Questions I have after OMITB finale...
1. How did Becky/Poppy figure out Bunny had the Rose Cooper painting?
2. How did Rose Cooper know about Bunny?
3. How did Becky find out about the passageways?
4. How did she get into their apartments to plant the evidence (knife, painting)?
4a. How did she get Bunny into Mabel's apartment?
5. How did she figure out Lucy was in the passageways? They didn't say this on their podcast...
6. How exactly did Cinda Canning set up the mayor especially if they clearly never found a body?
7. How involved was Kreps actually? Did he help w/ the murder or just taking the matchbook? Why didn't he try to get the knife out of evidence?
8. Why was Charles' dad arrested?
9. Why did Alice lie during the Son of Sam game? (Also: Mabel should've known she was lying since they were the only two left in the game)
10. How was Mabel not arrested after blatantly stabbing someone in public?
11. Who sent the messages before?
12. Who poisoned Winnie?!
Ok...I think that's it for now. 😞

So why was Charles's dad arrested in the flashback? Who was leaving the threatening notes on Oliver and Jan's doors in s1? Hmmmm?

OMITB season 3
Wow, just a few weeks left until season 3. I really hope it connects with the past two seasons, because I still think parts of the mysteries haven't been solved.
1. Did Jan poison Winnie?
2. Howard said he knew Jan was the killer by episode 8, that's the episode Jan got the note on her door, before stabbing her self. Did he leave the note?
3. Is these questions what Mabel was thinking about when she said it felt like it was still some loose ends to Tim's case?
4. Oscar said Tim got the green ring the day before Tim was killed. Jan said she killed Tim because she found the ring the day before he broke up with her, and that day was two days before killing him, according to her. Plot hole or on purpose?
5. The package Tim was waiting on in the pilot, why was it so important to him if he already had the green ring? What was in that package?
6. Why did Poppy want that Rose Cooper painting? And why was the card Bunny got that said "Bunny Folger I want that painting" written in the same handwriting as Lucy's Valentine's day card for Charles?
7. Where did Oscar go? I get that they didn't work out, but Mabel going through hell in season 2 and not even a text? Come on!

OMITB Season 3 Predictions:
Whoever poisoned Winnie also poisoned Ben Glenroy. (Or the events are otherwise connected.)
Ben is Lucy’s new stepfather/Emma’s new husband.
Sazz is a suspect, but not actually the murderer.
In season one, Oliver said: “your most well known neighbor might be the neighbor you know the least.” He said it about Sting, but who was the resident Oliver knew most well, at the time? Teddy. In season two, Jan said the killer was: “a storyteller, an artist.” That also turns out to be true, just not in the way it first seems. I’ll be keeping an eye out for similar lines.
Teddy is in prison. Theo more or less got off; he has completed feelings about that.
Will and Theo find out they’re half brothers. Oliver calls Theo his half son at least once. I mean, it’d be weird if they did nothing with that?
Mabel finished renovating her aunt’s apartment and moved out of the Arconia.
Re: the teaser photos of Selena in a wedding dress. I think they’ll put on a fake wedding as part of the investigation. My reasoning is that we know this season is about theater and a wedding is just one big production.
Additionally, I give it a 60% chance Theo is the fake groom. Because I ship them. Of the current cast, he’s the most interesting choice I can imagine for that role. Think of the DRAMA.
Or it’s a stage costume, but I can dream.
Regardless of the above, I do think there will be some amount of forward momentum in the Mabel/Theo department. I’m aware of my bias but 2x7 feels like it’s building up to something.
We’ll finally meet Mabel’s aunt.
And see Mabel’s mom again. Considering how much last season was about parent-child relationships, her absence was conspicuous.
Lucy ends up in a situation reminiscent of New Years Eve 2010. Not sure HOW. Just… something. Because she’s about the same age as Mabel and co were when everything went down.
Mabel still has that green ring (she had it on when she punched Jan) and it’s going to be shown again at some point before the end of the series, if not this season.

