no errors and ive just got a lot more years to put in first lol). Took 6.5 hours to do the whole thing, although I took a week in the middle

Now to sley the reeds.
