I was accepted to work on Wordgirl Rewired alongside the honorable @snickerzanddoodlez. So while I wait to get a scene in order to show her (and myself) my potential,. I made a character sheet of the cast in my own style based off both og show and the ref from the general info. It can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urEY0GR5SoE&t=461s
Hello Wordgirl fandom! Welcome to Wordgirl: Exploration!
What's Wordgirl: Exploration?
Wordgirl: Exploration is a fan reboot inspired by Wordgirl: Rewired. It takes place when Becky/Wordgirl is 12, but also follows a loose continuity. For the most part, anything that happened in the show canonically happened in our project, but there are a few changes or straight up retcons we've made regarding episodes, characterization choices, and even what the characters look like! As for the goal of this reboot; we just wanted to make out own continuation of the show while also exploring potential character arcs and plot ideas. Hence the name ;).
How will Wordgirl: Exploration be shared?
"Episodes" will be written and posted on AO3, with art interspersed throughout. We'll also be sharing fun facts and additional art on this blog.
Who's behind Wordgirl: Exploration?
Currently, the team consists of three individuals: Raven, Ale, and Robin.
Raven (they/xe) handles most of the writing and is the one spearheading the project. They've been a fan of the show since middle school and recently got sucked back in. Any posts or asks answered by them will be tagged with #Raven Rambles.
Ale (baa/it/he) does most of the art and writing editor. He recently got into the show thanks to Raven. Any posts or asks answered by him will be tagged with #Ale Announces and #Ale Art.
Robin (she/her) is the person Ale and Raven bounce ideas off of and the one who suggests how to handle characterization. She's our support team member :). Robin is Raven's younger sister and therefore has been dragged into the fandom by them since day 1. Any posts or asks answered by her will be tagged with #Robin Reports.
And that's all we'll share on this post for now! Feel free to send us questions! We're very excited to work on this reboot and share it with the fandom!
why are you making a reboot of a PBS kids show? go touch grass or smth 😭😭 furry ass lmao... u broke ass bitch get a life and maybe a job cuz this ugly ass reboot clearly isn't doing it for u honey 😒😒🖕
Holy crap, this is the funniest thing I’ve seen all day 😂 Jesus bless ya man, and thanks for the laugh. My “furry ass” is having a whole lot of fun doing random stuff like this, and if you’re not I hope you can find something that makes you as happy as dumb stuff like this makes me! ❤️
May redo this now that I’ve realized the superiority of procreate, but I may as well release this! This is the first time I’ve been releasing it publicly!
wanna help us bring this animatic series to life? We’re looking for more artists 👀 https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSebLss7LEaiaygHaDSI7rRYRkLi-ph8t14RaJ5yYv3n-qjJcg/viewform?usp=sf_link
Mr. Big, sweating: “Leslie, there’s something I need to ask you-“
Leslie: “Finally! You’re proposing!”
Mr. Big: “How’d you know?”
Leslie: “Sir, you’ve dropped the ring five times during dinner.”
Leslie: “I even picked it up once.”
We like to stay true to the original characters in Wordgirl: Rewired- but five years have passed, and everyone has changed at least a little. So….how so?
(Note: this doesn’t cover every character…believe me, we’ve had fun with this :) People like Chuck, the Butcher, Royal Dandy (we know our lore, we know he got destroyed, trust us), etc have their own things going on!)
Tobey - Tobey is a little more mischievous and much less “temper-tantrum-y” in Wordgirl: Rewired. In fact, he seems a little disillusioned with the whole “villain” thing nowadays, mostly helping Dr. Two-Brains because he has to and still likes to destroy things. He’s matured a bit…although it’s still Tobey, and some kids will never fully grow up.
Dr. Two-Brains - The ‘ol mouse-brained doc’ hasn’t actually changed much, still just as flamboyant and eccentric as ever. If anything, he’s just become a little more senile, fully embracing his role as Tobey’s “weird uncle” and being unapologetically eccentric and weird.
Beatrice Bixby - Beatrice is still grumpy and suspicious, although maybe a little more…”down to earth” than she used to be. She still loves the copiers, and is still way too suspicious of Dave and his motives…but she’s a little more sarcastic and dry-witted than she used to be, her anger cooling into more sarcastic bitterness than loud manic accusations.
Dave - Dave has changed…well, not much. He’s still sweet, oblivious, and very very intent on supporting Beatrice.
He also may or may not have a crush on her, but after rewatching episodes like “I Think I’m a Clone Now” and “Lady Redundant Woman”, I’ll admit that might not be a change 😉
Mr. Big and Leslie - Mr. Big and Leslie are still partners in crime, although…well, are now actual partners!
Both in their dual ownership of the company and them being married now, because…c’mon, guys. It’s my reboot, I get to ship the little bitty people however I want.
They’re both a little more functional though, and Mr. Big especially has grown to be a bit of a better listener. He’s still an oblivious goofball, but he tries to listen and does care when Leslie seems upset.
Leslie is still monotone and stoic, but with a bit of a sarcastic streak.
Eileen - Eileen, of course, now often assists in the Bigs’s schemes. She’s still very greedy, but she’s been taking anger management classes (that are taught by the reformed villain turned school counselor, The Butcher!). She’s a little more self aware, albeit this is usually after she’s gone full beast mode on everyone. It’s progress, though!