OMITB S3 Thoughts:
Overall, really enjoyed season 3. I do consider it a bit of a step down from seasons 1 and 2, but there is a lot to enjoy and appreciate and I am looking forward to season 4!
Things I liked:
The. Musical. Numbers.
They were so good and weird and surprisingly emotional
Honestly all the Broadway stuff made my inner theater kid happy
The main three are delightful as always!
I was so happy Uma and Howard got character spotlights!
The parallels between the play and the mystery *chefs kiss*
Loretta. Meryl Steep was incredible as always and I loved her in this role. Definitely my favorite of the new characters this season I hope we see more of her!
Mabel learning ASL!
Charles and his emotional support fish
Costuming as always is great. I want Mabel’s sweater collection.
Mabel’s notecard script in the last episode was GOLD
Spitzprobe might be one of my favorite episodes of the show as a whole
Things I didn’t like as much:
I did feel like some of the characters built up in the first two seasons got put on the back burner for the new cast
Biggest ones were Will and Lucy. Like, Will especially because his father had a heart attack and he wasn’t mentioned?? Oliver fully wrote the musical at the end he’d definitely be coming with VIP seats, right?
Trio was so great together but only really came together the last few episodes. :/
WHY DID SELENA GOMEZ NOT SING??
Also. Like. I am a huge Theo fan and seeing him back was delightful and James Caverly is always a standout but I feel like we jumped over some pretty important stages in his redemption arc that I would’ve loved to see. Like, we went straight from “maybe you’re not such a bad guy” to sleepover buddy. I will admit I was looking forward to a drawn out healing/forgiveness process that kind of got skipped over.
Especially since both the play and Ben’s death involved someone getting pushed from the top of a building and the Zoe parallels were right there and never got acknowledged.
Also rip Oliver that his past two producers have gotten arrested and had sons that killed someone by pushing them off the top floor of the same building maybe he IS cursed.
Literally why did Mabel not get to sing. Like, I know Mabel the character is probably not a huge singer but it’s Selena Gomez. Y’all could’ve done something.
Miss the Arconiacs!
I realize this section is way longer than the first one but it’s just because I have more thoughts not because I dislikes more things.
WHERE WERE WINNIE AND MRS. GAMBOLINI??
Wishlist for season 3:
More Will! He’s the last functional character let him get in on the shenanigans please.
More Lucy! I love the energy she brings to the show it’s so good.
Mabel does not need another love interest. Have not cared since Oscar left. (Did people not like Oscar? He’s such a sweetheart I miss him I hope his yoga studio is doing well)
More of the trio being buddies in general
Theo getting some interactions with Charles and Oliver maybe? Half-brother reveal?
More hanging out with the Arconia residents
Would like some explanation for why Theo is not in jail. I’m not upset about it but like…he should totally be in jail?
More Detective Williams
Honestly with the established characters I’d love to mix up and get some new dynamics like Will and Charles? Uma and Mabel? Oliver and Lucy? Williams and Howard?
There to be an homage to a study in scarlet with different interpretations of what Sazz wrote
You know what Mabel should sing. I’m still holding out hope.
The next time they do a montage of different people reacting to the podcast cut to Theo reading a transcription. I just think if a podcast accuses you of murder the very least they can do is make it accessible to you.

Vague theory for OMitB s3
(because I'm still stuck on winnie being poisoned in s1 and I just saw the s3 trailer)
I think there's been someone out to destroy Oliver's life/career for a really long time.
And I think it all goes vack to his last big show, SPLASH. Maybe one of those chorus boys who went SPLAT? Maybe the person who was supposed to be the star mermaid?

Will we ever find out who poisoned Winnie?
FrozenCharlotte on Reddit wrote:
“From an article with John Hoffman: In Season 1, Episode 3, Oliver returned to his apartment to find that his beloved bulldog had ingested a toxic substance. Winnie survived, but the attempted dog murderer was never exposed.
According to Hoffman, that was by design: "We like our loose ends," the EP says with a wink. “We don't mind carrying loose ends from Season 1 to Season 2, from Season 2 to Season 3. But rest assured, there is a long game plan involving some of these clues.”
So OMITB Detectives, what do you think?
Since the recent episode, there is now the mention of poison and my thinking is it may be the same poisoner who was out to get Winnie, which makes me think now - has the murderer actually been after Oliver this whole time (given all of the disruptions to ruin his musical)?
And we also know there is a Moriarty figure this season…

