Just gonna really quickly challenge all the artists that follow my blog (or just see this in general) to pick out an animal and draw it as a wof dragon. Like draw the dragon as funky as you can- make a real complex hybrid- whatever just make it as similar to that animal as possible.

Anyways, I was not expecting to get so many recommendations. Thank you though if you did send me one!

A little training before the real deal.

I’ve started drawing flowers as dragons for fun! I think it’s an art challenge too though. This is a sunflower!

Okay, now BACKSTORYYY! He’s a rain/night hybrid. His scales are dark brown and yellow at all times. He has a combination of the RainWing toxin and NightWing bacteria, where if he bites someone, they get the magical death spit treatment. Suntime is also important to him. He kinda got the short end of the genetic stick; his scales don’t change colour so he can’t camouflage, he can’t breathe fire, and his venom only takes effect when he bites someone, but he doesn’t care because he prefers to make music instead of fight anyway. His name is Sunflower because I’m lazy :)

wolfsbane

I wasn’t able to give him a leaf mane as wolfsbane leaves are a tricky shape. So gave him the canon fin things. And yeah. Will not be doing that again, do not care for them on leafwings.

Also decided to try out colored line-art with him! Not my best color palette but it was fun splashing bright purple around before going onto the Nightwings.

Wisemind and Wisdom

For these two I decided to try and have two different ways of having a close to canon design.

I prefer how Wisdom turned out by far!

His scale placement and shapes turned out much better. As well as the snout. And I love his color palette so much!

I think I will have to work on the underbelly. As well more detail/scales on the lower jaw…

Ayo! I have an idea for a challenge where I draw a new profile picture every week! This way you guys will have at least one post a week and it will motivate me to draw.

Color wheel art (wip)

more royal dragons, this time the ones from arc 2/3! these were really fun, and the previous designs helped me get comfortable with more detailed jewelry designs, so these are a bit more extravagant.

RUBY: i didn't realize how young she really is when i read escaping peril the first time, i thought she was in her mid-twenties at least but apparently she's only 12/17? wild. anyways i made her ruby red with some orange accents to point to tourmaline. her tiara is meant to look like laurels, studded with rubies, and the gems on her brows and wings are citrine.

GLORY: i already had a design for her, i just touched it up a bit here. she's very pretty, but her scales are notably duller than my other rainwing designs. she has pouches she wears around her neck because she likes to be prepared and is trying to connect more to her culture. at least one of those pockets has snacks for silver. the flower on her ear is a plumeria india, one of my favorite flowers.

THORN: easily my favorite design in the set, oh my god i love how she came out. she has the same colors as my sunny design but desaturated, and almost the same markings. her jewelry is mostly gold with onyx and lapis lazuli insets. the design for the eye of onyx is inspired by @dragonsndoodles's design, which looks absolutely gorgeous and way more elegant than the graphic novel version.

SNOWFALL: i think i made her too round and soft-looking? idk i think she's cute though. i definitely had to get those pale sunset colors in there, and she has similar colors/markings to glacier. the tiara is one she found in the treasury after the racism crown™ was destroyed, and the shawl was a gift from luna as a thanks for helping her tribe. silk doesn't help much against the cold, but it sure is pretty.

WASP: SCARY BITCH. i had to mess with her colors a lot, i wanted to make her kinda greenish with red accents but it just was NOT working. i do like where i ended up though. i don't know that she would wear much jewelry, probably more armor than anything else, but i wanted to do hivewing jewelry so here we are. the neck piece was really fun to design. these are steel and gold with amber and peridot accents, and the cape is silk with gold embroidery. i have this headcanon of her having breath of evil growing out of her like a cordyceps fungus, and she uses the cape to cover the tendrils on her back.

SEQUOIA: ooo she was a challenge, i'm not great at designs with a lot of green or a lot of dark colors so she was fun. her colors are inspired by @daily-wof-designs, and the brown tones were pulled from pictures of giant sequoias. she wears braided leather straps hung with aquamarine, and the scarf might be silk? or some kind of natural fiber? i'm not sure. but it has leaf designs and is probably batik dyed (which is super cool btw look it up)

Although i did panic cause i didnt know how to approach her, ive never drawn her so i did some concept sketches and, for some reason, I chose to go with a mix of tlos spyro and red panda inspo.

I think she turned out great, but I did hurry in the last steps cause its already past 12 am and i have a long day of school tomorrow.

I dont know why, but when designing freedom I had this thought of "what if i just merge.....spyro and wof......and wof just happens after spyro and since freedom is an ancient dragon she still has spyro dragon traits" like, logically the spyro era would happen after (at least that makes sense in my head?) Idk what i was thinking but i do like the idea of spyro and wof being connectedandomg what if terrador or smth had a child with a leafwing and thats how freedom was bornwha

anyways i gave her some red panda traits, i especially love the ears and leaf frills and also spyro traits like the weak ass paddle wings

anyways, Im gonna continue the color wheel challenge after july bc artfight! you can still give me suggestions for who will be on yellow tho ^^