Only Murders in the Building is the best show ever!!!! I finished season 2 like four days ago (i watched it w/ my sister) and i rebinged season 1 in these past 2 days. There are just so many things I love about that show. Here comes the rant.
Like, in season 1, I love how we really get to know the characters. We not only learn who they are and basic info, we go sort of deep into their backstory while being able to remain perfectly in the present. With Oliver, we learned about his many, many, failed performances, his bad relationship with his son, his constant need for money, his relationship with Bunny, and the love he holds for Winnie. We learn about his failures and his mistakes and how he tries to make up for them. I also love how we see his past as a director really be incorporated in the podcast.
With Mabel, we learn about Zoe, Oscar, and Tim. Lemme tell you, I so need a spinoff mockumentary about those four because they were really well written imo. We get to see her mom, we dive into her relationship with Oscar, and how she was connected to Tim Kono. We see her past rise up as she solves the case.
With Charles, it's mostly Jan. Yet, I love how there's the scene where his neighbor is like "I can smell your omelets; they remind me of Lucy". And when Charles fesses up to Jan about his past dating life, it's so real. And the cartoon images that he sees are such a great way to incorporate his past without trying to force it.
Most importantly, I love how the characters' pasts aren't revealed in one overly dramatic scene. Yes, we may see a lot of someone's past in an episode, but later on more is revealed and explained really well. The writers aren't trying to make the characters be like "im sorry for lashing out at you yesterday, it's just that my mom died 20 years ago and blah blah blah". Like Katara in all of ATLA. Instead, we see the past spread out in a really well balanced way. Mabel's connections with Tim and Zoe are really naturally brought out. And so is Oliver's with Will and the faint glimpses of Charles' with Lucy. (Also, I really love how he makes the omelets for Lucy everyday) Everything is so naturally brought it out in OMITB, it's truly one of the best shows ever written/directed. Huge props to Steve Martin and John Hoffman.
Now, onto season 2. (Warning: SPOILERS)
The finale was so epic. I totally believed Alice mvrd3r3d Bunny and that she stabbed Charles. I was literally in tears for the whole scene. It was a really well written plot, because I didn't expect anything that happened. And, the backstories were expanded even more.
Also, season 2 seemed to be more centered on Mabel, but I love how it still majorly included Oliver and Charles. We dive deep into why Mabel forgets every dramatic thing that happens in her life, and why she flips over the puzzle. I really love her relationship with Alice. It's a strangers to friends to lovers relationship with so many ups and downs. I love how they managed to work together in the end, though. And I love how really go deeper into Will and Oliver's relationship. The whole DNA tests and the "tells" is so well written. I really love Oliver's involvement with the Son of Sam game. Finally, there's Charles and Lucy. I love how Lucy perfectly tied into the whole story. Her being there wasn't really forced or anything. I also love her relationship with Charles. It's really really reminding me of my relationship with my grandpa- especially because they both look alike.
I just really really love OMITB and I'm super excited for season 3 to come out! I even have some predictions. Like, Charles is gonna be blamed for Ben's sudden death like Mabel was framed for Bunny's demise. It makes sense because Charles was the last person to see Ben alive just like Mabel w/ Bunny. IDK, it's just a feeling. I'm hoping we get to see what Charles was upset about, too. He was mad, and if he and Ben were fighting a lot, then he could get accused like Oscar was. I'm also hoping Charles gets another almost fatal injury, like in previous seasons, because (and ik it sounds weird), Steve Martin always makes it really suspenseful and hilarious.
IN SUMMARY, GO WATCH OMITB IF YOU HAVEN'T YET

Omitb season 3 first two episodes
Wow. Something feels a little different this season. Not sure if I like it or not yet, but I'm really happy they're finally back!
Ben dying twice was not what I was expecting, but a fun little twist.
I hope Meryl Streep sticks around. Seemed like they were trying to make her the killer during episode 1, so I don't think its her anyways. But so cute Oliver has a love interest. And I'm happy Joy's still around.
And Mabel can't move!
Oh, and Jesse Williams, I love him!
This time around I actually think Howard may be the killer, or his boyfriend. So happy they're still together, btw. They made a point of the scarfs (or what they were) were also given to assistants, not just the ensamble. And I just don't think they would go with someone completely new as the killer.
If Howard is the killer it may explain a few loose ends. Like who poisoned Winnie and who left the note for Jan from season 1.
But I don't know how that would connect with Charles telling Ben that he knew what Ben did to that girl, whoever she is.
Oliver's heart attack had me worried for a second.
Lastly, the dancing scene with Mabel, Will and Charles, well...
